So if a 900g BoE drops for the group

Right. You were going to be wrong. Glad we have that cleared-up.

One could also argue that if you already knew I was going to be unfair, having conditions on responding is already an evasion.

I think the main reasoning goes back to what’s most pragmatic. We roll Greed on greens if it’s not an upgrade and Need if we do because almost every green doesn’t have a huge amount of worth. So it’s better for someone who needs it to to have it as it’s more important overall.

But for a Blue or Purple, even if it is an upgrade for someone, the level of impact most of these have for anyone regardless of it’s an upgrade (or if they can even use it), is so large that it I believe it overrides the normal rule. While these can help someone dps, tank, or heal better, it can also prevent dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of farming for an epic mount. Or they can use the gold laterally for an upgrade themselves by using the gold to buy another blue or purple.

That’s how I’ve always seen it. Personally, even if I did get a BoE purple myself that was a large upgrade, I’d probably still put it on the AH regardless (assuming it’s not a BiS) because the gold is more important.

But now that I mention BiS, I think an exception can be made for that. Not sure how many BiS bind-on-equips there are though.

for warrior? a lot.

edgemaster, krol blade, cloudkeeper ledplate, medaillon of grand marshall morris, boots of avoidance and more.

there’s also item who are not BIS but people act like they are anyway ( skullflame shield, destiny…).

For caster or healers? … truefaith, robe of the archmage, robe of the void ( by a tiny marging)… not much really.

melee have a lot more to gain from the NBG rule than caster and healers.

Well, that’s really neither here nor there. I mean, technically speaking, we were never going to know whether I was wrong or right because you could have simply responded that I was incorrect if you didn’t like my response.

I think the important thing we’ve learned here is that you don’t like to play by the rules when you don’t like the conditions and that you aren’t particularly interested in your behavior matching your word.

That said, I’m relieved that you’re not playing on my faction because I do suspect your character traits might rise to you ninja-looting, perhaps inadvertently, based on the stakes of the loot.

I’ll be clear on this though: I didn’t know you were going to be unfair. I’m not even sure I think you’re being unfair–you’re simply refusing to abide by the bargain.

–but also true.

Perhaps. We can speculate but it won’t give us actionable information.

What we can do, however, is see that in this very thread a bargain was struck with you that you didn’t like so you refused to abide by the terms. That’s salient to this discussion, as I explained in my previous post.

Don’t need it.

Well in those cases I think they should have priority and everyone else should roll Greed.

Yeah, I’ll never understand the need to posting on Classic Characters, only, when it comes to posting in the Classic WoW Forums.

I feel like you and I still had a constructive discussion without either of us posting on a particular character.

I don’t blame you for feeling that way. From my perspective, however, it’s key that we understand the characteristic traits you’re exhibiting in this discussion and the implications that has in terms of your being a team-player and your behavior during a dungeon run.

It’s more important for us rather than you.

Of course, that does beg the question of who you are playing in the game. That gives me deeper perspective as to why you might be more wiling to conceal your main character that I hadn’t fully considered earlier.

Sometimes I’m just posting on the wrong toon but your situation seems more…complex.

Hey now, don’t let him shift the argument here.

He was the one who claimed one’s forum toon was relevant to one’s stance.

I simply asked him to show me his character so I could evaluate his claim. That’s just basic logic and evidentiary rules–I didn’t create the situation he finds himself in.

Right, but if we want to move forward, you’re going to have to answer, so…

I mean or not. That’s fine too. Let’s just keep dancing. I’m sure the other people would be thrilled to have a bunch of nonsense clogging-up their otherwise respectful and civilized thread.

Totally Agree. Me getting my epic mount or twinking out my alt is more important than an actually gameplay upgrade for someone else.

I gets mine.

My stance is still the same. Doesn’t matter what character we post on.

The only thing this individual expressed to me was regarding my “main”, to which I nipped, right away.

But you’re right. I’m straying off topic here.

I would say a small portion of players come to the forums and an even smaller portion of players visit the realm forums. A lot of people don’t even know they exist. The discussions in LFG, trade, guild chat and so on is the stick used to measure how many players are taking this seriously. On my server it’s quite a bit.

This shows the attitude the server has for shenanigans:

A lot of ninjas and several ninja guilds have disappeared. You can phoo phoo blacklists all you like, but people do pay attention. And they don’t forget.

The difference is at 60 all you do is blue and purple content. At every other level you do not.

Even assuming you’re right, do you think the players have also disappeared?

Yep. Poof Transferred, quit or rerolled.

mixing in bad faith argument while twisting other people words.

very classy. Is that what they teach in college nowadays?

Now you’re going to have to complete the claim. 1) provide evidence and 2) provide evidence that it’s at a greater rate than standard guild/player evaporations and simple rerolls that are not tied to blacklists.

… otherwise, it’s just another baseless claim.
