So how DO you pronounce Ythisens?

Is it “Yith-i-sens”, “Yith-uh-senz” or is the Y pronounced like an i like in the word “Yggdrasil”…or is the Y completely silent? I mean I can’t really blame Josh Allen for messing it up…

Better yet, what the heck does the name mean in the first place?

Pretty sure it’s Yith-uh-senz.

But what if it’s not?

I pronounce it as Yith-soiyuiguftyghjd

Then I guess it’s three licks to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop.

I know the rules about requesting a blue to come in, but I really feel that in this thread its quite appropriate! :grinning:

I go with Yth isens. It’s kinda Welsh.

I don’t…

Never said it out loud. I’d probably pronounce it Etha-sins, with the Etha with a hard E, like in Ethan.

i say yith-is-en

Isn’t the Y silent?

E (hard e) this (like thistle) ens ( like enz)

But it might be more phonetic, and we’re putting too much thought into it. It might actually be a phrase turned into a name, like “why this ends”, or something like that.

Before seeing the answer, I’m gonna say the Y is silent and it’s pronounced “Thessen”

Blue bait. Sadly it’ll get a response instead of real issues.

After what i learned today? Mud.

Ok this is how I say it.

First I remove the y

Now I have This

Then I rearrange the last letters and put the Y back in for yes but I now remove the N

Last thing is add the question mark that you put in on your question and put it all together.

This-yes?

I know how it’s supposed to sound but my mind just instinctively pronounces every CM’s name the same exact way: ‘en-uh-me’

It’s just reflex at this point.

I’ve always read it in my head as 'EETH-ih-sens", or close enough to that at least, but I could be incorrect.

Wait…

What?
