So I just decided to unsub, how many other have unsubbed also?

I’m here till at least May-- But I also haven’t been dependent on SL for my enjoyment.

I uninstalled the game, but my Sub won’t run out until April. I stated in another thread why this game is no longer for me. Blizzard just feels too comfortable pushing out this game when it is clearly not ready. The daily chores we have to do are uninspired, as are the rewards and class balance. There is little in the game I enjoy, and the one thing I do, raiding, is not enough to keep me interested.

I’m really not sure why people consider it unfriendly to casuals. I’m about as casual as you can get. I mean I think I’ve run one or two dungeons, have leveled 3 alts to 60 and working on a few more. And I’m having fun just running around doing whatever I feel like when I’m logged in. I don’t worry about what anyone else is doing.

I keep getting the impression that I don’t really understand what some people mean by casual.

Most people should never sub, and instead should purchase one month of game time each month to evaluate if they still find it worth paying for. Breaks are healthy anyway.

I’m with you on this. One month at a time here, after the Cata charger I swore I would never commit to more time again no matter the savings. It saves you zilch if you get bored and stop playing.

NGL I kinda chuckle at people who come here to complain that they hate it and have 4 months left.

I still have BFA to get through. I’m actually enjoying it more than SL. I’m perplexed why people thought it was so bad?

Guess I will find out as I play through it?

Resubbing month by month with my gold… but not enjoying it.

Wow is basically an IM service for me, with a badly designed minigame called Shadowlands that I can log into and look at the achievements and collectibles I earned while playing Warcraft. I play with my few remaining friends sometimes when they talk me into it, but otherwise most recently just do busywork and “content”.

And now the bad story is done for the next 1/4 year to 1/2 year so… idk.

Not leaving but definitely considering taking a break until next content patch.

To me, as a super casual player, the cost for my recurring 6 month sub is trivial and means I don’t have to even think about it. When I have the time/motivation to play I just log in and play. $12.99 per month is trivial. Heck, I spend more than that when I order from Starbucks

Even during those months where I only log in for a few hours (Classic or Retail) I’m getting my money’s worth. At least in my opinion.

From what I heard the first major content patch but I didn’t hear first hand so not 100%. Not going to hold my breath but sounded promising.

just waiting for my 6 month to end at this point.

Let me put it this way. I had I believe 2-3 days played already in this month and a half due to being off work for a month. That is a lot of time and not what I would call casual at all. That is the most I have played probably ever in one month. Most people in the outside world think that is pretty damn hardcore.

And even then I got to maybe 180GS which most people scoffed at.

Perplexed at this (I was being told I was inefficient with my time) I made a post asking everyone else what their played it was. It was WAY higher than mine. Some people were already at 10-15 days played.

I personally think the average forum poster is delusional on what their concept of casual is.

I play a game like ESO or GW2 and immediately I feel less grind. Like way less. Not saying those games are better, but those are what I would call casual MMO’s.

WoW is just not a casual MMO. It throws a bone to casual players, that’s it really. I would not call it casual friendly at all. This game caters to Mythic + and raiders, the rest get scraps.

Yes I can log into the most hardcore game on the planet and chop wood all day saying “Well I have things to do!”. But that game is not designed around me at all.

Which is fine, not saying it has to be, but this is not a casual game at all.

For me it’s not about the cost to myself, it’s about not rewarding blizzard for not doing a better job. I end up paying more by not getting the discounted Xmonths.

It’s our only real “vote” on how things go. They don’t listen to anything else.

A lot of what made it bad is gone now.
Azerite armor
Corruption
Benthic Gear
Endless chores
Neverending island grinds
Horriffic visions
5ish sources of borrowed power

All of it’s skippable now and I’m glad your enjoying it!

That is how I do it. It helps a lot.

Wish I had friends and actually wasn’t so opposed to the discord thing.
But even if they’d make the game more tolerable… this expansion seems to have either zones that stink or content that is very unrewarding for me.

Is the gearscore addon even still around? Or are you referencing something else? At any rate, IMO, if you even care about something like gear score you’re outlook isn’t casual and, with limited playtime, you may not be able to keep up.

There are all sorts of guilds out there. If you just want to have fun, socialize, run the occsional dungeon/raid with friends. You should be able to find a compatible group of people. Even if you need to move to an RP server

Nah it was gone pretty much the minute ilvl was implemented there was really no need for it. If Blizz decided to go the same route with IO it would disappear too.

I must be honest. This trickle of anima grind is starting to wear on me. It really is. I was motivated at first, but then it hit me like a wall. “Wait, what in the actual hell am I doing to myself.”

Traveling to different zones for 100 anima… then ground mounting to those quests which are becoming repetitive, and boring. :S I like certain parts of the game, but the chore factor is finally starting to hit me.

I have not un-subbed, but I have not re-subbed…
mine runs out in 2.5 months…
doubtful I’ll renew.
