As a non-PvPer, my Plunderstorm matches last exactly as long as it takes to run into the first player. Never longer. Two, three minutes if I’m lucky. So, at this rate, how long til 40 renown? Think I can make it before the limited time is up?

That depends on how much plunder you can pick up in those 2 to 3 minutes.

It entirely depends on how much plunder (renown) you pick up and not how much you engage with other players. Drop away from people, kill npcs, farm the plunder. You need I think 97500 to max out if it is 2500 every level to 40 (which it seems like it is)

Yes. I would suggest you focus on farming pve mobs and literally using all of your abilities to run away from players. The gold that mobs drop is essentially rep.
Players will not give chase to you if you make yourself annoying to kill.

If you’re only lasting three minutes but getting 250 renown each round then that’s only 20 hours or so.
If you’re only lasting three minutes and only getting 100 renown each round…well…

It seems kinda wonky.
I feel like I am not really gaining that much renown at all. I’ve played a lot of games so far, even won one, and I’m still at like level 4

Yeah, despite what they might say it really does feel like each renown level takes more renown than the previous. Ever since my first two it’s just been a slog.

It will take most people 35+ hours to get to max renown, and that’s if you do decent.
gold = renown, so depends on how much gold you get. you get a quest when you land that gives you like 250 gold. so I would do that, and then just die (you can’t leave you lose the gold you earned).
the quests are usually pretty easy, and I haven’t gotten a pvp related one yet so I’m not sure if there even is one. just kill a bunch of npcs, or pick up some items. one of the ones I got was even just to pick up gold lol.

Yep, I’m determining now how to min/max rep gain so I can grind for reward and never touch it again.
It’s well done and all, I’m just not into Fortnite. I guess this is to rope in the young people or something.

Tip: Land in the middle of nowhere, complete quest objective as quickly as possible, then feel free to die because you’ve just gotten plunder as fast as you possibly could in the first few minutes

What quest is that? Do you automatically get it or do you have to speak to someone? I’ve done about 4 matches and don’t remember seeing any quests pop up.

The event would be infinitely more enjoyable if the renown grind wasn’t so horrid, honestly. I don’t mind futzing around with the BR thing, but my main goal is the cosmetics and mounts.

It depends how much plunder you gain each match.
I think the fastest way is to probably queue up, do the WQs, and then get yourself killed. Repeat until renown 40.
This’ll give you about 250 plunder each match.

Just run away from any player only kill PvE mobs and collect gold that is the fastest way to do this event. There is no reason to even fight PvP players.
