So I just did my first Mythic+ and Understand why Raider.IO is a thing

A tank won’t be learning Necrotic in a +2 either, considering the only affixes at that level are fortified and tyrannical.

It’s impossible to learn mechanics in those unless people are taking off gear or everyone is really low iLvl. Just one geared person can carry people through the mechanics. In a lot of cases just one person handling the mechanics lets people get through with out even noticing them.

And this is true every step of the way. You don’t learn the mechanics until the mechanics force you to. You can do a 10 fine, but then you get into 15 and suddenly there’s things you never noticed that you have to interrupt and places you have to use your defensive CD’s.

Normal dungeons don’t have all the mechanics and heroics are often filled with people that kill everything instantly because they’re overgeared for the instance, people should just do 0s if they want to practice how the dungeon works.

That’s fine. Those still help you get an idea of what the dungeon looks like and what the bosses do. As for higher keys, I think it’s time for people to join a guild or get some friends to go up and learn affixes and higher keys with.

You can’t expect to do that in some random’s key when they are just putting the key up to finish it with people that know what to do. Just like groups looking to fill for a missing spot in their mythic raid… They’re not going to take someone that hasn’t even cleared normal.

It’s common for a lot of players, new or experienced, to start treating the game like it’s single player. “Oh I need X from Y dungeon, I’m just gonna wing it”. That’s how we get people in +5’s and +6’s, especially tanks for some reason, who have literally never done that dungeon on any other difficulty before and think it’s just gonna be fine. It’s not fair to the 4 other people in the group that their time get wasted in the name of patience and community. You(the royal you, and not you specifically who I am replying to) are not the responsibility of the group. They don’t owe you the clear. If you’ve never done it before, DON’T GO AND DO IT ON A MYTHIC KEY FOR YOUR FIRST TRY. They are people not NPCs, and it isn’t fair to them.

I cringe at the memory of a +6 KR (or something like a 6, it’s been a minute) back in 8.1. When we got to the instance and zoned in, I was the key-holder, the tank goes “Never done this one before hehe, patience please”. Nah bro.

In a +2? You’re so edgy. If you can’t explain things quickly to people in a +2 you’re the problem, not the inexperienced guy.

I’ve run with plenty of tanks who are sane, helpful people that quickly and concisely outline what they want for every fight. Minimum of words, minimum of fuss, no one rages, run goes smoothly.

Being mature, cool-headed and not a toxic munchkin is worth any +1000 IO points.

I agree, people should be putting in the effort. Sometimes though you just make idiot of yourself, and everyone is going to do it at some point.

The one I remember best is around a +6 SotS. The trash mob with the carve you have to stand in the ward for. Up to that point it either hit someone else or the healer could heal through it. So even though I’d done the dungeon many times, was geared appropriately, had timed a 5 no problem, I didn’t know the mechanic and i was the idiot that killed the key.

So while people should be putting in the effort, at this point with all the catch up and the sheer amount of things you need to learn there really isn’t a place to put in the effort other than < 9’s. You out gear things too quickly to learn in lower keys and you don’t learn not to touch the stove by reading about stoves in a book.

TBF, in a +2 everything is basically the same as normal, but with higher up/dmg. You should probably know the dungeon basics before then.

Now, if you’ve got newer people in higher keys for the first few times, it’s more understandable that they’re need some explanation on things like skips or affixes.

So I’m edgy for telling you that it’s your responsibility to learn mechanics in m2+ and you need to learn what edgy means because that’s not even edgy at all.
I’m not teaching you how to do affixes in a 2+.
Use wowhead or learn mechs like everyone else

Yeah it can definitely be rough.

It always amazes me when I see people posting against raider IO. It’s just an addon that displays information - objective data.

The fact they’re so afraid of facts is boggling.

I’ve done 10’s and still get those that don’t los/run from Rezan or try to dps till the last second before running but still get chewed up and spit out.

But I’ll still settle for those that can interrupt a spell.

You don’t need Raider io for a +2.

The hell so you soak on the Snake Boss?

soak what?

you must mean the 3rd boss?

I’m sorry the 3rd boss for damage.
They keep forgetting to stand in front of the tall sticks.

Not necessarily true, would depend on key. If you are talking maybe a 5 or 6 okay, but a 10 key you would lose a lot of damage output.

Stop saying kid lol that is so 2010

It isn’t but I’ll still say it kid.

Yes it is, most people don’t even know how to use it correctly or in context.
