No? Maybe if they had replaced snipe shot with anything remotely bird related, but they didn’t. It’s replacement is called Sniper’s Advantage, so literally more of the same.

Pet is being removed for MM hunters and replaced by an Eagle… begging the question, why can’t I just use my pet for the same things the eagle is going to be used for?
Marksmen can’t have pets?
Why shouldn’t a sniper/archer spec have a pet?
Can you give a valid reason for them not having one when they’ve had one for the majority of 20 years and also will still have an Eagle regardless…?
Cause like…seriously. I’m saying they should let us use the pet if we want to and that the ability to use the utilities of that pet (Lust for instance) can easily be done the way they CURRENTLY do Intimidation for specs not using their pet.

I mean… Does this really surprise you? This is the same company who thought that punching a bear in the face instead of staying ranged represented a “survivalist” more. MM in the past used lone wolf predominately didn’t it? The choice should still be there but it doesn’t surprise me one bit seeing as how my favorite spec for hunter is now a wannabe warrior spec.
I didn’t pick hunter to play melee. Now I’m stuck playing BM because it’s the closest I can get. Consider yourself lucky playing MM to not need a pet since these things are still bugged out the wazoo and are constantly getting 1 tapped by a boss or stuck not being able to find a path after 20 years.

NOOOooooo! I love my pets! I’ve had them forever! Just because I only pull them out for fun, not for combat, doesn’t mean I don’t want the option.

Because Blizz is giving us an eagle anyway? I mean, even they seem to think we need some kind of pet.
This change makes no sense to me. Just let us decide for ourselves if we want to use a pet or not. And BM is nothing like MM with or without a pet.
I have been MM for more than 16 years. Sometimes I use my pets, but these days mostly for RP. This IS an RPG, is it not? Let me have my pets. You can set all yours free if you like. Don’t force me to abandon mine.

As I understand it will only be present when you use a move that typically requires a pet like hero/lust or intimidate.
Hope so. We will have to wait and see how it works in practice. Just, in my opinion from the sounds of it doesn’t sound that great. I’m hoping we are still able to summon our pets as MM anyway.

From what I gather the Eagle is pretty involved in the spec.
It is the one who applies Spotter’s Mark, which replaces Hunter’s Mark, and it’s consumed by your abilities for DPS.
Sniper Shot, it’s a PvP exclusive talent.
I have played Hunter since 2010, and MM since it was introduced, and have NEVER played without my pet. Ever.

Survival is based on Rexxar yet look how they botched it.
Just because it was the norm doesn’t mean it is how it SHOULD be.
Ironically ranger is even more true to archerer (with no pet) than marksman, so enjoy losing again.

Whenever I think of changing Ret paladins, I remember patch 2.0. Running around BGs killing anyone in a stun. Fun times.
What spec doesn’t use pets?

I think this was in DF when they did the overhaul and it broke paladins, Not going to lie it was fun to run in and divine storm and watch 6+ people die from one attack

You aren’t a min/maxer, which is fine. But many are.
Honestly I’m surprised lone wolf wasn’t baked in sooner with how much it gets used and just the whole class fantasy around a sniper/sharpshooter.
Honestly if that’s the case you would do much better as BM. It has much better throughput with the pet out and 100% uptime while moving.
I missed DF for Endwalker. That sounds funny.
If you were here for WOTLK blood DKs were by far the worst when it comes to being broken. They used to have a buff called vengence it stack a number of times giving them the ability to hit for harder than anyclass in the game during that time period they were a tank that could tank and dps better than anyclass at that time. Safe to say it was removed and I was sad because I had to go to frost if I wanted to do dps, Unholy was a joke spec then
Yes I was, and I played one. For some reason, Frost was the popular spec on my server but no lower damage on dancing rune weapon, being able to easily solo elites, fun times.
