So my garrison hearthstone isnt working. giving me an error warning

I have a garrison on the same character already. Ive used it before they changed the hearthstone to a toy. Now i cant use it. Giving me “cant do that right now” message

You might have to go to it the “hard way,” by taking the portal to Warspear, then flying to your garrison. After that, I expect you would be able to use it.

There is no garrison hearthstone now but just the toy.

All characters have to go through and earn the “hearthstone” before they are legible to use the toy. Has the character in question done the Garrison start-up stuff to unlock access?

I think you missed the part of my sentence that said Ive use the garrison hearthstone before they changed it to the toy

Unfortunately, you weren’t really clear about whether or not that was on the same character.

Sounds like you’ll need to put in a bug report using the in-game bug report feature or by posting in the Bug Report forums.

Additionally, you can try a Full UI Reset to rule out a corrupt UI or addon.

That’s why I asked about the character in question. When they first got converted to toys, a lot of people assumed they would be functional account wide and were confused when they could not use them on alts which had never done the initial quest line.

I’ve also found that the Garrison Hearthstone that was originally on my bars did not work and I had to remove it and add it back again from the toy journal. So if the UI reset doesn’t work, also try removing it from your bars and adding back on from the toy journal.

This. Make sure you are not using the old Garrison Hearthstone item that used to live in our bags. You need to use the toy in the Toy Box tab of your Collections.

And as Sendryn said, make sure the icon on your action bar is for the toy, not the old backpack item.

If you want to find other people who have been having the same problem that you have been having for apparently many years, starting a thread with a title that indicates the subject would be the way to do it. I read the thread. The issue resolved by dragging a new link from the toy box to an action bar. The rest of the thread was arguing about the change between it being an item in your bag and being a toy.

I have over 50 characters in three accounts. Every one that encountered the error resolved by bringing a new icon from the toy box.

The only hearthstone that isn’t a toy is the basic one, and it can be replaced by toys like the holiday ones.

Yep! It’s only two spaces, but you can delete the Garrison and Dalaran Hearthstones, because they are used from the Toy Box now.

ETA: Three, if you delete the normal Hearthstone. That can be replaced by all the holiday/event/Covenant hearthstones
