Most of SoD is the same players on 2-5 toons.
It’s numbers are exaggerated since raiding is the only thing to do on the free level 60s.
The gdkp discords 100% do.
Same community, they may put in different toons every few weeks but it’s largely the same community.
None of you are invited to it tho.

Both should be banned, but yes absolutely getting the best sword in the game by RMT and buying gold absolutely has a much worse effect on the game for every player compared to someone buying some blues off the AH.
But again, both should be banned 100%.
The problem is GDKP’s are the only system that allows people to RMT buy gold and then buy a Gressil.
Which is why they were banned, because they really are an extreme negative in a world where the playerbase has normalized buying gold and RMT and cheating in general.
You can only get so far with pre-bis BoEs vs actual bis raid pieces. The wallet doesn’t come into play in the raid scene.
How is it worst for you though? Are you unable to buy something now?
The kind of atmosphere I seek is rare, I desire players who can meta play but also aren’t allergic to off meta strategy and testing new methods.
Any time I have promoted ideas to seasonal players its unanimously rejected because its not meta. I attempt to explain things and still rejected because its to complicated or that they dont see how it can work when I know it does. I try to expand their capabilities and yet they rebuke because its not the widely accepted meta.
I will not play with people who just want to follow a script and pretend to be a speed clear team when they’re not even in the top 1000 while at the same time refusing to work with the comp they presently have and expand capabilities that exist.
The seasonal players are dogmatic trend followers who dont understand why they do what they do, 95% of the players who “parse” think they know how it works, but they really dont. They only know DPS go BRRRRRRRRRRRR, failing to understand their output is directly tied to everything in raid that isn’t them specifically.
Ill happily raid with “dad guilds” who admit to being so and are not pretending to be anything but that. Ill happily wipe on content I could be framing easily IF the raid atmosphere is good.
What I will not do is suffer with self annointed jerks who bogart all the loot for dogmatic reasons while they are garbage tier while talking down to their team and bragging about their trash parse vs others while they used trash stats, missed consumes use, and had the pumper group and failed to keep 98%+ time on target.

Like if that 3 million gold or w/e was used on Black Lotus, wouldn’t that have more of an affect on more players?

RMT doesn’t affect the highest level of play thats the core of the issue.
Who cares if someone blows a thousand gold on random BoEs that were found off trash mobs. They can’t buy the gear that drops off Ragnaros and that’s the gear that’s relevant.

China RMT teams sell loot / achievements in retail., ALL of them.
They 100% will also in Fresh if players are willing to pay, and there is always a coiner willing to pay.
This is so from what I am told in SoD (i can’t confirm because I am not playing Sod) so no way for me ti investigate. This is often sold as what is called a ticket raid, AKA real money raid. They pay in gold for a raid slot and are given loot somehow without getting banned.
I suppose its not illegal because its not GDKP, ,but really should have been banned but is still a thing. It will be so on Fresh if the community allows it, and they likely will because its the actual RMT raid.
Imagine a track athlete loses to another track athlete in a fair race, that’s OK.
Now imagine a track athlete loses to another track athlete in a race who just pumped themselves full of steroids and cheated to win and get the WR, they do not deserve the win that they just stole from the athlete who came in 2nd to a cheater.
