So Class specific gear cant be collected for mog by other classes correct? Like my hunter cant pick up an item from a legacy boss marked “warrior” and have it added to mog collection for my warrior right?

From what I understand, that is correct. You cannot collect warrior set items on a priest. You cannot collect warrior legacy items on a hunter and so on.

Wait, what? Well that kind of negates the primary reason I was excited for this (not having to watch all the uncollected xmog gear I get in raids get thrown away, as I always get gear for whatever class I’m not on). I’m without words…

Hmm i just did on my Priest. I learned appearance that was plate. Is that what you mean?
Going to need to kill some raid bosses to be sure, but class restricted gear should be unlocked as well.

No no guys you dont understand, of course we can collect mogs for other Types of armor like my hunter can now collect plate, cloth leather etc and it goes right to appearances collected, what Im talking about is class specific, some gear is labelled “warrior” or “priest” that gear seems to not be collected.

Exactly, the sets from raids tend to be class specifc which negates the biggest reason I was excited for it. So I still have to farm those sets on all classes (and they only tend to drop for the character that isn’t that class, it’s so frustrating, and it never fails).

- Class set tokens from legacy raids (Shadowlands and earlier) are now Warbound and can be transferred to characters on the account.
- Developer’s note: Based on community feedback and to match our overall philosophy on transmog collection, class set tokens from legacy raids (Shadowlands and earlier) are now Warbound, allowing them to be transferred to alts in order to collect the transmog of your choice. For clarity, current expansion tier set tokens will remain unchanged from their previous status of bind on pickup, as they represent a large amount of power for the character who collects them.

Ya this is annoying and really it DOES completely defeat the purpose of this accountwide mogging system, I mean why run all the raids ever created on my main hunter to collect mogs when Ill just have to do it again over and over on all my alts? its really a head scratcher.

Agreed 100%, the stuff that isn’t class specific is usually BOE (mailable to another character) or learnable by the current character (weapons, backs, etc. tend to be the non class specific stuff). So what exactly is this new system fixing short of saving me having to mail it to the appropriate alt?

Thats kool but I have a ton of mog in my bank labelled “warrior” etc and it cant be collected, but good to know the tokens will be collectable.
I’m under the impression that you can trade the tokens to the class that can use them I order to unlock them. The only exception is legion and vanilla raids that don’t actually drop tokens and instead drop class specific gear. Therefore they must be collected on said class. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Considering legion has some of the best class sets imo

Ya thats exactly what Im talking about, I got like 50 pieces in my bank with labels on them that I cant add to my mogs.

No, you can still get mog items for plate if it is looted on a clothie. Only class specific items like the set items with class specific bonuses, the seasonal items, and the legacy/legendary class specific items you cannot learn those from a different class.
For example, this toon, my priest, is wearing the 4 piece season 4 set. Only she can collect this transmog. A plate wearer or even a mage cannot collect it because it is specifically for only a priest.
All other gear that is generic can be collected by any class. If it is a plate piece that any plate wearer can use, you can collect that for a transmog on any toon. If it is an item that any leather wearer can use, you can collect that on any toon, and so forth.

Yea I’ve been trying to collect the onslaught armor from mythic tomb of sargaras. On my warrior. So I’ve been running it on all my toons bc I was originally under the impression I’d be able to trade it through warband system. So finding out I can’t is seriously depressing lol

“plate” isnt a class, lol
you can learn cloth, mail and plate on any character. if its marked a “monk only” or “warrior only” then you can only learn it on those classes

AKA the majority of sets from legacy raids which is what i’m mostly missing still. I have all the non class specific items, it’s the class specific ones that are much harder to get (as the chances of getting a drop I can use goes from 1 in 4 (cloth/leather/mail/plate) to 1 in 10+ (that specific class)). So it goes from 1 in 4 to guarenteed for the generic stuff, but the class specific stuff is still just as hard (and will require me to continue to run them on all classes over and over).
