Pretty sure the whole murdering thing probably went to offset the bills. Defias had legit claims when Onyxia screwed things up, but Van Cleef and his daughter also took it to extremes.

I dunno, it took them 10 years to rebuild Stormwind, thatâs a whole lot of unpaid wages, and itâs all hard labor wages. Stonework isnât easy on the body at all.
People flip out when a job tries to rip them off of ONE paycheck, can you imagine what they would do after 10 YEARS of unpaid paychecks???
Tiffinâs death was accidental, it wasnât planned. Iâm not saying itâs right but she should have known better then to try and face off against an angry mob tearing down the city.
