What are you talking about? It was a bug fix that made them cast like 1000 Lava Bursts just by hitting Ascendance. Elemental is still absolutely insane right now.

I am talking about this. I was against rework before it happened because I knew that this new Ascendance will eventually get nerfed and Ele will end up being worse that it was in 11.0.5. Literally it will be the same but without Skybreaker’s and forced into Stormkeeper.
11.0.5 is a downgrade at the end. It was one shotting for a week which I agree was stupid and now it’s worse than it was.
If I could I’d want 11.0.5 to never happen.

This right here…absolutely necessary in all aspects of the game. Spamming 1mil Earth Shocks with a 500k Overload after getting insane Haste buffs for having 100 Maelstrom before popping Ascendance was ridiculous. I was seeing Eles literally spamming 4-5 earthshocks within a GCD due to ridiculous haste. This was completely warranted.
Again this is due to Earthshock+Overload spam damage and needed addressing.
This will slightly reduce the GCD on how many earthshocks can get cast.
No one was taking this, but maybe it might be viable now.
Overall yea Ele damage is getting nerfed but I don’t think it’s going to be F-Tier or even B Tier for that matter, Ele will still be A Tier instead of S++++ Tier. All of these nerfs are centered around the broken Ascendance damage coming out.
Again reducing the amount of Earthshock damage on the Overload in PvP. Absolutely warranted.

It’s not going to change. And it dealt the same damage pre-rework. It’s not what is killing on Ele at the moment. It’s Ascendance and the amount of Mastery procs you get. With new Ascendance if you press Overload it happens 2x instead of 1x and deals 2x overload damage. Base overload is 25% with Echo Chamber it’s 35%. This 40% means 40% of 25% which at the end is 35% = exactly the same as it was pre-11.0.5 just nobody took the talent then. The thing that is stupid and it was rightfully nerfed however we lost Skybreaker’s Fiery Demise so our sustain is 100-150 k lower because we have less uptime on Fire Elemental and our Flame Shock deals less damage.

In NA a lot of people went full Mastery to just one shot pressing 2 buttons but everyone who had more than 70 iq knew that it will get sooner or later nerfed and stayed Haste. Icefury still deals meaningful damage and causes your Ancestors to cast Lava Bursts so it’s good.
You lack basic understanding of the spec. It’s not going to change. You play Earth Shock overloads only because DRE can proc from it. Earth Shock overloads damage is meaningless. It’s only there to proc these extra Ascendances.
Whole rework was stupid and shouldn’t happen.
It wasn’t F tier before the patch. It was A tier - good spec.

I think it will be slightly worse than before the patch. Because of sustain damage loss from Skybreaker’s and not playing Primal Elementalist.
It will feel kinda like before the patch because Ascendance will have as much impact as it had then. No one shots just increased damage.
I wouldn’t call 500k every Earthshock meaningless.

It’s technically impossible to be 500 k with every Earth Shock in fact since average Earth Shock hit is around 900 k. It’s Earth Shock crit that deals around 2 mln because of Primordial Fury talent. So first of all Earth Shock has to Crit and then it needs to overload. Normal Earth Shock overload is around 200 k. On average 4% of Elemental’s damage.

I literally posted a screenshot awhile back from the PTR of Earthshock damage and 10 seconds of combat time on an Ele Shaman in pure green PvP gear. I was getting 350k Earthshock Overloads with minimum gear. Also dueled an Ele Shaman for hours over there wondering why I was getting instantly nuked as soon as he popped Ascendance (This was before the hotfix on live that fixed Ascendance sending more Lava Bursts than intended).
I’ll queue a Shuffle today or duel an Ele on this character and come back with your screenshot.

the spec is actual trash at this point it’s just the same as last xpac but worse
they removed its ability to get ascendence procs from lava surge which is the absolutely awful; made it so that you can’t get lava surge from earth shocks so u actually have to cast lava burst; and there is no cdr on prim wave anymore
it was “s+++ tier” for 2 days if you stack mastery and hope you get a proc and randomly cheese someone and now that’s gone so

Overall, this is about a 15% nerf to all damage ele does in ascendance. It’s about a 5% nerf outside of ascendance.
That’s because of the ascendance overload damage increase going from +75% → +25% (pvp nerf of 50% is why these numbers are so low) and the echo chamber nerf from 40% → 20% increase to overloads (overload baseline will go from 35% → 30%).
This is a huge nerf because ele relies on multiple overloads adding up to overall large damage, vs. individual large hits. We’re talking taking 200k+ minimum off each lava burst overload in ascendance in current max pvp gear.
Best case, Ele goes to B tier, maybe low A tier (lower than before 11.0.5). It’s sustain is already kind of meh. Worst case the spec is a dumpster.
Enhance sucks. Resto is one of the worst healers. Ele was comical god mode 1 shot super saiyan, but now it’s a sleepy Goku on Tuesday. RIP shaman.
