So how stable is Shadow priest?

Okay, this is probably a fool’s errand, but I suppose asking this question on the forums won’t make me any more indecisive than not doing so.

So, shadow priest. Atm in prepatch it is both fun and powerful. I’m enjoying it.
Trying to work out my plan for which character to level to 90 for my 3rd slot. (main and primary alt are already set). My choice is more or less boiled down to priest or warrior.

I’ve had a few guildies tell me that shadow priest falls off “hard” in mop and becomes a C tier-ish DPs no one wants around. (same guy also said it did pathetic numbers in beta raid testing, which is kinda opposite to what i’m seeing of Spriest in prepatch raids).

Anyway, my question that i’m throwing out into the ether here is… what is a wiser choice between priest or warrior (e.g. more useful, more wanted in groups). In either case I would be working on both specs. Shadow primary w disc os. Tank is arms primary w prot os.

Other than bliz’s notorious cruelty to melee kinda pushing me toward priest (even tho war is really fun now too), I’m kinda 50-50 on this and not sure which is the better option.

I don’t really know anything about shadow priest, but given that Blizzard are trying to balance classes in MoP I wouldn’t go off information from original MoP. This doesn’t really answer your question I guess but with active balancing I guess it’s impossible to know for sure how the class will be.

Shadow Priest is super fun.
Arms Warrior is fun too.
Fury Warrior would be fun if there was more expertise available.
Discipline Priest is also fun with their Atonement healing, but if history has taught me anything it’s that trying to dps dungeons as a Disc priest will probably get you kicked from groups.

This.

Play what’s most fun.

Nobody can predict what Blizzard will do.

For all you know Shadow Priest might be top tier all through MoP.

Nothing is stable right now, they’re making large changes to class balance on a weekly basis.

Yeah, that’s what worries me. Bliz has a habit of going “Oh, this class is working great and people like it?! UNPOSSIBLE… nerf it into the ground.”
