I mean is Anduin gonna be a s*** king as well like his father then? He seems a bit more… understanding.
Also Anduin didn’t have his wife killed by a rock, so there’s that. Not sure what his grudge against them is then when he looks at Sylvannas and is all understanding like “iT’s tHe cHoIcE YoU NeVeR HaD…”
So what’s his excuse?

Sure, we will just deduct the expense for all the damage they have caused over the years from the balance. And the only reason he is “understanding” with Sylvanans is because he has now experienced what she felt when she was nothing more then a puppet to the will of another.
Remember that we invaded The Undercity with the intent of killing her and that his idea.

I think they got themselves jobs as accounts receivable in the “Uncrowned” aka duped by Onyxia, a local tavern down the road near Sentinel Hill

I think the better question is what’s going on with the House of Nobles that Onyxia coerced all those years ago? Wasted story potential, that.

Yeah there’s a lot of details we didn’t get. If I recall, the nobles kept the non-payment of the stonemasons secret from Varian until Onyxia managed to arrange for Varian’s capture, but there was never any followup on any of that.
At any rate, I’m not sure there’s actually much of the original Defias left to pay since they got taken out by mercenaries (us) as a result of being egged on by Onyxia to take getting revenge too far and involve a lot of innocent people. Really any remnants of the Defias should have more of a grudge against the black dragonflight than against Stormwind.

Pretty sure they’re all dead or in jail. I do recall paying a significant number of them in steel in my early adventuring days.

I wish there was more “closing the door” content so we’re not in like 50 cliff hangers, 1 per zone, etc.

That is not at all what happened. Varian actually tried to negociate but because Onyxia had sabotaged things the nobles didnt want to pay(because Onyxia sabotaged the work so they considered it inferior) and she flamed the greed of the mason so that they would demand exorbitant amounts.
That most of the original stonemasons are dead/committed horrible crimes on innocent people that were not royal/noble.

The Defias were offered compensation. They turned it down and wanted compensation plus interest.
They were never the noble good guys. They were being played by Onyxia in order to destabilize Stormwind, just as the house of Stormwind nobles was being played.
Vanessa’s arc wasn’t about payment for the Defias, it was about getting vengeance for her father.

Wait we were supposed to be paying them? I’d say tell Anduin but he’s off moping in a corner and I doubt Turalyan cares.

The Defias are nothing but unprincipled troublemakers seizing on a flimsy excuse to indulge in wanton destruction. They must be destroyed for the safety of all people of Stormwind (but mainly the poor homeless Westfallians).
He just had his mother killed by a rock? That seems, if anything, even worse.

I mean his mom was killed by a rock. Coincidence? No. They’re the same person. Open and shut case.
(Blizzard is never going to make the Defias Brotherhood relevant again outside of nostalgia blips in side quests
