So marksmanship is losing pets LOL is that a joke?

So they are actually creating seperate fantasies for each spec? It’s about damn time

There is this thing called multi-spec that lets you switch specs so you can still tame pets.

Because it has to be balanced around having pets.

If the pets exist, the spec has to be balanced around having them in mind.

Maybe the people in support of this envision a class able to 100% specialize in ranged attacks and don’t have to be balanced assuming they have pets that they don’t even wanna use?

The talent was a band-aid to that, but it’s obvious Blizz doesn’t think it works all that well.

How dare you. BM is evil, and sucks, and is the worst spec, and how dare you insinuate that if they want to play with a beast or two at their side, that they should instead swap to Beast Mastery?

I still stand by that this should change for MM should be stopped for the Hunter Class, and repurposed into making a Ranger Class that fits this billet for Midnight.

It would fit right in as the expansions “Hero” Class. Given the setting of the expansion is Silvermoon.

Instead of trying to fit a Non-Pet specialty within a Pet class.

Ok sure, lets apply this to every class then… We need to define each spec to itself… That means Fury or Arms needs to be changed to ranged Warrior throwing axes… Maybe we Turn Disc priest into a shield tank…I mean they have a lot of work to do.

Hunter has always been a pet class in WOW…so lets change healers to tanks, melee to ranged…lets go.

You want a whole new fricken class to add to the bloated list of classes we already have?

When MM hunter is 90% of the way there, it just needs a nudge, but since you refuse to swap specs, we should just not do that and instead bloat the game further with more classes, and more specs?

I mean, ok, if we did make a ranger class, then what? How would we get three specs out of that, that would feel unique?

More class options is good… Some games drop classes on the regular and its awesome. What do people have against options… Like do you want a line drawn on the ground to follow, no maybe three lines so you have the illusion of choice?

Why should I loose access to the Pet I’ve had as MM for the past 15 years, because Blizzard can’t fix the spec due to their stupidity of putting Lone Wolf in it? So I loose access to my favorite and cherished pets while playing the spec I like because “Well you can always go play this entirely different spec with an entirely different gameplay.”

And Yes, I think this multibillion dollar company could very well have a very flushed out Ranger Class if they put their resources behind it isntead of trying to force the Ranger fantasy into a pet class.

Pets are already a joke within “Lone wolf” specced marksman. I get the outrage, but we either need useful pets or no pets. Not pets that die to one hit from anything and are worthless.

A class should have a unique identity, something that sets it apart from something else.

Every class in the game currently does that. I can’t think of any two classes that are “too similar” to one another other than maybe Destro and Fire Mage if you really had to make a stretch but even those are far enough apart that it still works.

So you add a ranger. A 100% ranged class. It’s going to be basically “MM without pets”, and somehow you gotta make 3 specs for it, each having their own gameplay, and niche fantasy role to fill, with different gameplay styles, and different specializations…

Or you could just take MM hunter, which is almost there already, and make a few tweaks and boom you’re done without having to add a whole 'nuther class to the game.

Did you ever stop to think that Lone Wolf was a bandaid attempt to fix something fundamentally wrong with the class itself?

People obviously want a 100% ranged class, which you can’t have if you have access to pets. So the pets gotta go if you want a 100% ranged class.

I would very likely play a Ranger class if they made one, especially if it involved ranged stealth and tracking…

Make one of the specs a healer, nature magic/herb based. Make 2x DPS specs one ranged stealth and the other some form of glass cannon sniper build, no stealth but major DPS burst with set up required.

Have you played hunter lately? Like seriously, go in a delve as a MM hunter. Your pet is worthless and dies instantly so all of the guides tell you to face tank bosses instead. Pets have already been made worthless for MM…might as well go full send.

How about MM hunters can have pets but they are in a non-combat state?

I have… I use my pet to CC around corners and to buy me a second to reposition or get a CD back up…

I’d also posit that the ONLY mistake Blizz made, was waiting this long to full send it.

If they’d have done this back in Wrath, everybody would be happy with their eagles to this day.

That chick with the pets that’s complaining, wouldn’t be complaining if she hadn’t had her pets for 15 years. That’s the only crime Blizz did here.

This is literally just repeating history. Legion is where Lone Wolf originated, and thats what accounts for 2 of my 17 years of not being able to utilize my pets as MM. It was reverted back to the OPTION of having pets because of the very reason of “I would like to use the pets I have.”

How long will this change last, if they Shadowlands push it thru? 2 more years? And then right back to the drawing board to allow Hunters, The Pet class, the ability to use their pets on all their specs?

I honestly think they could do it. They have the Resources, personnel, ability, and with it being pushed to Midnight the time.

Heck some of the specs could have the much asked abilities of having Evoker like abilities for drawing back your bow, etc.

People complained about the Hunter complete re-do during Cata when they switched from a Mana based class to focus based. Its just going to take time to get over the outrage and understand its a good change.

Really.

You really think that?

They gave a bunch of EXISTING CLASSES to the Dracthyr AND THEY DON’T WORK PROPERLY.

They STILL don’t work properly, 2 months later.

I don’t trust them to add a grey item to the game and have it work properly let alone a whole new class.

Then I ask, if you have that little trust in them to make this game, Why do you pay them to play it?

I just pray they don’t break crap further and that I can continue to play the content, but for them to add a class and have it work right?

Nah.

The smallest amount of work we give them, the better. Less chances for them royally screwing something up that way.
