So marksmanship is losing pets LOL is that a joke?

You know what they need to do here…

This should be a 4th hunter spec. Or keep the option of a regular hunter pet.

I’d say make this the new marksman and add a 4th spec thats a combination of old survival and marksman, with chimera shot dots and poisons etc, with the pet of course.
That way they can have their sniper idea still and put to bed the whole ranged survival thing thats been a poison on the community for years

much easier to swap to bm for delves than to use half-baked mm with a pet

I was soloing tier 11 sub 600 ilvl as bm

I like it’s losing pets, kinda. I always saw very little difference between marks and beast, with the exception of a few attacks. next survival gets some tank to it and really lean into that name.

Marks will be able to take Tank Brann with the undermine patch so that’s kind of taking the place of a tanking pet I guess.

I trust the pet much more than Brann Jenkins lol

Maybe you’re referring to players in raiding?
What about the majority of players who are out soloing world content?
What about the majority of MM hunters in general?
I will go petless in group content but most of my play is solo. If my pet can’t hold aggro I’m very squishy.
I don’t appreciate someone trying to make this about what most players want.

They would have to do something at some point to compensate for this somehow.

We can hope, at least.

I run lone wolf in all content except for delves. pet is not needed for most solo content

Oh my… “outside of the game space” sort of implies that you don’t actually see or interact with said eagle in game. Sort of like the ancestor ghost that show up for resto shaman?

That only makes it worse.

They should theme it to the hero talents. Like a spirit owl for sentinel and maybe a Val’kyr for Dark Ranger.

GOOD.
if true, they are finally making it an actual marksman spec like it should be.
not “BM but worse”

That’s not exactly how it works.

From what they explained, the eagle won’t be a regular pet that you control directly, but instead an NPC attached to several MM Hunter spells that will come down from the sky and interact with you, your allies and enemies as and when you use your abilities.

I hope it works exactly like murder of crows. I don’t want to manage a pet at all when playing the “archer” spec

i mean before now marks hunters usually took the no pet talent so. it makes sense

I actually think this is the sort of shakeup they need to do more often. Fiddling around the edges is boring.

Im excited to see what Marksman becomes. And frankly i think they should do an overhaul of the specs on a rotating basis.

With all due respect that just means you never played the class.
The same argument was made when they deleted ranged survival “they all play the same”
MM and BM play nothing alike other than they both have a ranged weapon

I disagree fundamentally.

If you don’t care about your character as a character at all and you just want to play a game, then sure.

But WoW sells itself as a game where you can be a character in the World of Warcraft.

And it kinda sucks when you find the abilities you like and you play that character and you get attached to that character, and suddenly Blizzard decides to change your character fundamentally against your will.

No one was using pets as MM unless they got stuck on bloodlust duty in a dungeon or pvped.

I don’t know why people are treating this as a big thing.
