So marksmanship is losing pets LOL is that a joke?

The issue was that so much survivability was tied to having a pet and part of your damage was too. The 5% doesn’t mean a whole lot. It could be bigger and still not mean a whole lot, but then become unbalanced for certain modes of gameplay. PvP sucks with MM and I can tell you for a fact that you are immediately targeted. It’s okay for delves and solo content but that assumes that your pet actually decides to taunt when you click the button and it goes on cooldown. If you aren’t doing the best damage, but are generating enough threat to outpace your pet’s taunt there is something severely wrong with your class.

No not really they are Yolo’ing things together just to see what happens.

I really believe not a single developer plays WoW or has WoW on their PC. If they did they would understand how WoW works from the players perspective.

We don’t have good developers I will say it boldly. They are more interested in profit margins then player fun.

Sure it does. You say from your experience BM hunter does more damage than MM. I say that’s wrong and because of user error. You assert that the logs which are taken directly from the game are wrong and MM is underperforming so i pulled your logs to showcase it is the player, not the spec.

Its true that i dont care about the changes. Tuning is done by blizzard and MM could end up in a way worse position with the changes or a better one, it’s a coinflip and i don’t really care either. My goal isn’t to bully you though, but to correct you. From your posts its clear to see you believe your spec is underperforming even when thats not the case due to your own personal performance.

You can continue to incorrectly state the logs are wrong and MM is bad, which is a very unfun perspective to have. Or you can improve. But MM is not bad in terms of raid damage that is just untrue.

That’s not a strawman.

Welp looks like I’m continuing to never switch to MM.

You literally just said that you’re just stating the fact that I suck. Dude, I have had a long day. Drop it.

It only went there because you used personal experience as a benchmark for spec performance. I just follow the numbers. It’s an issue you can easily fix though if you seek out how to. Have a good one

We had that before without losing the ability to summon our pet.

Not even to try on an Alt? Sure from the plans a favorite pet can’t be used but interesting to see how the eagle that’s being added will work.

Nope. I’ve always hated Lone Wolf and it sounds like this “eagle” will just be a buff?

The developer note said it’s a “pet that will exist outside of the game space but continue to support you.”

Anyways, I play a Hunter for the pets.

I was sort of hoping they took the emphasis off pet for survival. I like the spec! But it absolutely requires the pet energy generation in order for it to do stuff. Which is very odd. Why does my pet give me energy! Good fido, bring gnome daddy that redbull and mountain dew. Uh…where’d…you get them…uh…nevermind! Ignorance is bliss! I never understood the reasoning behind why they decided a pet should refill a melee classes energy bar

survival is like supposed to be bonded with its pet. so it’s like teamwork all the time. that’s the idea. i like it personally. not unlike beast mastery except only one pet and fighting side by side instead of sending it at and shooting over its head.

It is - that person just doesn’t even do the content. And their claim they haven’t been good since classic is ridiculous.

I leveled a hunter Horde side recently and went Survival for a while, it was fun but agree I didn’t pick Hunter to be melee. Fun, but not what I was looking for.

I actually like MM going petless. It makes sense to me to make it the “Ranger” spec. I’m sorry to folks that like MM with a pet, I suppose the change to BM letting them focus on one pet was to appease these players. I get it isn’t the same but that is likely the biggest compromise you are going to get from Blizz for a long while.

Hopefully Blizz doesn’t drop the ball on this. Could be good.

Terrible news for me. 10 years as MARKS, always with a pet.
This may be the end of the spec.

I can imagine for some who have played as Marks with a pet for a long time and were so used to it. Having a pet on Marks was the sole reason I never played it.

This.
I started playing Beastmaster and then switched to Survival then to MM. They’ve made so many changes through the years I kept having to change. I was loving Beastmaster when they forced us to have 2 pets. Could not get used to that so went MM. Tried Survival after they overhauled it and did not like it at all. I solo play the most and really feel better with a tanky pet. But love going solo in group content. Hoping things work out ok with these changes because I am not looking forward to having 2 annoying pets by my side for BM.

I actually miss mid expansion spec changes on my shaman/rogue from TBC - MoP as it gave me something to look forward to toying with every 6 months or so.

I hate static classes and gameplay that never change.

I’ve had a hunter since 2005 but never committed to it that much because I wanted a ranger spec that doesn’t deal with a manageable pet. I can deal with it using Survival but always picked Lone Wold for MM and enjoyed that.

Glad they’re going full in on the concept of a set and forget style spec specific pet for MM. I’ll start gearing up my hunter again in anticipation for next patch.
