So now that bfa is over

Sylvanas being morally grey was just a load huh?

Yep, they lied. They didn’t even fail to convey the story or anything, they just lied.

My sentiments exactly.

Yeah pretty much. I god hope we just kill her in Shadowlands and just end her stupid story once and for all. They already ruined her beyond redemption they ruined one of the best characters in Warcraft history and now they should just end it and be done with it.

“Sylvanas bad, Anduin good. All that matters is that Anduin is such an amazing, handsome, awesome and the Light’s gift to Azeroth. Did I mention he was totally awesome and stuff?”

I mean, did the lie accomplish what it set out to do? It kept players from forming any particular expectation other than ‘I guess we’ll see how this plays out.’ I dunno. I’m looking forward to smacking Sylvanas in a future Raid or something with Hammer of Justice as many times as I can cast it.

“Sylvanas bad, horde not bad, horde actually feel soooooooo bad. so so so bad. like seriously so bad here is three high quality cinematics about how bad the horde feel! ugh they just feel sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad”

wait what tree? who cares about night elves lmao

edit: seriously guys, horde are super down about it and feel bad. the lack of hoNNOoorRRRRRr was disgraceful !

Um, yes, yes it was.

She now has her pick of dead Night Elf babies in the Maw!

We’ve yet to find out her true intentions for powering up the Jailer with all those souls, but I understand some people would rather follow the tunnel view of things :joy: Also, there’s plenty of other quests where the player has to mass kill alliance or horde npcs with cannons or otherwise, but let’s get stuck on one tree, because that makes so much sense.

Wow, you guys on the Horde side sure heard a lot more about Anduin than we Alliance did. He showed up for, like, a minute on our side.

Yeah agreed that they ruined Sylvanas. Even in Cataclysm she struck me more of an ‘ends justify the means’ person, more ‘dark’ than ‘evil’.

In BFA they made her like a saturday morning cartoon villain.
Sylvanas: I have burned down the puny Night Elf tree and destroyed all hope forever!! MUHAHAHA!!! twirls mustache
Alliance: You’ll never get away with this, Sue-vanas!
Sylvanas: Oh but I already have!! Horde is nothing!! Runs off to Shadowlands

I read half of Before the Storm and got enough Anduin to last me a dozen lifetimes. Sadly, that was what BfA was founded on was that…abomination. I’m never buying another WoW novel again.

People only remember you for your last success or failure… This is the humanoid condition. Her failure has been of epic proportions in that it is visibly evident that all she cared about was herself… Narcissism at its best.

She had always cared about herself, first and foremost. This isn’t anything new, really. I’m hoping that there were ends that justified the means, but…I don’t expect much from the writers anymore. I sincerely doubt they can pull off a good twist.

I wish I could say the same. I’m just… tired of her. I’m looking forward to the next expansion (the one after Shadowlands) because, hopefully, Sylvanas has nothing to do with it.

I don’t see it. I can agree that she is selfish in the sense that she doesn’t trust others with most of her plans. But judging by what she said about our world being a prison and this so-called fixed “path” that exists in the shadowlands, I’m expecting to see her fighting to unravel a sort of hidden wheel that tramples over regular souls to power these Eternal Ones or the council of Death. There’s so much we have yet to learn of before we can start making final judgements.

I’d rather be the former. If I’m disappointed later on, that’s a different discussion.

It was already a load when BfA began.

She was def cold, selfish, and unscrupulous but I still don’t see her doing something outrageous like killing all those night elves. You would think it’d give her extreme PTSD from what Arthas did to her and her people. Raising more Forsaken is one thing, but you can’t raise ash. It’s so pointlessly sadistic, even for her. The whole jailer ‘it was planned all along’ thing seems like an excuse to justify hitting her with the villain bat. They needed someone to fill in Garrosh’s role for their Theramore/MoP rehash story. I wouldn’t expect any grand twists except maybe something like a ‘Kerrigan redemption’.
