Is it banned in “dozen+” countries? So far I can only see Belgium and the Netherlands. And Candy Crush is monetized, its a Blizzard game but is there outrage about that?
It’s proof that they will never recover their losses on anything and that WoW will permanently die in 5 years or less.
Nothing will save them now.
It’s banned in those countries because there is no clear clarification on how their in game gambling system works/odds etc… So instead of complying with that small detail and showing the world how predatory the game is they’d rather just ban it. I expected no less from Blizzard They are basically becoming EA.
As it deserves to be. A mobile game that takes six figures of micro transactions to max out one char is just absurd levels of P2W, they’re mega-whale hunting with this one.
Anyone defending this pile of garbage is on some weapons-grade copium.
I heard it’s going to be CHAOTIC!

I will still play it even if it sucks.
When the price goes down. Crappy mobile games should be free, like candy crush.
By price goes down, I mean when it costs less then $150, 000 to win the game.

Yup, I’m definitely on the WoW forums.
Gonna play it casually, i might spend a dollar or two. Nothing over $5. I know what im getting into, yeah its p2w but gameplay and environment look awesome. So im gonna try to enjoy it as a game on the side to wow until diablo 4 comes out which will probably be p2w too. But gonna play D4 casually next to wow too. So im not too concerned. Still gonna try to enjoy playing as a peasant.
ur goshdarn right
When it comes to traditional media like films or books or music, the critics have gone to college in criticism in their field and had to work their way up to respectability.
The gaming critic is your mom with a website.
Shoot! Even Rotten Tomatos has garbage reviews. I give them no credit! They rate bad movies good and good movies bad. They gave warcraft movie like 1 star, though lore wise not the best but i still liked it. At least a 3 out 5 stars. They said the movie The Last Duel is amazing and 4 out of 5 stars. That movie it crap garbage! And i would only give it 1 star. I hate movie review sites. Theyre wrong 99% of the time lol.
Yeah that’s just metabombing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to criticise the awful business of microtransactions. But the game itself is not too bad. Feels a little clunky on PC, but it is still in beta there. So it will be interesting to see how it goes.
I do feel bad for the people who genuinely care and worked hard on it for so long. While I’m sure they saw it coming from a mile away, they were still at the mercy of the corporate overlords who decide how to monetise it. I think it’s good to compartmentalise your feedback with these things. Play the game for free, judge the work that was done. But continue to blast the predatory business side of it.
I haven’t really trusted metacritic since The Last of Us Part II got review bombed a heap before people could have even realistically played the game, simply because they were mad about the direction of the story and a cutscene leaking early. The only reviews that count should come from confirmed accounts that have played/finished games.
reviewing bombing is legitimate discontent. i dont know why people act like it isnt. if someone is pissed off about how much they dislike something enough to go through the trouble to make a bunch of alternate accounts to keep expressing how much they are displeased then dang… thats a legitimately displeased person. Whenever a product gets review bombed its not for no reason, its not just because “people are mean trolls”, its because people are actually THAT displeased with the product. Is it toxic? are they violating rules by making multiple accounts? yes, yes, and yes. but to just dismissively wave it all away as irrelevant trolls is a recipe for continued failure by the company being “targetted” for review bombing.

Black Templars deployed.
Well this news makes my morning at least a little better.
I played it a little on mobile, but not a fan of mini-Diablo 3. I can see why a mobile game fan might like it, but it’s literally just watered down Diablo. And don’t get me started on the Warcraft mobile game. They are just saying “we want to diversify our revenue streams” without overtly stating it to the crowd, since that would be poor business etiquette
It’s got a 0.5 out of 10.
I guess it’s just not diverse enough.
Clearly that’s the problem.
They need an assistant vice president of culture and diversity to help out the vice president of culture and diversity. It’s the only thing that makes sense at this point.
It’s the digital equivalent of standing outside a corporate office with signs protesting some awful business practices. Sure, the nuance of the situation will likely be lost on most passersby, but the bad publicity is still a bad look for the company. And hopefully enough pressure can force some kind of change. Fingers crossed.
i’m shocked that the gaming community, which named EA the worst company on the planet, is overreacting about this too
