So happy Twisting Corridors is still broken

I had to go guardian on the broker floor before the floor 18 boss. I just couldn’t take the hits anymore.

And Lycara’s bargain I think it is? The one that snares you when you do damage? DEATH TRAP.

All the 50% increased damage in the world isn’t gonna save you when you gotta shapeshift out to break the snare. Almost killed me twice.

Its about the only thing in SL that is Fun…

i know im a little late but gear doesn’t actually help in this matter, at most gearing up will give you around 8-10k extra hp but that means nothing when the floor 18 boss is hitting 80k auto attacks through defensives. i’ve failed 3 layer 8-18th floor bosses due to the impossibility of of their HP and dmg. The boss has 10 mil HP and deals 80k auto attacks and at MOST i’ve only ever had 200k HP. This is a tuning issue, the danger should come from mechanics that can be followed. If it helps visualize the problem imagine if shriekwing from CN had 1 shot auto attacks. It wouldn’t matter if everyone followed mechanics and avoided all extra dmg because the tank would be getting one shot. Thats an impossible situation to beat and thats something many people are facing in TC right now

This is not helpful advice,

I did all 18 floors of level 8 and got a grand total of 2 HP upgrades. You don’t actually get to choose your build for the most part. I’ts RNG handed to you

It’s not the possibility of failure that’s the problem. It’s wasting 2+ hours of time and rng with powers. It’s just not great game design.

how much HP did your final 18th floor boss have? how much dmg did his auto attacks do? as a shammy my 12th layer boss had 2.5mil HP the 18th had 10mil and hit for 80k non crit auto attacks with multiple defensives up. No amount of skill can counter thingsthat have no counter. massive dmg spike’s in an rpg are ALWAYS done in a way that can be mitigated or avoided in some way. Auto attacks cannot be avoided unless kited. how many melee specs can kite while doing enough dmg to whittle down that massive HP pool before the stacks make him to fast to kite? The thing you misunderstand is that YOUR experience in TC is VASTLY different to whats being explained. This seems to be an issue that some classes don’t appear to be having, DK, druids etc. Your experience seems to have been a liner, smooth climb in difficulty while others are having massive spike’s in power before the anima powers can prepare them for it. It’s clearly a bug. Due to the nature of combat in this game to make these bosses killable a player MUST be able to survive basic auto attacks while being smart with the mechanics of the boss. Getting one shot at 2 stacks of the bosses unnatural power buff is clearly not an intended feature. Did you experience this? or would it be easier for you to continue pretending every run is the same as yours?

I’m done with Torghast. It’s not fun. Clearing it or not. Clearing it is boring. Not clearing it makes me question playing the game anymore. Playing layer 1 of twisting corridors and getting killed by elites at level 17 that have half a million hp and have a stacked buff that kills me before I can finish them off is terrible game design. Wasting several hours of my time really pisses me off.

Had nothing but a good time with all 8 layers of TC, think my layer 8 floor 18 boss had something like 12mill health. As long as you arnt a complete ape and pick bad powers, you should be fine.

While I agree the quest maybe shouldnt have been tied to TC, Corridors in general are pretty fun and fair, and the people having issues are choosing bad powers and/or need to get good.

So, I finally tried out Twisting Corridors layer 1. Given that I am able to easily beat layer 8 of the other wings, I figured layer 1 of TC would be a breeze.

It absolutely was NOT. The first 12ish layers were easy enough, but as soon as I hit layer 13 the difficulty spiked HARD. After an unexpected death where my pet was destroyed in moments by 3 non-elites who then kicked MY butt, I started moving MUCH more cautiously.

Of course, my normal “trap one and take out the others” strategy became much more difficult to pull off since I had selected a power that did AoE frost damage when I attack, because I would fire off one shot to pull the rest of the group, and it would just AoE without my control and break my trap. I wound up having to body-pull things away from traps.

Also, I nearly died 3 times to a Lord of Locks and his 3 cronies because of that whole trap-breaking fiasco and thanks to his chains ability doing 15-16k damage PER SECOND. Now, I had picked up what health boosters I could up to that point, but even with +90% health he would have killed me if I didn’t feign death out of it.

Oh, and did I mention I had the mist ability that makes you “untargetable” beyond a certain range, but he was STILL able to target the ability on me, yank me next to him, and nearly kill me each time?

Oh, and even with Mend Pet and a couple stacks of the leech power, my pet was basically dead once the 90% reduced damage power from Misdirect wore off, so as a BM hunter I basically had to kite-kill things, including the final boss. (Who I was lucky enough to start the fight off with the 1.5 minutes of immunity to damage on. Oh, btw, that immunity to damage doesn’t apply to my pet.)

All-in-all I spent a good 4-5 hours to complete that one layer. As much as I enjoy (most of) the other layers of Torghast, Twisting Corridors was NOT fun and ABSOLUTELY not worth the time investment.

I don’t know… did layer 1 on my pally and skipped the first 4 floors cause i didn’t know it had 18. Got screwed at the end boss because i lacked the power of the first 4 floors. Had to redo and actually get a decent build to kill last boss but second time was a breeze and so was layer 2. This is supposed to be a challenge and i think its scaled perfectly.

Yes I never take those get 25% if this but lose 25% of that powers. I know its a gdamn trap.

  1. Disengage breaks those chains.
  2. if you’re invincible, turn off your pets taunt and use play dead so it’s beating on you.

Some of them are good. I don’t do shadow damage so who cares if my nonexistent shadow damage is reduced.

Right. But it’s becoming tiresome that their number one goal is to make everything take longer. Fun is not the priority. How much time can it take is the priority. OAX, or Oribos International Airport is a prime example. Can’t just let me fly from one zone directly to another…

Torgasst is not fun. It’s not interesting. It’s just copy-paste boredom you’ve been sold as “content”

Get good or get better gear if you’re severely under geared? Buy the Torghast upgrades from Ve’nari. Seriously…if you struggled that much with TC level one, I don’t know what else to tell you. If you’re not a god-killing abomination by floor 10 or so, you’re doing something horribly wrong.

Unsubscribed. Will come back in patch 9.3 when all this crap is probably fixed.

Got to layer 3 twice, floor 18 and floor 16. I couldn’t kill Maw of the Maw on my first run, even with 1.5 minute invulnerability, 75,000HP, and a very good set-up I still died because I don’t have enough interrupts as a hunter to stop him.

Second time on floor 16 I just quit because I knew at 28,000HP I’m not going to make it. The run gave me ZERO HP Buffs but had no issue spamming me with the worst abilities for my class.

Torghast is garbage for many specs, getting ‘gud’ or better gear doesn’t matter. I also appreciate the GCD getting in the way of the 14 skills I have to constantly activate to play this spec. (Intimidate for Soul Steel Pinion, Tar Trap for Dmg%+ and Dmg- to enemy,Ember Trap, Hunter Mark, Fae puddle, Misdirect, Disengage, Bloodlust, Bestial Wrath, Aspect of the Wild) This isn’t fun.

Sorry, but feeling really strong going into floor 18 on layer 1, and then getting 2 shot by the last boss is not as intended. It’s broken, and a waste of my time.

Boring boring boring than disappointing at the end. Even after completing the first layer I did not feel excited. Seemed random and boring.
Wish they spent the resources and time on balancing classes and getting rid of the bugs.
Instead of Boreghast.

Dude, I’m telling you what MY problem is. Not what your having an issue with. If I came back next expansion in 10.0 raid gear it would still take me forever because my problem is literally having to walk through 18 floors. 6 is already too many

You’re aware that they have different teams working on different aspects of the game right?
