So have we lost Blizzard?

What do you think is a more realistic scenario:

  1. Someone sat down the development team and told them to nerf loot so people buy more tokens to purchase carries.
  2. Someone sat down the development team and told them to nerf loot so it takes longer for people to finish their characters and they stay subscribed for longer.

How the last few expansions have been designed clearly points to #2.

works for yall. so 2 can play that game.

although, if you actually read what i posted, thats not what i was saying.

I actually don’t think the token sales from PvP boosts were intended, but they’re going to milk it while they can.

Like, it was pretty clearly intended for 1400 to be the “entry” point because 1500 is the starting MMR the game gives you. Some of the devs - you can literally check their armories - do not PvP, and thus don’t understand that there’s a huge gap in player skill even at the entry level.
Back when they first introduced the arena system, you’d see even gladiators clicking spells on the bar from time to time. Now, if you’re not keybinding fully at 1500, you’re likely going to lose heavily and tank well below the “starting point”.
There is no true entry level for PvP anymore. And people are taking advantage of it.

But now that it’s happening, it’s doubtful they’re going to do anything to stop it because of how much money it’s generating. (…and how difficult it would be the stop it without implementing some massive inflation levels, which would cause all the gladiator level players to get mad because 2400 is suddenly easier to get.)

I have friends selling 1400 for 1.2 million - and people are buying.
That ain’t chump change.

While there is some things I do not enjoy about this expansion. There is some things I do enjoy.
(This shouldn’t come as offensive either. It’s pretty much impossible to appeal on every single front on any type of entertainment.)

I liked Warfronts… just because the big consensus (majority of the playerbase) was they were too easy, so everyone categorized it as garbage. Isn’t the same thing as the concept was bad. I love big events everyone participates in. Ashran, Warfronts (participated in a majority of them throughout BFA) etc. Even in TBC when I joined near the end of it, I spent A LOT of time in AV. Just because they dulled down the toughness (Warfronts) doesn’t mean it was the worst idea and I would really enjoy more big events with many participants in the future. Enough of this five man pandering in almost every aspect of the game. This is a MMO.

Why does it have to be one or the other if they both serve a purpose beneficial to blizzard? Plus saying something has always been caused one way in the past doesn’t rule out it being caused by a new way. If you think it points to 2 then that’s great. I should imagine it was 2 until some bright spark saw a new potential by reducing loot even further probably after the bump in token sales due to corruption gear purchases in 8.3 made them cotton on to how much potential token sales really had.

I don’t know. Maybe I’m coming at it with. A different perspective than I had in the past. But I’m having lots of fun in shadowlands. I can’t commit to a raid schedule so it’s LFR for me, maybe normal. And that’s fine. I still get to do the content, and I’ve got Ingriam here started on my second covenant unlocking. And maybe I can get her into an LFR in a week or two as well…

Good times.

Shadowlands is alright its a 5 out of 10 it would be higher but… The loot, the Powers tied to Covenant and not just mogs, and torghast… Just turn this game from a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 to a 5…

When you bring torghast and or maw in my guild… You get meh I might do it Monday before reset… Hardly anyone in my guild likes to go there… I imagine this is not just my guild thing…

When they make systems into chores or perceived chores it sucks

Not trying to start a fight, but if you honestly believe that Shadowlands is only a 5 out of 10, why continue to play? If I was getting that little enjoyment out of my hobby I would move on…

I like to raid with my guild

Lets wait Blizzcon and hear what they have to say.

If they just ignore all our pleas for change and shove thru our throats more systems, more senseless random “balancing”, and pretend that all is “working as intended” and fine, then Yes, we lost Blizz.

But if they actutally are here, although silently, watching our feedback and criticism and DO something relevant to fix the flaws, then maybe he can have hope for a better expansion and future for the game.

Don’t worry riot is working on a mmo atm. Will it beat wow? Who knows, but if any company can I feel like it might be riot.

You talking 3 to 5 years tho… If it does not get scraped

No, I’m more into trains.

Choo. Choo. To the next expansion!

Systemlands will be judged on the first patch and maybe the second patch.

Shadowlands is better than BFA. I have to admit I still like Legion much better. When I play a character through Legion, the story is much more engaging and fun. I still like the Class halls more than the Covenant Halls. But the Covenant Halls are better than the boat in BFA. I do like having more followers, though these followers don’t have near the quality story as the Legion followers.

Shadowlands is somewhere between Legion and BFA.
