Compairing a zg pug to a Naxx guild run is like Compairing a hotdog to a fillet mignon.
But you reinforced my statement that it can and does happen. I never said it’s gonna happen in every raid. But you did try and say it will never happen.

bookmark this thread and get back to me – all of us, really – when you have proof of your claims.
i do not need more notifications about your copes.
I was told I have to have 2 different combat specs for Naxx.
One with 2 points in murder (More damage to humans, beasts etc). Use that in spider wing and human mobs.
One with those 2 points moved into imp eviscerate for all the wings that are all undead mobs as Murder talent doesn’t apply to undead.
That’s one example from one class from just my personal experience.
yup
2 DPS builds, with tiny differences just based on one or two talents to maximize damage on certain bosses.
Apparently you have great difficulty just pressing SUNDER ARMOR so you’ll never be in a guild where this will be an issue for you, Eyr.
I really shouldn’t make your own arguments for you, but since your fears will never be materialize in reality:
maybe you could claim that some Molten Core PUG you joined on your Mage alt was insisting that you Dual Spec from Fire to Frost?
And how that’s completely unreasonable and how you’re going to quit Era forever because that sorta demand never ever ever ever existed before Blizzard ruined Era by adding Dual Spec?
Yep, I believe so. I played it a bit when it first came out and then never touched it since. I actually always wanted to, because I thought it was really cool that they just straight up added Pokemon to WoW and I do like collection things, but I never did. I always thought of it as a rainy day thing if I ever got bored of M+. Turned out I got jaded on retail and quit before that happened.
I’m not 100% sure but I think I heard somewhere that they might be phasing it out of retail? If so, it sounds like I missed my chance. I suspect I’ll be ok though.
Minor correction here. You can’t swap in a battleground, either before or after the warm up time. I tested this over the weekend. So at least there’s that ![]()

That would be kinda cool. It was a good chance in WoTLK when we got pet tabs and mount tabs. Less wasted inventory space (which is precisely why I never cared about either before WoTLK) and it was something to pursue outside of raiding or PVP (or instead of, if you werent interested in raids or PVP).
Ive never seen a “i dont want duel spec” post explain why they dont want duel spec…
why is that cool ![]()
you could try reading the posts in this thread ![]()
That’s just loaded enough of a statement that I’m going to go out on a limb and say your 16 posts isn’t genuine. Odds are pretty good you have seen a post such as you describe, you just don’t agree.
Because they added this whole collection minigame to WoW that’s completely parallel to the core of WoW, impacts it in no way, and offers thousands of hours of entertainment. It’s entirely free, coming with your active subscription, and I’m not even sure there’s any monetization surrounding it. When it launched, pets weren’t even being offered on the Blizzard store.
Even though it’s something I don’t choose to engage with, Blizzard earned a lot of respect in my books with this addition.
Except a brief period in wod when you could level from 1-100 in a few hours manipulating pvp pet battles
Fun times
I totally wouldn’t abuse pet battles for gain though >.>
WoW players would never abuse unintended game system interactions… ![]()
(we still joke about the AQ40 wall almost every AQ40 raid…)
I blame blizzard, giving basically a quests worth of xp for winning a pvp pet battle was just asking for it.
2 accounts in off hours win trading was crazy xp.
Like I would never have used RAF and 5 dollar battle chests to print a bunch of free level 60s in og wrath… kekw
It’s just a bummer that Blizzard has continued, repeated issues providing a version of the game that people enjoyed in 2005. They just can’t help themselves from making changes until we have several dozen versions of the game offering new experiences, and none providing the one we wanted.
I’m still not entirely sure who felt this was necessary. I would be genuinely curios to know how many people returned to Era for dual spec and how many people stayed because it was added. Only Blizzard could determine the answer to that and I promise you, they won’t share.
I’m pretty chase averse, but I’m ok with ones that adapt the game to make it playable in light of modern practices. Like, I get that folks don’t like the boon, but it did have the intended impact of letting people play their raiding characters outside of raids without risk of losing their world buffs. It is for this reason I will continue to advocate for the removal of honour breakpoints in PvP. Some big issues that have arisen out of the new honour system and those are getting worse and worse as Era’s population shrinks.
I don’t really see dual spec in this category though because whatever your activity, there was a spec that would make you more than good enough for anything you wanted to do in the game. For those who wanted to hyper-optimize the game to achieve peak performance, that respec cost was never really an issue. It’s a drop in the bucket compared to what is spent purchasing consumables on the AH every week.
As I said in my OP though, it’s here now and I just don’t think it’s really worth the effort to continue to advocate for it’s removal. The diminishment of the otherwise robust Vanilla talent system is just something I will shed a tear about from time to time, and then carry on smiting my foes ![]()
Oh so you’re not quitting? I misinterpreted your OP. My bad.
You started a whole thread just to say you’re just gonna shut up and keep playing?
It is yet another telltale clue about no TBC Era.
If they’re not planning on maintaining era servers for TBC and Wrath, then they’re trying to make Vanilla-Era as attractive as possible for more than just the Vanilla purists; a vacation spot for other demographics while they wait on their new content to arrive.
Why would Vanilla need Dual Spec if the rest of the trilogy is going to have it, assuming they were planning on greenlighting era for TBC/Wrath?
lol, no, I’m not. Not over this, anyway.
Could very well be, though to me the real draw of TBC and WotLK Era servers would be the ability to access the content. I continue to not understand Blizzard’s motivation behind what they’re doing with the Classic IP.
