It’s been like that for a while, though. I think it used to be a high population server with a number of progressing guilds.
You don’t have to do the mission table crap barely at all. And would you prefer you never get any new abilities or ways to play your class then at each expansion? The systems while not all perfect for sure give a recyclable way to give a fresh or refreshed look to each class and provide progression through the end game tiers of content. You can’t just get new spells every expansion like the first few expansions because of bloat. It is very real. If you take away the system approach you would all complain you can’t progress you character except gear.
Blizzard should connect Turalyon, along with many other servers.
You do if you want the mounts.
you don’t have a mount? there’s vendors everywhere.
Can i have your gold?
Not the mission table mounts.
One thing no one seems to ever take into consideration is that the new generation might just not like playing video games like WoW, not specifically WoW, but an MMO that takes time and investment to really enjoy and have fun.
You need to remember when this game started and how old some of us are now. People get better jobs, families, more important things to do outside this game that sometimes they just have to leave and it’s not because of the game and the next generation of gamers may just be looking for something different than an MMO.
I’m never one to defend Blizzard or take any sort of opposing side when people state the game is dying (spoiler alert - it definitely is)… but…
It’s the holidays my dude. Literally nobody is playing. It will pick back up in January. Until then level your alts, professions, make gold and just chill.
Blaming customers for not liking a product is one of my pet peeves, so guilty I guess.
Have you tried Runescape or SWTOR? There’s also City of Heroes Homecoming that I’ve been meaning to try but haven’t got to yet, and Lost Ark is high on my list.
There’s honestly a lot of other lesser known MMOs you can try out (e.g. Tree of Savior), and I always find it good to try out new things because doing the same old thing can get exhausting.
they do the same thing.
Wow has done well to have survived for this long.
I just wish it would end so something new can rise to take its place.
Or I get the StarCraft MMO.
That’s what happens when you don’t have a PTR.
Even if they were capable of admitting they had made mistakes, I don’t think they’re able to give the playerbase they have (or had) the respect required to want to create a game for players. My feeling is they’re still blaming the playerbase for their rejection of the most perfectly designed expansion ever. And they’re going to stay the course toward whatever end goal they have. For sure this debacle will turn itself around if they do nothing different.
Are you saying that nobody has left? I’m not understanding your point. The same complaints have been discussed many, many times in the forum. Most people have a list of things that were really bothering them when their “quit moment” happened.
The most successful MMO’s are the ones that have the fewest quit moments. That’s one reason why new player retention is so bad. Finding out what their game’s quit moments are and eliminating them is what every responsible team should do.
And it’s just a coincidence that all these players happened to move on in their lives after a couple of expansions were unpopular? Just blizzard players quit gaming, not those other companies that have seen growth lately?
The issue is that they don’t care about player retention, which is the most important thing about keeping a massive game like this one profitable. They need lots of paying customers. It doesn’t help to make an effort to bring in new players if they’re likely to quit when they find out the game they got doesn’t resemble the advertisement.
Come on, a new player came to the forum after buying a boost and finding out that the ad “buy wow and boost to play with your friends” didn’t mean they were going to be able to play with their friends anytime soon. I read the ad and was surprised at the time that they seemed to be pushing boosts on new players. And that player got trashed and told they were lying. Great community.
Yeah I noticed the same in my server as well. It really started from 9.0.5 when they made hunters pretty much unplayable. Hunters quit. Their friends leave. Guilds disband. Chain effect till present state…
although i’d like to play SoM i don’t have high hopes tbh. i feel like it will turn out like how classic did with nothing in the end but constant boosting after it dies down. then they will release TBC SoM and same issue. then WOTLK classic and same issue. it’s already happening in retail as well but people still do content on their own.
people will quit for various reasons though could just be irl stuff they have to deal with over WoW or w.e.
for me i came back after my break trying out SL now trying to get more into the content since i left which was pretty much right after launch/first raid came out but i strongly feel like if the next expac isn’t good on my personal terms im done already. i don’t think i can take another expac if i don’t enjoy it.
not to say the game is bad that just depends on the individual but if like me the one major thing that makes the game bad for me is all my friends quit. i’ve been playing solo since pretty much SL launch as i skipped through BfA due to irl circumstances ( mom passing away ). tried joining guilds but it’s pretty much a miss since most guilds i can’t do much with besides M+. thats why im trying to find a guild rn i can raid with that fits my schedule so i can make friends i can play with. playing with friends to me is what makes this game bearable especially during content droughts or if you think it sucks.
I think Blizzard needs to release the next expansion as soon as possible instead of pull everyone through the next patch. 9.2 won’t save this game.
Perhaps a 10.0 could bring back the lost subs.
I don’t think they are capable of doing that, though. I don’t think their workforce is ready to step up to the challenge. They are probably still in the process of hiring that will come before a long training period for the new employees.
just want to share as well. So When i started I invited a irl friend who played forsaken, to play. He in turn invited 5 more of our irl friends so we ended up with nearly 20 who gamed together (back when you could play wow on a simple laptop) shortly it cut in half, the younger ones went to college, some moved, but we were all in this huge developed guild raiding. Naturally Cata came out and we lost 5 immediately… Collectively we changed servers and lost the guild. Then Pandaland cost two more. These are irl friends mind you. So that was a psychological hit irl. Around Bfa 3 of us remained one got divorced and the other passed away. Only i remained and found an amazing Guild raided like military (none were, just college people) But the collective was amazing till one power hungry spark. They jumped servers to get away from one element. This time i moved with them. Then it became evident who the bad elements truly were when things happened all over again. This is important, because I literally helped a new player begin, who eventually built a guild and became the GM Raidemaster… And after 4 yrs, He stopped playing. it happens, over and over. Its more heart breaking on a dead server, naturally, but playing on livly servers can help. Ive been in a guild now for a year with yet another player i helped with his first toon. Its relationship building. The holidays are coming, so prep by playing a Magtar orc or Alli equivalent on a different server. Combined server like nazgrel or Gilneas. You can research which servers are combined and closer to you for better gameplay. Good Luck!
