Absolute garbage. Ive had my pets forever. I do not want a fracking eagle or owl or sentinel bird of any type. I want the pet Ive used for 20 years. The pet who has been by my side as tank and companion my whole wow life.
I dont want a damn bird and I dont want to play BM. It’s boring. BW, kc, barbed shot, repeat.

Wow, looking at the PTR tree they also removed Chimaera Shot.
I actually loved using that ability when I played MM, really not a fan of that.

If you want pets, you should be a Beast Master.
It makes sense. Pets are what Beast masters are all about, why should other specs get them?
The Hunter class has been the main pet class for 20 years now. So if I wanted pets, I could be playing any Hunter spec. I just happen to enjoy MM the most, so that’s the one I’ve been using for most of those 20 years.

Only on these forums can people be mad that something that was almost exclusively an inconvenience for MM Hunter is getting removed in favor of something that’s actually useful.
You did not use your pet as MM. It was objectively bad to do so. They removed the ability to use a pet as MM and replaced it with their own Bloodlust button which means that MM is exponentially easier to run in M+ groups.

It was never a choice. Ever. It was quite literally “I throw a good chunk of my damage away so I can press Bloodlust if I do this,” which is not a choice you should even be allowed to make.

the only time MM hunters did not use their pet was in raid or m+ which is only about 5% of most of our playtime.

Okay? Swap to BM or SV then as they’re literally better at everything else.
MM’s identity was always deeply flawed as long as it was going to try playing to both crowds. Anything that helps MM’s identity become more defined is better for the game.
It’s like when people were mad 2H Frost was being removed as an option for Frost DK for a while; the only people who were mad were the people who realized that 2H Frost’s very existence was a net negative for that spec as a whole.
Now this… this I’m going to have to disagree with.
I actually liked 2H Frost, one because you just look more like a badass when swinging around a huge weapon and two, because gearing up with a 2H weapon is way easier than trying to maintain a pair of 1-handers (you can just set your loot spec to UH and always find 2H weapons).
Now if we wanna talk about net negatives on classes…

I am SO sick and tired of getting effing Spears out of World Quests (and other sources that ignore loot spec rules) on my BM Hunter.
I wish they would never have started that stupid crap.
These elitist nobodies still going off telling others how to play, is still pretty darn insufferable.

i dont really have a huge problem with mm losing their pet.
i have a problem with blizzard “looking to reimagine Marksmanship’s Sharpshooter fantasy” by removing their pets and “instead joined in battle by a unique Eagle pet”
just sounds pretty moronic and redundant to me. let us keeps the pets or get rid of them altogether. just dont add some stupid boring passive gimmick that nobody asked for or wants.
So basically you’re just arguing over semantics. Got it.
As for why the eagle, well, plenty of fantasy settings have rangers/hunters/archers/whatever with a bird familiar.
Them having pets makes them more like BM? 
- Exotic pets aren’t limited to 1 specific pet. There’s a plethora of different visual variations & looks of exotic pets.
- BM has two pets out, as opposed to just one like the other specs.
- Not to mention, BM has a handful of additional pet summon abilities and such
Anyone who tries to argue the flawed logic that BM has it’s whole entire identity taken away / copied for simply allowing exotic tames to another spec in the SAME CLASS, is just silly.
