Then why are you complaining in GD instead of bug reports? do you actually want this to be looked at?
As you see, I opened a ticket about this. Iâve opened bug reports about this.
The GMs donât even know what theyâre talking about. They keep saying to get exalted to unlock Mechagnomes. Which isnât even the issue.
The Devs do read the forums, supposedly.
At this point Iâm convinced you must be bored and trolling GD.
First you donât know how the unlock works / what it means, now that itâs been pointed out why you were wrong youâre changing tact entirely.
Maybe just⊠donât respond to posts that you donât understand?
but QA (the department responsible for this) doesnât read GD.
What QA department? They fired those guys last year, if you recall.
Unless itâs a dev decision / oversight, in which case this is an appropriate place to bring it up.
You can fly across from stormsong if you really wanna get there
Swing and a miss, my guy. There is an -entire city- that is now inaccessible, where it is accessible on other characters pre-Embassy. And it is inaccessible to the race that starts there.
The blue things are labeled teleporters in the starting zone that are supposed to connect.

If youâve done the quest or do the quest, you have it unlocked on the character - the bottom portion there.
However, if you did it Pre-Embassy, you could have it open on MULTIPLE characters.
If you only did it on one, you only have access to it on one, if you did it on 3, you had access to it on 3. Post Embassy - your alts can no longer unlock this city, because the quest became an Embassy quest that can only be done once.
Those are images of the city that is inaccessible as a Mechagnome (but not on characters who previously did the quest) because the teleporters in the Mechagnome starting zone are broken now. Also, it can no longer be accessed by any alts like it could be.
Huh, I never even realized there was a second teleporter down the ramp. I just tried it on my mechagnome and it is indeed nonfunctional.
Iâve never even unlocked the Mechagnomes, but I think I can understand the problem the OP is trying to describe:
- The Mechagnome city in question is not the Mechagon island quest hub that anybody can access in the open world. (Stop confusing the two.)
- Previously, that special city was unlocked on every character who did the questline to unlock Mechagnomes before it was relocated to the embassy in Stormwind and made a one-time-per-account questline.
- Now, only the first (and only) character that unlocks Mechagnomes on an account (thanks for the warning!) gets access to that city.
- Not even new Mechagnome characters get access to that city even though there is a supposed teleporter to it in their own starting zone.
Is that all correct?
Is there some reason youâre desperate to get back there? Some cool tmogs to buy or something weâre missing?
It often feels like the GMs donât even play the game, especially considering the responses people were getting when they were complaining about the current NPC dialogue bug.
Bug reports often feel like they just go into the void. I literally gave up on sending bug reports regarding female Undead toes remaining bony regardless of Skin Type option because they apparently donât think itâs a bug or something.
Literally anything thatâs âjust aesthetics issues lolâ often just gets ignored or relegated to being fixed for a major patch. There was literally a time where they broke a Worgen mount animation cycle and just left it broken for an entire content patch.
This is correct.
Thereâs an inn, arcade, and quite a few other things. Itâs a fun place to just chill in. Everything that was closed in the instance is actually open - houses and all that.
Not surprising at all. GMs have to support all Blizzard games, so it seems very reasonable to presume that a lot of them donât even play the game. Especially with some of the weird responses you can get.
WellâŠthatâs a shame! I guess I canât even start on it with the removal of the quest, because it sounds like a neat RP area!
Would be nice if Gnomes of any stripe can have one city. Instead of the absolute zero. I donât think Gnomes have any city, township or village thatâs entirely just theirs.
The quest isnât removed, it can just only be done once now from the embassy and the city is only accessible on that character from then-on (the only character on your entire account). No alts can do it anymore, nor can even Mechagnomes access it.
Which is⊠pretty poop.
So this basically:
Can only be accessed by the exalted toon and no one else any longer as it isnât possible to do the rep quest? Or rather just whatever quest helps unlock it for that toon as it isnât an account wide unlock?
Correct. It is only accessible on multiple characters if you have previously done the quests triggered from hitting the rep.
With the removal of Rep and it becoming a one-time quest in the embassy means those characters who have previously unlocked it when it was a rep quest have approval, but if a new player unlocks them - the only character they have that can get it is the one who unlocked it.
Their new Mechagnome canât use the teleporter, nor can any alts. They can never do the quest again, thus no other characters can access the city besides that one ever again on a new account or an alt.
You also canât go to Future Draenor on your alts or enter Tapartosâs memories on your alts or do any other faction unlock on your alts. This is by design.
âBut what if I want to go into an empty instance to RP?â Sometimes we have to make sacrifices for the greater good. Allied Races can be confusing enough for some people, we really donât need to be tricking people into thinking they need to do it multiple times.
