You can just run around in circles screaming “GET IT OF ME GET IT OFF ME!” to handle being lit on fire or poisoned.
Though honestly, I think it’ll depend a bit on a few factors. Especially just how difficult or easy raid bosses are compared to private servers.
As I understand it, a big reason why they can ignore resists is because they do so much DPS it doesn’t really matter unless the damage is high enough to be potentially lethal even with healing.
Our guild in vanilla had 40 people decked out in full T2 and as much T2.5 as posible and Huhuran was impossible for us to down until we worked on our nature resist.
From what I understand, we have much better knwoledge of Pre-Raid BiS… and talent formation… and we stack classes… in order to achieve the amount of DPS where resist gear or many mechanics doesn’t matter anymore.
But from the evidence I’ve seen, private servers are actually more difficult.
Trust me, I hope your’e right, but I don’t want you to get your hopes up.
With how we are getting patch 1.12, almost all the gear is going to be significantly better… just in phase two we will get AQ equivalent gear even before BWL gear.
The dungeon gear will be better than a lot of MC gear…
There are a lot of factors that are pointing to unfortunately it may be easier thna private servers.
Is there any real evidence showing the authenticity of private servers. Without this, everything is up in the air.
I’m more inclinded to believe my memories and the millions of others that claimed to have struggled in Vanilla raids especially AQ and Naxx. Then the hundreds of thousands that claim a private server are authentic and raids are roflstomped.
If it is anything like vanilla then yes you will need resistance. Huhu forsure but later on when the whole guild is geared you can prolly ignore FR on most players except tank. I never did Sapph in vanilla.
There was an article a few months ago in EU of a Blizz employee stating that p-servers are way off, but there are some on this forum who swear they are 99% accurate. To each their own on it.
To be fair, millions of players didn’t run Naxx in Vanilla. I doubt millions even did AQ40.
Raiding at the high tiers was always a niche thing in Vanilla.
As for the earlier raids, keep in mind we’re using 1.12 balance and a lot of people are going to remember how Molten Core was in earlier patches when classes weren’t as strong.
With private servers we know they aren’t 100% accurate but it depends a lot on which way they went when they had to guess/estimate things.
For example we know they didn’t have proper values for raid boss armour, but it’s entirely possible that the value they did use was higher than that of real Vanilla. There’s no proof that it’s higher or lower, but either scenario IS possible.
It’s not outside the realm of possibility that private servers are harder, and optimizing things just made Vanilla raiding not what we remember it to be.
Of course, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that they got it all wrong and Vanilla raiding is what we remember it to be.
Only Blizzard truly knows the numbers until Classic drops.
From what I have looked into, since I have not actually played on the private servers.
Only Tanks need FR, if you can get it great but do not sacrifice dps for it. If you take half the damage but kill the boss half as fast, that is no less healing for your healers and twice as long to have people screw up or get unlucky.
As for NR I think you need 15 people in melee need NR everyone else does not need NR.
I am not sure about Frost Res for Sapphiron since I have not done too much looking into Naxx.
As Kelzar said, in MC only tanks need FR, and melee could do with a little bit. Also people neglect to realize that for casual and semi-hardcore guilds, these raids are more challenging. I’ve been in quite a few “chill” guilds where we had maybe 20 people carrying 15 people and almost always 5 afk people. When it comes to that kind of guild all the raids become challenging. Hardmode MC comes when your MT and OT are pounding beers and your healers are all stoned as f***. Not everyone is going to run an optimized guild, and people are certainly going to take their time to clear raids. I’m sure we’ll see a variety of guilds to suite each person’s play style.
Nobody claims private servers are authentic. Private servers are even harder. They are way overtuned and there is progressive itemization of most of them. Your inclination is based on something like apple re releasing the original iphone and saying it would be equally as hard to understand how it works now because you remember it being hard in 2007.
