One thing to bear in mind for many pieces and sets is that the class set appearances are used for the various random armour pieces that drop throughout the raid. So if you’re looking at needing the Warrior tier chest for example, the random plate chest from X boss might unlock that Warrior tier appearance anyway (and simultaneously be usable on non-Warrior classes).
There are certainly some items that have no alternative, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Yeah i reread what i said and knew it wasn’t what OP was talking about. A duh moment.
So, I’ve looted some class-specific tier items and they’re not being learned. Pretty silly to have everything else be warband unlocked except these.

Yeah, I’m aware of that, but being a completionist, my focus is all item id’s, not appearance ids.

I think its such a strange philosophy - Blizzard did this great thing, and explains that everything unlocks, for all classes, except for this one thing. Why have an exception? Would love if all of it was unlocked, and am confused that tier tokens can be traded, but class items can not unlock. Please fix this.

IN the link above it says
This system will expand to allow players on one character to add class-specific items they can’t equip to their Transmog collection. It will allow a player on a mage character to collect a warrior item and add it to the Transmog collection for use on a warrior character instead.
So what we have now is just another bug for 11.0.
Blizzard sure loves ruining a good QoL feature with unneeded restrictions.

It also says
Class-specific appearances are an exception and will still be collectible only by that specific class.
And this is the thing I have an issue with.

Their “class fantasy” argument is really dumb too since a lot of class-specific pieces share appearances with non-class pieces.

so…a plated priest mog can now be a thing?
well, that’s a cool idea!
You can mail the class gear and even tier tokens to the characters that can use them
What do you mean? How can a priest wear plate mog?
When it’s not specifically labeled as “plate” and is just “cosmetic”. Case in point - any of the Heritage sets, Trading Post sets, or Shop sets that clearly look like plate armor, but aren’t.

THey have said from the first announcment that class gear was still locked to that class. Kind of have been on all the articles too.
No you cant unless I misunderstand what you are saying? Tokens yes, class specific gear no.
Not yet but that is what is going to happen. I believe they said it is bug that ti is has not kicked in yet.
Even if they have, it defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE of it. Everything else I could just mail / trade to an alt before.

They should really expand warbound to non-token tier pieces. Makes no sense.
would be, but not yet.
You can collect a lot of plate appearances on your priest, but daddy Bliz still says NO to the actually using the plate appearances on priest…even though the cross appearance thing has been going on since classic, lol
These are all PLATE WEARING Death Knights mogged in ‘plate’ appearances, lol

Weird cause I already did that on the 1st day. It said Warbound and everything on the gear. Unless they disabled it for the Warbank fixxing?
