lol…its doing something HUGE for them or they wouldnt use it at all lol
“It doesnt play the game for you” is semantics crap…they know what is meant by that statement…NO ONE is accusing them of BOTTING lmao…but they ARE getting HUGE benefit from using the addons.
If its like GTFO, as someone indicated, yeah, its “playing the game for me” in that its making it so Im literally not having to pay attention to some things and think about it myself because GTFO is doing that for me. lol.
I dont think Ion is lying about it, personally.

It is doing something huge for me. It allows me to track buff and debuff information in a much clearer and simpler way than the default UI provides.
This is the issue. If Blizzard’s base UI has ever been anywhere near as good as what WA creators have come up with, it wouldn’t have existed in the first place.
Glad to see that they are moving in a direction where the game is going to provide those tools with no outside help.

agree.
I have a couple addons myself that I wish they would emulate inside the game…Farmhud being a big one.
Addons aren’t required to play the game. I don’t use cheats or rotation helpers or anything outside of a fully comprehensive buff/debuff tracker thru WA.
You also need to apply nuance, though. KSM is different from KSL, not to mention that for tanks or healers, it does wonders to have a bit more information available than just an action bar.
What a bad faith statement.
So are we to assume now that anyone with a rating below what would be considered acceptable has a disability and therefore deserves a place in a group they clearly aren’t going to be ready for, as indicated by their rating?
You guys on the forums are an absolute riot

One of my closest friends and guildmates is quite literally one handed, and the guy is timing 12s and higher.
It’s absolutely a case by case basis with different disabilities on how much it impacts your ability to play the game, but my friend doesn’t even tell people about his, because he doesn’t want any special treatment or sympathy, he just wants to rip numbers and play the game with all the rest of us.

Prove it. Let’s see a single one of those achievements.

Your friend is awesome. The guy I was responding to is trying to conflate bad at the game and socially awkward with a disability preventing IO score.
It’s a joke. All of these guys chest thumping that addons are being broken aren’t affected by addons because they spend their time farming trivial content like a full time job then looking around with envy at people who just play the game and get rewards.
Plot twist-these same players are going to keep avoiding groups and farming old content and still being mad that they don’t get mythic raid gear for shooting themselves out of cannons or eating flowers while riding Rams.
That’s a problem that’s existed since the beginning of WoW.
At this point, from what I’ve seen of Blizzard’s UI updates, I don’t even care, take the WeakAuras. Many of us will be fine with their new buff trackers and nameplates, it’s actually pretty decent looking.
I just hope all of the “WeakAuras are the reason you’re good at WoW” people understand that they won’t magically be invited to a RWF team because addons got nuked.
likely will be even worse now that the helps are gone, at least until the mechanics are dumbed down enough to not need them at all.
Yeah…but no. All raiding guilds forces their members to use it or they are out.
Unless you are talking about a mythic raiding progression guild, that is simply not true. You can PUG AOTC if you’re geared and competent.
I speak from experience. I’m in a guild where the only expectation for heroic prog has been to enchant your gear and at this point in the season, be at 700 ILVL.
No WeakAuras, BigWigs, or DBM required. Just minimal effort into your toon.

He was referring to you, specifically.
The word “all” makes this statement wrong.
Very few raiding guilds forces their members to use it.
Blizz is adding their own Boss alerts so that’s not going away.
…and it’s been pointed in in multiple threads no one without a disability is saying they can’t do the content without addons. That’s just you projecting your own weird bitterness. There will still be “Git Gud” posts after this from the same players who’ve always posted that way.
We’re complaining about our UI’s being torched. For example I made a WA to track my short Buffs and Debuffs that I anchored to the Personal Bar. It’s unlikely Blizz will give me that level of customization.

If you think people actually care about the gear someone else has, you are sadly mistaken.
Those tier sets, to me, look like crap. There is one good looking tier set out of them all and i happen to have it on my rogue.
You talk about trivial content like its some unworthy thing for people to do. Are people not supposed to want that astral dragon mount in moshugan vaults? Or the heroic 25 man dragon from ICC. Or Mimrons head from Ulduar?
Are hunters not supposed to want to collect their favorite pets? Or rogues their favorite transmog daggers from BWL?
My point is, there are plenty of other things to do besides sitting on a gear skinner box treadmil that never ends. To me, anyone on the gear treadmil is imho sad and i feel sorry for them. I was on the skinner box for 4 expansions plus vanilla. It was only when i got off did i really realize how stupid it was to chase the Phat Loots.
No one cares what gear anyone else has. No one notices the magical tier sets. People dont memorize what the tier sets look like, and people dont know who has what, as most people change their outfits so its hard to tell what is current and what isnt anyway.
No. I’m saying that you don’t do endgame so you having an opinion on endgame is stupid.

And you are entitled to that opinion. However blizzard isnt changing just the end game with these changes. They are changing how one views achievements, how one levels, how one views their UI, how someone tracks rare monsters like the Time lost Proto, how someone tracks their progression on bones for the white raptor, how someone views their bag space latency and gold with a bars UI Addon, how someone tracks their pvp stuff etc. Neither dumbing the game down nor the addon changes only affects endgame. As such those who it does affect ((everyone)) are allowed to speak their own opinions on this matter, even if they do trivial stuff that isnt the gear skinner box.
Tl;dr
This guy is happy that people who do things other than trivial content are upset because….no real reason.
Uh no? Im happy people are voicing their concerns
