So, Endwalker any good? Anyone play yet?

These types of excuses are the biggest cope any1 tells themselves whenever a game isnt doing well.

As someone who has played through the main storyline (and defeated the savage queues) I can only offer the personal perspective that Endwalker is infinitely more fun and engrossing that Warcraft has been in many many years. I play both games but Endwalker is by far more entertaining.

The queues absolutely were due to a fresh in rush of new players, many who are refugees from this game. That’s no excuse, that’s just the way things are. And FFXIV players 100% try to avoid spoilers because the storyline is vastly more important than the hodgepodge you find in Warcraft today.

Take it as you will. But as I said, I play both and as someone who loved Warcraft from it’s start I can tell you it’s lost a lot of it’s vibrancy, and other MMO’s are filling in the gap.

A little tip, you can at the launch screen right click your character name and choose any server with the lowest queue. (The Visit Another World system in game) and have a faster queue. The downside is you can’t post stuff on the Market board and a few other restrictions but you can play the game.

For me I’ve finished the MSQ, it was amazing slightly better than Shadowbringers 5.0 imo. Right now I’ve been busy leveling my crafters/gathers and making a huge amount of gil from selling materials. 5 million already in 7 hours. I’m nearing the amount of gil needed to buy a medium house in Ishgard once 6.1 launches and you can buy houses there.

I’m glad your enjoying it though I hope somewhere down the line you use New Story + and play through the story at some point your missing an awesome story. I know some people who will skip through the story to get a head start at crafting materials rush to make bank then play though the MSQ later (or watch it from chronological order via Unending Journey).

I will say I can’t wait to get into the new EX trials once my other buddies get through the story.

More like Shadowbringers was LB3… and Endwalker was LB4 (you know what I mean from the 5.3 trial).

Surprisingly no, console is just as viable as PC (though Ninja’s do struggle on console). All of the end game content, Savage raids EX trials and Ultimate raids have been cleared on console.

Here’s the thing. Dozens of other story driven games have had massive viewership on Twitch, games like God of War, Beyond 2 Souls, Life is Strange had large viewers on Twitch… Even Kingdom Hearts 3, a game with a lot of spoiler potential, a game also made by Square, had large viewership. Why is FF14 the exception?

Its hard to explain.

Historically all your FFXIV streamers see a dip every major patch for a few weeks or a month because everyone wants to experience the new MSQ content for themselves and not get spoiled. They have investment in there character and their main job. Another thing is people want to get immersed into the content without other voices in the room.

On the other side, alot of FFXIV players love watching new streamers like Asmongold and Preach playing FFXIV because its a refresher for the MSQ (MSQ is well over 500 hours collectively now) and people forget things.

Another thing when looking at other games like KH3, GoW, etc is most people watching FFXIV streamers play FFXIV. Other games like KH3 people watch for many reasons such as being a fan of the series but they don’t have the console to play it on, or the time and they can watch another play and get the story through them. The gameplay isn’t going to change between the streamers playthrough and theirs. As for FFXIV its different you have all of these jobs at your disposal, you have choices in dialog to make the story feel more personal. And an attachment to their character.

I mean if you don’t mind tolerating the fact that consoles are notorious for not being upgradable and will stay the same regardless while even the low-end PC’s excel forward, or don’t have real graphic options like on PC or really dislike options… sure, the consoles are viable that way. :man_shrugging:

I mean fine, but the superior version is always going to be on the PC. Especially since PC’s can be plugged into TV’s and the game came with controller support.

So it would be exactly like playing on consoles but way better with more games, higher resolution, graphics and framerate all at the same time, no extra online fees, and etc, etc.

People still watch/play David Cage games? :open_mouth:

I do agree that FF14 is no different from any other story games you’ve listed.

With that said, i think this just goes to show that you can’t always rely on Twitch for player count, quality… and i guess even popularity now if the whole “FF fans don’t want spoilers” is to be believed.

I finished the MSQ. I loved every minute of it*

*There were a few quests that dragged out far longer than they should have, and those get frustrating.

Overall the story was exactly what they sold it as, a wonderful and epic culmination of the story arc they had been building since they blew up the game and remade it. Part of me was just wondering if they had secretly been planning on doing that again as i went along.

My only criticism is that it might have been a bit too grandiose. What we ended on, the things we’ve done, it’ll be hard to follow this up with anything without it feeling strange that we’re just back to fighting regular stuff now and not…the inevitable heat death of the universe…
