Did any MM use pets outside of lust and in pvp?

Tbh this feels like something leftover from legion.
We had a lot of eagles themed stuff for hunters then, this xpac… What eagles? lol.

Time to go back to FFXIV, done with this nonsense.

Hunters are easily the strongest personalized characters players can make. There aren’t as many themes for any class like a hunter. Whether you have wolves, a bear friend as a dwarf, cats, birds, mechs, lizards…
Taking that away as an option from one of their specs is nasty.

People that run pets with mm aren’t looking for min/maxing to begin with. Same can be said with bm running 1 pet vs 2.
You are running for personal preference. Not min/maxing.
Funny enough, they actually thought ahead with this
- New Ability: Harrier’s Cry – Your Eagle descends from the skies with a screech, giving the signal to attack. Increases Haste by 30% for all party and raid members for 40 seconds. Allies receiving this effect will become Sated and unable to benefit from Harrier’s Cry or similar effects again for 10 minutes. Learned at level 48.
It’s their idea for the mm class fantasy.
Moving into Undermine(d), we are looking to reimagine Marksmanship’s Sharpshooter fantasy and reconcile some large spec friction points - they want the sniper fantasy and snipers don’t normally have pets.
I think they wanted the utility without the pet? No idea.

At least Rogues got more than Brewmasters lol.

Is it, though? For years now, MM has been “the hunter spec without a pet”…to the point where MM hunters get up in arms if they’re expected to provide lust. What’s changed, here? You occasionally have to see a bird flying around when you use an ability? How is that any different than the Sentinel hero talents?

So they’re making Lone Wolf, a talent that any MM hunter playing even remotely seriously was always taking anyway, baseline, and giving you a Primal Rage alternative so you don’t have to petweave anymore…and this is bad…?

Indeed they are.
I’ve gone through the work of changing my main MM’s profession from Leatherworker to Engineer. I’ve even tamed a couple of mechanical pets to better fit the new theme she has, and now I’m not going to be allowed to use those pets without having to swap away from the spec she’s been since I made her back in 2005?
Unacceptable! This breaks my class fantasy of a mechanically savvy, snipe rifle using, Marksman hunter.
Blizzard taking railroading to a whole new level. They’re even trying to gaslight us into what OUR class fantasies are.
Yes, I use a pet as MM when I’m out in the open world and Delves by-myself. I go Lone Wolf in Dungeons and Raids.
This change NEEDS to be cancelled or made a lot more customizable.

There are plenty of specs as easy as BM. MM doesn’t have to watch a dot that is make or break for dps. That more than makes up for having to move for one single ability. And even that ability procs often so you can cast it and move. MM is an extremely mobile spec.

Speak for yourself. A lot of hunters will be upset losing there pet functionality. You don’t speak for the majority.

I hope you’re not implying that those upset by this do…

I don’t speak for the majority delulu. It’s pretty obvious what most players are using.
One gives more damage. One gives less damage.
And every single guide other than open world solo and delve use lone wolf to further back this up as well.
Thems the facts.
I’d say don’t attack me, go after blizzard. But you are known for disengenuous posting.
Ignore them. They look for any opportunity to whiteknight lol.

Not checking wowhead here and there is imo shooting yourself in the foot.
Calling them lazy when you could have looked it up yourself is odd.

first double tap and now this

Don’t hear me complain much but this is one of the dumbest choices in the history of WoW game design

It’s a few spells with eagle VFX, not a pet.

New Talent: Double Tap – Casting Trueshot grants Double Tap, causing your next Aimed Shot to fire again at 100% power, or your next Rapid Fire to fire 100% additional shots during its channel. This talent’s effectiveness is reduced by 50% in PvP combat.
