So if Horde AV cave was moved back in TBC

Ask yourself why it was deemed unfair and moved and then ask yourself if the same conditions apply in classic. Horde having the ability to shut alliance out of all bonus honor is happening in classic just like it did in tbc.

My argument is that Blizzard went in knowing they were only going to make the 1.12 version of the game. and that any person believing they were going to change specific things to other patches since they are on a biast belief to be “better” or they linked that version more is silly. They said its 1.12 and everything will be 1.12 the only change is raid/gear release times but all the tuning is based on 1.12. there was 0 chance they are doing a full recreating of how the game launched to how it was in pre-tbc patch. that would be an astronomical amount of work for that even Blizz didnt believe in as we say with what 6 original servers (somewhere between 6-10 I cant remember)…

Honor is faction relative in Classic though, unlike in TBC

I think he was speaking at in more general terms. Not everybody that plays this game takes time away from work and family to power grind their own toons. I am not saying the cave shouldn’t be moved back, I think it should since Blizzard eradicated the numerous NPCs.

But I have noticed that when I played Alliance from Wrath through MoP, some alliance pug teams don’t put it any effort to win. On my horde alt toons during those expansions, I noticed the horde pugs try to work together even if players aren’t liking each other.

Wait, but alliance got crusader aura in TBC too, so we both still moved at the same rate…

I would agree that Blizzard went ahead with full knowledge that Classic would be 1.12. I understand the reasoning behind it too, to speed up development.

But to suggest the players wanted this version of AV, especially since Korak’s Revenge was dropped on Retail at the same time is a very odd position to have taken. Especially with the mountains of posts pre-launch about the problems a 1.12 AV would cause.

When WHAT was announced? Classic, or 1.12?
edit: that video is the announcement of classic, NOT 1.12.

What an awkward backpedal.

Alliance didn’t have to put in much effort for a lot of that time period. Horde rolled over for them. It made alliance complacent so that when horde started defending again, alliance start losing the majority of games.

This map is making horde complacent. They’ve convinced themselves they’re just better and it’s not a map advantage. Unfortunately, I don’t think Blizzard will give us an older version or move the cave so we’re stuck with this worst version in classic.

Never said players wanted 1.12 AV in particular. But that was never going to happen… They made classic using 1.12 and they said everything was how it was on that patch the only difference is raid release/some gear release dates. They were not going to recreate random patches. The classic team is different than the retail team. The retail team is MUCH bigger with alot more money for development. The classic team was created to recreate an old client to work with the legion client. To use a bad metaphor lets say people who can only recreate 1 patch try to create other content. Lets use GOT show writters who where there to recreate a book series start writting their own ending…That turned out wonderful…

It is difficult to say that Koraks revenge was in retail since they had alot more devs working on it. There was an old interview where Blizzard let out the classic team was pretty small in comparison since they rly didnt expect Classic to be a big hit.

Seems we have met in the middle ground. /salute.

Maybe you should scroll up and reconsider what you yourself has actually been posting.

I said no one wanted 1.12 AV though. Especially after Blizzard said they wanted to recreated the Vanilla experience. Many people took Korak’s Revenge (wrongfully in hindsight) as Blizzard trying to recreated 1.5 for Classic.

You can see why the players expected 1.5. But saying they should have always expected 1.12 doesn’t change the fact that no one wanted it.

Not 1 person wanted the 1.12 patch?.. The moment There were whispers about recreation of vanilla I assumed 1.12 withe either raid releases or all at once with a date lockout. But then again I am a realist and not some kid living with some crazy expectations for a 15 year old version of a game that is going to be recreated…

Not 1 person wanted 1.12 AV. I think a lot of the confusion is conflating the two. You can have the 1.12 balance changes and content updates on the 1.5 AV map.

No changes unless it benefits the Horde. Like the backdoor that they created into Dun Baldar by the South Bunker. It’s actually a huge waste of time posting here. Blizzard doesn’t care at all about you. If they cared about fair games they would have changed the map. They don’t care. They will only intervene if the alliance figures out a way to gain a competitive advantage.

Making that one change opens the floodgates for more changes to 1.5. Why cant we have X changed to 1.5? what about items could we have them changed to the 1.5 version/or talents/or etc… I believe that having the raids timed out is the only change they made and it most likely had someone in a meeting trying to convince Blizzard to allow phases instead of just lumping the full game out. Thats neither here or there about what happened internally but the fact is they required the game client to be on the legion client and recreating 1 part would open up multiple changes which leads down a bad road. The only change we got was raid release times, which im happy about.

Wat? I am not arguing we change the map now. All I said was no one wanted the 1.12 version of AV.

The fact that we’re doing old content with the 1.12 balance patch proves it could have been done. However, what is done-is-done.

I am not really sure what you’re trying to argue though, or what point you’re trying to make other than “people should have expected it.”

Stop crying. Holy hell. It’s your fault you didn’t rank when allies were premading and getting 6 min wins by exploit pulling Drek. Now enjoy your 1% win ratio in AV. Cy@

Possible yes. Its also possible that EA re-releases WAR and fixes the game. There is a difference between what is possible and what is practical. I would love the best parts of vanilla to be all in one. But that isnt realistic from the Developers perspective. They had a clear vision and mark to hit and that means having the patch they had most data on 1.12 and making that patch work on the legion client with Bnet integration, with a small team. Sure some people wanted X and some wanted Y but Blizz isnt some ignorant child they know what people wanted and what was practical to release. Patch 1.12 was known from very early on and it was expected by myself and many others.

You know why - because it was like that in vanilla.
