Most of them did, why do you think Blizzard is now making changes scrambling to get them back, like adding cross faction? The writing is on the wall and I think a lot of the “l33ts” who were used to be catered to are seeing this shift in Blizzard’s mentality, hence why we’ve seen a lot of flailing and toxicity the past few days overtly attacking “casuals”.
It’s a shared space and y’all need to learn to share, because changes are coming.
Can’t say i’ve seen much of this “attacking casuals” what I mostly see is people acting like they’re finally getting their revenge on some really vague group of people who are apparently maliciously preventing them from gearing.
Adding cross faction is not going to make those who have avoided group content suddenly do group content lol that’s seriously your argument?
Changes have been happening all along. It’s been more and more casual friendly since MoP and ability pruning. But you keep riding that high horse until your moment comes sir!
Aye, can’t say I’ve seen the attacks on casuals either. It’s still the same old “you’re keeping me from doing this” type of posts, as always
The real cringe is attacking people who enjoy playing a video game. Some of these self-described “casuals” are so radical about this game they have to attack people IRL rather than just playing the damn game and accepting the way the game works.
Knocking the chess pieces off the table, slamming your plate of tendies on the ground, screeching like a lunatic, and then storming off and claiming your opponent “has no life” because they beat you… that’s cringe. Just stop.
They pretend they’re victimized so they can attempt to justify their gross behavior. Someone is “preventing them from getting gear” so it gives them the right to go after other players of the game.
It’s like, just stop. Just stop it. If you can’t put up a valid argument, then you’ve lost. Attacking other players is not a winning strategy and doesn’t make you look good in any way, it just makes you look unhinged. Stop.
As a benevolent filthy casual myself - I simply enjoy various raiding & dungeons, especially the ones that offer fun unique rewards or achievements. The higher tier gear also helps when I wanna engage in PVP or warmode too.
The higher tier raids & dungeons are sadly usually filled with elitists, so I generally hit the mid-high range keys and haul out more heroic raiding than mythic. But those can be lots of fun too.
Personally, I have never said I need or expect high end gear for my casual play style. I want to be able to get gear that is comfortably behind the tier curve at my own pace (and without an insane/punitive attachment to it).
Attacking casuals as “do nothings”, literally first post.
Openly insulting mental disabilities.
Insinuating it’s only a selfish desire.
Flat out saying casuals are undeserving.
Outright gaslighting.
Insinuating the casual is just “lazy” and wants “free stuff”.
Dang, bro, you’re just full of “not attacks” and “not insults” aren’t you?
Some more of that “not attacking casuals”.
Where in history have we seen THIS mentality before?
Outright trying to shut down opposing viewspoints.
Reducing the entire discussion down to “casuals are just entitled”.
Literally saying there’s no point to add alternative progression because “Casuals” will still complain.
More of the same.
Bro just keeps insisting it’s “wanting free stuff”.
More and more of the “casuals just want free stuff”.
Except that’s exactly what Mr. Grizzle is doing because people aren’t asking for free stuff, they’re asking for alternative methods such as Torghast dropping gear or systems similar to the corruptions last expac…but what do you expect from someone who said adding alternative paths is pointless cause “casuals are just complainers”?
Gee, some more of that “not attacking casuals”.
Even MORE stating that it’s just cause “casuals are lazy and want free stuff”
Seriously, that’s just this thread, but yeah it’s just:
It isn’t an attack on a player to call them bad. That’s just just a descriptor for their skill level in the game. An attack on a player is calling them fat or implying they have no life simply because you disagree with them.
Alpha had torghast drop gear when you timed it with the original timer
Your general discussion colleagues demanded blizzard to remove that timer because they wanted to spend 20 hours at the first floor or something due to IRL problems, so they also removed everything that came from said timer
Raiders don’t need high end gear either. They beat it in gear below their rewarded gear anyways
Only raiders who want max rewards are those looking for handouts
Wow, projecting much? If you don’t mythic raid, you don’t need mythic raid gear. That goes for EVERYONE below mythic raiding. Not just casuals. Don’t PvP? Don’t need 2400 ranking pvp gear.
You’re part of that crowd that:
Never mentioned the word casuals. I mentioned an attitude. Reduces the discussion down to “entitlement attitude is bad”. Has nothing to do with casuals. Again, you’re projecting.
Yes. They have multiple avenues to progress and they wont do it. Why add another option they wont do?
Because it’s not wrong.
What is it when you want something you don’t work for? Free stuff
I want more things without doing more things = free stuff
Like dungeons, raids, timewalking, world quests, torghast. All these things exist and they wont do them.
Have yet to come across an actual raider making this demand as well. But see “casuals” making it all the time. Weird.
Will admit that it IS kind of comically clownish to see the same couple of people tripling down on their attacks and pretending they’re the “good guys”.
Uhh ya it is. Lol. Where do you work, because I’m sure the discourse at your job isn’t like that. Oh that’s Jim, he’s bad at his job, but we’re nice to him!
Lol.
Problem is people have next to no apathy for others and online it just comes out way more.
there is a vast section of the wow community that actually don’t want to play WoW and have simply tricked themselves into thinking they want to. WoW has been a progression based game since it’s dawn, it ain’t like OW where it’s a balanced system where everyone is on an equal playing field.
My own perception and opinion:
I think the bigger problem is power disparity between ilvls and ilvl inflation. Used to be that raiders would have better gear but it wouldn’t elevate them to such an insane degree as it does today compare to casual gear. A 226 to 252 disparity is far greater than t5 to t6 was. The power difference is what makes people upset, I think.
I don’t know if that’s the real reason (again my perception), but ilvl inflation has been a touchy subject for some time now.
Your analogy is actually just dumb. Imagine actually thinking you made a counter-point. Lol and cringe. It’s strange that I need to explain this to you, but hobby =/= performance-rated source of income that is someone’s livelihood.
Nobody cares if someone else knows they’re not good at gardening in their backyard. If you’re bad at gardening, you’re bad at gardening, that’s not a personal insult, that just describes your skill level or dedication to your hobby.
It isn’t an insult to describe someone’s skill level playing WoW as “not very good”. An insult would be to say they’re not capable of learning how to play, they’ve got fat fingers because they refuse to control their eating, they’re an unmotivated pot smoker, etc. Those are attacks at who they are as a personality. Those are insults.
