I have no desire to play it. I didn’t like it when it came out. The ‘classic’ game isn’t what Brack said it would be. ‘They’ won’t do anything to fix it because that is not their business model anymore. If they transition WotLK to Cata or my Wrath solo play gets too much interference from bots, etc., I’ll just go back to a P.S.
Wrath isn’t dead. It’s in a state of stasis but it’s not dead.
I will not be playing Cata for a number of story reasons, as well as wanting to take back my spare time from WOW commitments. However I agree that the community has changed quite a bit from TBCC from the large topical issues (Bots, GDKPs, Gear Scores for H+, etc.) to the little things (Dead levelling zones, greater end game orientation, raid logging) that the idea of playing the game past ICC gives me a sense of dread.
I don’t want to play on Classic Era though because I don’t want to play a version of the game that doesn’t progress if I did play WOW. If I played WOW again, it would be for PVP content only and I’d like to do Arena Seasons in particular starting in TBC. The only way I’d continue my sub and play past ICC would be a Fresh Progression server from Vanilla to Wrath again or a Classic+

Yes. I never raided in Cata and quit after the Firelands patch dropped.
Everyone will be playing Cata. We’ve been told here a hundred times that the reason wow lost subs and the game was destroyed was because they added rdf. With rdf being removed in classic instead of seeing a massive sub loss in Cata we’ll see millions more players being added.

They have the perfect opportunity to do like classic runescape and make new content. Cata sucks and I bet there would only be a couple of healthy servers if they release it.

I’d say that’s not really saying much, but considering what this is replying to that’s also kind of the point they were trying and failing to make. 
Along with the moronic idea to tie rep gains to the same equations as XP gains, meaning doing quests that were green had some slight reduction and doing gray quests was a waste of time. <_<

If you need to say it’s a big deal, it really isn’t; you spent enough time to hit max level under certain conditions in a video game, you didn’t cure a type of cancer or something actually important to society as a whole.

I can think of 500 different games where you can showcare more skill than in Hardcore; the sad part is one of them is literally Retail.

Minus the tightknit connections between OSRS’s community and Jagex, people with actual intelligence/talent making choices about game design, a playerbase that doesn’t have their collective heads so far up a place I (think I) can’t say here that they’re in danger of digesting their eyebrows, enough freedom with narrative to actually make changes that matter, a writing team that can actually write decent quests that aren’t just pop culture references, a game design that lends itself to EVERYTHING being useful no matter where you are in the game regardless of its vertical design…

Dungeon Finder was added in the ICC patch, so Cata had it from day one. Whether Classic Cata will or not remains to be seen, though.
