The only way I would ever get it, is if it was a store mount.
Even if they returned it at the 5 million gold, I would never own it. 1) I never had that much gold and 2)I don’t spend over 100k for a mount (okay my tmog yak might have been like 110k, but I use it SO MUCH it was worth it)
That would probably be too far. Unlike the Feldrake, it was available for in-game currency at a rate that would currently be equivalent to $450 in Blizzard Bucks.
As someone who has it, I fully support returning it to the vendor for what it originally cost. I don’t think they even need to do the double price scheme. I paid 5 million for it, and so should everyone else.
Note: This logic only applies to what things actually cost. “I paid a ridiculous amount of real dollars for something with artificial scarcity” is a you problem. A Feldrake card cost Blizzard 10 cents to print and came in a $4 pack of cards.
They should really bring it back as a store mount, or just put it back on the vendor for 5 million, it would be hilarious to see the reaction of all those people(and there were a LOT of them) who spent their $1200.00 covid stimulus cheques on blizzard tokens to buy it.
They probably won’t bring back the original brutosaur on the Trading Post or through other means, but I hope I am wrong.
I would at least like a different color variant of the brutosaur mount purchasable through the Trading Post. I don’t see any reason not to do that. If Blizzard doesn’t want to add the AH vendor on the different version then so be it. I just want a long boi.
(Or add a brutosaur mount to a timewalking vendor whenever they decide to add BFA timewalking dungeons)
Maybe you should try a quick google search of say “Buy brutosaur mount with stimulus cheque” because it definitely happened, there were threads on this very GD bragging about it.
I’m a staunch believer if something was taken out of the game it should stay out CM transmogs, mounts etc. I do wish I had the bronto, but not enough to undercut the work others put into it. the post was more of a joke it would be a slap in the face if it was 5mil in game and sold on the store for 30 lol.
I did a quick google search. I went through four pages of results and only one, a link to a dead forum thread, seems to discuss the possibility of doing so, but it’s 404’ed so there’s no telling what was actually discussed, or what proof there was of anyone doing anything.
It was put in as a gold sink. The last thing the game needs right now is a gold sink, people are going to spend more on enchants over the course of this expac than the Brutosaur was sold for.
I guess to me i don’t see bronto being taken out of the game as bad, it makes people work for something, they accomplish that thing and it becomes an even cooler thing because other people dont have it after its gone. like card collections when cards go out of print.
i guess i just don’t see it as fomo from that perspective.
There’s exactly one person in that thread who brings up COVID checks once, and one who brings up “stimulus” once and both seem to be implying the mount was priced to take advantage of the checks.
