So glad they are getting rid of WAs

and now Im glad for this…

back to ignore…

Man you’re an odd one.

Everything you post about comes from things you’ve read on the forums but never experienced like your misinformation about Weak Auras.

There are many that play Classic for a reason.

I generally agree but also don’t. My organized heroic group doesn’t use weakauras but the shot callers rely on dbm to help reduce their cognitive load

Ive led pug groups (and lfr dim lol) with only pings, macros, and raid warnings. No one else needs dbm but I still rely on it to help

Blizzard is introducing an in-game bossmod.

It’s completely valid to be concerned about the quality of their replacements, but I have come to believe that anyone capable of raiding or pushing keys will still be capable of raiding and pushing keys.

I know I can’t say this without throwing people under the bus so I’m sorry. Some of my friends are barely capable of raiding and pushing keys

I’ll be fine personally but i know people who are barely getting by and I get to make the decision to carry them harder or let them down. I love being in this position /s edit: I’m open to being wrong here maybe the dude I’m thinking of will thrive with a simpler game and one button rotation

I know I’ll play worse and that is really annoying to me also. Before I used WA I used to send interrupts into things that could only be stunned and lost a lot of my utility every key.

It’s so refreshing to see Blizzard taking a stand and removing all those unnecessary weak auras and addons. I mean, who needs tools that help people play the game the way they want? Why should anyone be able to customize their experience, especially if it means making things easier for people with different abilities or skill levels? Let’s make sure everyone plays the game exactly the way I want them to—no shortcuts, no personal preferences, just my way. Who cares if people aren’t having fun, as long as they’re playing like I want them to, right? The game has been way too complicated for too long, and it’s about time Blizzard cleared all that up, making sure we all suffer through the same exact experience. :upside_down_face:

The one constant in WoW for the past umpty-ump years is toxicity of players and every new trending discussion topic just brings them out in droves.

I support the author. WeakAuras and addons are something we should have gotten rid of many years ago.

Anyone cheering me, a WoW nobody, no longer being able to create a Weakaura that shows a single text timer to track a DoT instead of having to use this new giant “Cooldown Progress Manager” button or progress bar clutter is just being a donkey for its own sake.

specifically WA are going because they can trivialize combat/mechanics.
Not so great that in removing WA that those who were using it for other things are losing it.

going to be a bumpy ride if blizzard doesnt have something in place sooner than later given the WA I guess wont be usable at all soon

Wow not cool at all dude!!! Simmer down

So glad never used any crutches, skills baby skills

They are a necessity for people like myself who are disabled and need accessibility options. Also WA is heavily used outside of combat for many helpful things.

No one who says “weakauras play the game for you” unironically is worth listening to.

Stupidity always comes out in these threads.

Like the stupidity of claiming that add-ons play the game for others or the stupidity that add-ons don’t provide ‘solutions’ for mechanics or the stupidity that Blizzard is going to add every customization option into the base game.

Personally, I have no issues with protecting certain combat related data from add-ons or blocking add-ons from automating gameplay.

But I think they are going too far with blocking basic information from add-ons that are designed to simply allow players to customize how to display available data.

I also do not believe they will deliver a complete and high quality set of options, certainly not at launch.

Not sure I want to bother with Midnight at this point - dealing with the level / gear reset plus the typical Blizzard over-gating at the start AND what will most likely be a clunky and less-user friendly UI than I have now isn’t appealing.

only things i use is dbm, details, and weak auras.

the latter is for tracking things like oracle charges or answered prayers in nice little windows i can move around, resize, have audio queues, etc. base blizzard ui is terrible and hides all these in a mess of buffs: oracle for instance, only way to know the charges outside of WAs is to mouse over the icon on the bar. awful. ya i know they are changing oracle but there will be things that people will want to track/place however they want even still.

will i adapt, totally, but will blizzard make their ui as good and as editable as the current addons? after seeing their cd manager addition and how crappy it is, that is probably a huge no.

Players that use addons would never survive Elden Ring

addons have been a core part of the game since beta… the anti addon idiocy is part of why the sub numbers keep dropping that and the dumbing down of the game… you can literally mark sub drops with the idiocy the devs have pulled in the game.

Preach it! I don’t even like watching retail WoW streams because the UIs are so horrible with all the info on the screen.
