Making the experience more luck based than skill based is no fun
I did layer 7 today FINALLY - gawd. When the powers actually sync with you it is so much more pain free. But I tried layer 8 - the powers I got were pretty good for dps but nothing to help my health - I think I got two powers all the way through for that. It meant at level floor 17 (layer 8) I had less health than some of the maw rats - I just canāt believe how dependent I am on actually getting a few key powers in order to be successful. And I feel the pain, if I had a nickle for everytime I was offered power ups for my 20th moontick (ie balance or I guess if Iām running lunar inspiration, but what feral does that anymore?). Itās pretty smooth when you get what you need but if you donāt. I am not committing to it anymore unless one of my first powers is spicy rats.
You canāt even do this anymore. Anima power and bosses are locked when you enter a wing entrance, and are only reset after the Tues reset. So you could fail a TC run, then try again the next day and get the exact same combination of anima powers to choose from and the same boss.
Itās dumb AF
195 hunter, was clearing floors 1-12 on layer 8 with reasonable difficulty, hit 13 and trash mobs started 1 hitting my pet.its like their damage was increased by 200% and they also had the life of a raid boss.Normal elites had over 2 million life.i made it to 14 and the end boss would 1 hit my pet then kill me a second layer. Its not a skill issue or a gear issue its a scaling issue.you go from elites having 200k life on floor 12 and 2 million life with 4x damage on the next floor. No amount of skill could have beat this boss.Ive never seen broken content like this, its garbage not skill based at all.I spent 4 hours on level carefully navigating and pulling up to level 14 just to hit a road block. If your gonna make it randomly impossible the let us use mounts in the maw or fix the scaling issue.this is trash and designed to waste your time.
So whats the eta on the final bosses actually being brought in line with the rest of the dungeons difficulty?
Iām guessing it will be a while. There are so many variables at play given the players ilvl, prep, and RNG fortune in anima buffs that tuning is ⦠difficult to say the least.
Being able to group simply magnifies the problem
The lord of RNG is dark and full of terrors.
See, I have been trying to get info like this, while reading through all the information. As an ilvl 194 Veng DH, in Layer 7, the mobs tuning seemed to go from linear progression (1-12,) as the Boss (Skold) at 6, have 648k, Maw of Maw at 12, had 1.4 mil⦠then I had Skold again, at 18, at 6.8 mil.
I am thinking that the progression goes from Linear to Multiplicative, as the burst goes insane in just one floor, and then each floor after 13, gets more than linearly harder. Thank you for your post!
But what if we failed multiple runs, but did it til we got good powers?
Just finished up layer 8 today. Some things I have noticed/ advice:
-
There is a certain level of RNG around both powers and layer 18 bosses. It took me two goes of layer 8 at 2 hours a go because the boss on the first try was a caster that one shot and as druid my kick is irrelevant.

You need to work on getting a good core build built around certain powers, this can be a bit RNG but you want to boost your core kit well and mainly stack a boat load of HP it really helps. I had something like 450k HP on the final boss for instance.
-
Floors 1-6 kill everything and open all posts for phantasma for the brokers, hope to RNGsus you get the detect anima ability, this means from 6-12 you can skip enemy packs that have no powers. 12-18 only get powers if its not risky, you should have a decent build by then.

Floors 13-18 have wack scaling they ramp up real quick, so you need to play conservative and only kill what you have too.
Other than that just prey the boss you can see at floor 15 isnt a rough one.
I soloed layer one last night as an untouchable god on my dk as blood. I went in tonight as uh with my wife playing blood.
We crushed everything until floor 16 before hitting a wall of difficulty that ended our run on floor 18 with the final boss charging me on pull for a one shot of 86k damage. Right out of the gate, no chance for dodging, or mitigation. Just zip, dead.
My max hp as uh was 56k for that run. My wife was over 150k as blood. She still couldnāt kill the boss fast enough before being overwhelmed by its stacking empowered buff.
I am not asking for nerfs. I like a challenge, but I also get the frustration.
No your simply asking for basic balancing. You know REASONABLE GAME ADJUSTING.
Whether it is possible to accomplish it is totally irrelevant to the game experience.
Sounds like high pain tolerance or bright as a 4 watt bulb.
56k hp at the final is boss is waaaay too little. You need to choose more HP anima powers aswell as the killing Maw Rats gives % hp
I did twisting corridor with my balance druid yesterday. layer 1 level 16 boss died in 6 seconds with couple of damage increase buff and all my bursts + convoke burst.
I got invulnerability anima power just before 18th floor. I used it on boss. I killed boss just 2 seconds after my bubble expired.Boss just got 1 hit on me after my bubble expired.
So again about anima rng: is that fair?
Maybe i would not kill boss if i did not have that bubble.
In doing that Anduin opening clues quest I had my Ash moment after defeating the first boss.
Nobody said anything about more clues! Lol
Honestly having 50 soul Ash for that quest is stupid to me. Look what you go through. Bad reward. It should be like 200. Thatās alot of time and itās the Twisting Corridors.

Everyone crying about āunfair RNGā does not understand what RNG means.
My favorite is how mortāregar portals break my warlockās most important power.
