So, Endwalker any good? Anyone play yet?

Title… queues are like 2 hours +

If Blizzard ever figures out that story driven game play, such that the player never loses touch with the in game narrative in WoW, not FFXIV, would not only retain it would add sub’s, then we all might as well take our chances elsewhere.

As I typed in another thread, maybe Shadowlands biggest failing is how well the story is hidden within the game play of said SL. That may be the ultimate rub, as context requires context. If the players can’t find the story to relate to, then we get SL now.

I’m really enjoying it. Skipped through the story so I couldn’t tell you a thing about what happened with all that crap, but the instances are fun so far. Queues suck, but that’s easy enough to work around since you can just use Bard performance mode shenanigans to prevent being AFK logged.

why are you even playing it if you skip the best part?

I took a couple day break to check out mage tower and let the queue die down and I’m probably already going back to FF14 tbh.

WoW’s world just doesn’t give me any kind of feeling anymore.

There is an awesome surprise, if you continue to play endwalker…infact it’s 10 times better than shadowbringers.

Best is subjective, my dude. If I’m looking for a story based experience there are other types of games that can satisfy that need much better. I play MMOs for the group content

You’re asking on the wrong forum.

The FF forums are that way ==>

It’s not bad.

I’ve beat Savage Queue a couple times. The difficultly is a bit high, but not impossible.

Story is fantastic, the WoW developers need to play through it to see how it’s supposed to be done.

I was literally thinking the same thing xD Final Fantasy games are mostly about the story. I’m not into 14 but by golly I played through and own most of the console games.

queues are brutal right now… but they gave seven days playtime so far and you actually know they’ll listen.

Nothing wrong giving hungry players what they want.

Not like Blizzard is going to satisfy player needs with a half baked Mage Tower reload.

So good… so very very good… but only IF you enjoy an engrossing and compelling story behind your MMO. WoW is rather a different kind of animal in that a large segment of the population considers the storyline to be baggage to slog through in order to unlock the system grinds for gear. FFXIV however is all about having a compelling story you’ll want to follow, and Endwalker does a great job at that.

I won’t spoil anything here but I will say I wish I’d had more boxes of tissue on hand to handle all the tears.

There is one aspect of FFXIV that I wish WoW would adopt that’s been around since Shadowbringers: The Trust System.

Just as with WoW leveling, you encounter points in your progression where you’ve unlocked a new dungeon. But in FFXIV instead of trying to get a group together where some or all of you don’t know the mechanics, FFXIV lets you run it with the NPC’s you’ve been working with along the way. This allows you to solo the instance and learn the mechanics on your own time without anyone griefing you for lack of knowledge. It also makes the storyline progression far smoother and make more sense.

Final Fantasy was a giant flop. The queues only lasted two days. No one watches it on Twitch. Less activity on steam than New World. People are already complaining about server merges.

I haven’t even played yet.

I get off work and the servers are jammed pack, with the usual 5,000 to 7,000 in que wait.

Starting to think SE is just as bad as Blizz with lip services and excuses.

(Before anyone gets mad, I’m unemployed and play on Midgardsormr, relatively low pop, so I was able to play as long as I want… pretty much 16 hours a day lol)
I finished it, it was excellent - after the first third or so. It starts off glacially slow, but after the first boss + making it to the moon, things start to pick up.
I honestly may have burnt myself out though by grinding Sage up to play it in the story and that taking like a day.

Ff14 is a queue and 2002 error simulator atm

You realize that that’s because FFXIV players are avoiding spoilers right? I expect as the rush simmers down and more folks complete the storyline you’ll start to see that pickup as folks look for tips on how to play the new jobs and new instances.

I did pretty much the same with Reaper (which is a ton of fun btw).

At least Yoshi-P apologized for it - they knew the rush was going to be crushing with the millions of new players. And they did something I’ve NEVER seen Blizzard do - they credited everyone with an extra 7 days of play time. Seriously, can you imagine a scenario where the corporate bean counters at Activision would ever allow that to happen?

One game has massive queues, the other has none. Pretty sure that is telling.
