Hunter players have been begging for attention to and a reworking to marksman, or at least the marksman branch of skills for almost 18 years.
By pruning them? That isn’t fixing them that is hurting them.

well they look to be removing barrage too which would make aoe farming to be a huge pain as well. Have no idea why they can’t recognize some people much prefer practical to fantasy.
I main marksman. These changes will make it WAY better.

I think things should be fixed on that. Like not making a ‘it’s better now’ argument here.
I have 4 MM hunters - these changes will make 4 characters worthless because I hate BM and MM will have no value for me.

They can just make it optional in talent tree no reason to start cutting abilities.

idk what to tell you. This is a fantasy game and always has been. You have been playing the wrong MMO for just realistic gunplay.
Yes they could but I suspect they didn’t like how people were able to aoe farm with them.

Then they might as well go after mages, paladins and other classes that aoe. I wonder how many players they can get to cancel subs?
No one class could aoe farm like MM - misdirect to pet, barrage in a circle and then volley/rapid fire/aimed shot. I will miss it and to think I made hunters solely for the ability to do that.
I am not at all sorry that my class gets to be viable in PvP and PvE content now and as a consequence you can’t AoE farm as well. Actually just get over it. This game wasn’t made for you.
I am just saying that you are describing more of a lateral move. Pet utility is costing marksman dps already, thanks to lone wolf. These changes are an improvement in that regard, if because of the new eagle lust if nothing else.

Remember when volley got removed because Blizzard thought it was too magical for an archer to shoot arrows?

No because that never happened.
Barrage was rarely used, and when it was, it was misused.
Let’s not pretend like removing barrage is game breaking by any means lol. It should have been removed much sooner.

Odd you would have MM as your main if you didn’t think it is currently viable. Maybe it is a skill issue.

You could give a spell to marksman called like ‘Marked for Kill’ or something and just let them lust without a pet.
The same way a mage can throw a fireball underwater.
