So hypothetically, if any DF race factions became playable

Yeah that’s fair but I don’t see Blizzard adding two Dragonkin races so I think people are just thinking practically but have to use too many words to make their point.

I mean they could, look how many damn elves we have lol

Sure but elves are legendary across all of fantasy, they have enough fanboys and girls that it makes me like them less. And I love my main ;-;

I think wow elves are cool and interesting due to the whole mana addiction situation. Reminds me that they’re not just people with pointy ears.

Hey Im not dissing the elves, I love my night elves. But stating there is room for two types of dragon type races, especially how different the dracthyr and drakonid are

I think it’s just general audience fatigue concerns that will keep them from adding two races of Dragonkin, but who really knows!

Personally, I’m a big advocate for Arakkoa. I’m really stoked to see S2 M+ includes Vortex Pinnacle.

Unfortuantely I think Axaron is right, as much as I wish they weren’t. Elves are popular; they’re always going to be popular. Playing monster races, less so. We can see that by how much of the horde is made up of elves too, and we have to remember the faction itself is bloated beyond normal because of gameplay opportunity that haven’t been fixed yet until cross-faction guilds finally land, and even then there’s a money cost to fixing that.

A second reptilian race could be seen as redundant and not worth the dev effort. Arguably, a 5th elf variant would be redundant too, but would inevitably draw in more people. Hence why dracthyr already had to split the bill with their visage options being restricted to an elf and human look, and we already have people wishing they could play solely as their visages and ignore the actual dragon aspect altogether. :frowning:

I only say it because people went nuts over the desire for dragon boi tanks and the drakonid would fit that far better than the dracthyr

But you could be a runaway model.

Or a goldshire creep? lol I know we arent supposed to talk about goldshire

I think elves are a core part of fantasy because they hit “fairytale” notes very well in a graceful and beautiful way.

Monster races are popular too but I think they’re more popular with men on average, generally.

The alternatives being presented here actually make me kind of glad we got dracthyr instead of tuskarr, gnolls, or centaur.

I like Gnolls.
Idk who they’d join or why. To reiterate, I like Gnolls.

(they don’t got a hyena critter so… enjoy this hedgehog instead.)

I think most people like gnolls. They’re a fantasy staple at this point, and have a long history with wow and dnd.

I’m personally a big fan of Mechagnomes 2.0, I don’t care if we have to miss a raid tier.

Giving mechagnomes more options for full robot would make the race more popular imo.

If we’re bringing in non DF races we need the kobalds to counter the horde getting a second tiny race with the vulpera

Alliance really got robbed with Allied races IMO. But I like playing troll’y small characters and I looove the Nightborne lore.

I think shapes don’t have to be 1 to 1. Horde don’t really have a dwarf equivalent, for instance.
