Thats what you took from that? Sorry ill be more clear: The majority of those people were tourists that were never going to continue playing in the first place. The RDF just made their adventure shorter and required less social interaction to accomplish their goal (heroic bis) leading to less people playing.
Of all specs this effected tank specs the most as they would get their gear even faster making a much larger tank drought. RDF would INTIALLY help with this issue but would quickly become worse.
Delayed gratification is key for MMOs with gear gains to thrive. If the gear is too quickly obtained the gear 1: feels more meaningless 2: makes people stop playing faster because their goals have been met.
I dont know where you guys got those rose covered glasses but RDF was really really bad and until they fix the other issues LFG is more than good enough for any one willing to put in any kind of effort. Form a group, make some friends, or play a game that does not require friends.
It came at the half way point. That information is easy to find.
Why do you care? I have no problem if those more casual than I am do the easy raids. I had a good guild to do the normal and heroic raids so I never used the lfr. Didn’t you have a good guild to do the normal and heroic raids?
I think we went over how they messed up on certain items in LFR that made it where if you wanted to min/max you would do lfr as well. might have been on a different thread being your reply is about the same as the last one.
In FFXIV content it’s pretty standard for healers to dps when they can. I played a healer and in easier content I would dps quite a bit. I never did in the harder raids.
Who cares? I don’t care if some tourists come into the game for a short time then move onto something else.
I get that some people only play the game to get bis. I play the game for fun. Dungeons are fun so I would do them long after there was no gear in the dungeon for me. It’s sad that some people are so emotionally starved that they thing it’s socializing to spam lfg to do dungeon x. I suggest you get over your lack of ability to have a real social interaction that is meaningful. Then you wouldn’t be so desperate for these trivial interactions that have no meaning.
It’s kind of sad that you can’t read and comprehend my posts. I don’t blame you. I blame the lower standards of the education system. It’s all been dumbed down which leaves you dumb as well. As I said I have friends and a good guild. I’d go to my guild and friends first and then join the rdf to fill out the group.
Again I have to ask, did you join the rdf queue with friends or solo? Why would you join solo? Didn’t you have any friends or a good guild to join the rdf with?
Why should I care about what the hard core guilds required people to do? If you don’t like what your guild forced you to do then join a casual guild. This all seems like a you problem and not a problem with the tool.
This is why blizzard has remain competitive in a dying mmo market. They know rdf ruined WoW retail and is now fixing it in classic releases.
Which proves my point further that classic is made as a kind of do over on releasing expacs without the bad decisions.
Im glad blizzard doesnt listen to vocal minorities about rdf and instead firmly believes ahat they think is right for their game and knowing what majority of classic players really wanted.
If you all bozos still think youre better than blizzard’s decision making team, then just make a game with rdf in it and see how succesful it becomes lol.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with the rdf. It was our dumbed down education system that made you dumb. It’s an on going problem. They just dumbed down the SATs.
Among the changes: the digital SAT will be shorter—about two hours instead of three for the current SAT, with more time per question. The digital test will feature shorter reading passages with one question tied to each, and passages will reflect a wider range of topics that represent the works students read in college. Calculators will be allowed on the entire Math section.
Retail wow has many more players then classic has.
If the majority of classic players didn’t want rdf then the majority of players wouldn’t use it. So it would be no problem if it was added and a minority of players used it.
Wrath with rdf in it was the most successful mmo of all time. I don’t think the new devs have made very good decisions but I do think the original devs were right on when they added rdf
This has been debunked multiple times on these forums and been shown to not only be false but the data shows the exact opposite.
But because you are not going to go look up the data yourself, because it might require two brain cells to bump into each other and make a spark here:
RDF was introduced in Dec of 2009 and WoW had its peak subscriber count almost a year later in October of 2010. Populations actually increased for over a year after RDF was introduced. So we cannot say it had a negative impact on subscriber counts.
The data is completely counter to the argument that RDF ruined WoW. If anything WoW saw growth after RDF was introduced.
WoW’s populations did not decline till approx. 2 years later in October of 2011 when Cataclysm was in it’s mid stride. This whole argument about RDF being some marker of WoW’s decline is just not even remotely defendable. There’s hardly a correlation there. The truth is, the lack of engaging content and lack of consistency in the lore, plus the dumbing down of the classes and talents was more to blame.
Like i said i prefered set battlegroups thats my opinion, arenas stayed in battle groups you didnt have entire millions of players to pull into matches from, it was xrealm but it wasnt the same as it is now, as i said the more limited pool of players made the rating system work when they abandoned battle groups they had to move to MMR. That was the differentiation i was making yes true within server only was never going to work in the long term or in classic because you with the exception of a couple most servers are nearly 100% single faction, merc mode was a must because of this as well, they could have acted to prevent the streamer super servers and maintain battle groups, but as soon as Faerlina amd Benediction became what they are it was too late. So yes i realize for pvp we are stuck with the full xrealm mmr system even if its personally to my chagrin. Another reason why i really hope rdf never is implemented into classic
False. The increase of population wasnt because of RDF but because WoW as game is just becoming popular around that time. RDF has nothing to do with WoW’s growth.
On the contrary, it contributed a lot to as why WoW declined during catac. Cataclysm is when RDF was truly fully implemented at the start of the expac and not something that has just been added. RDF was one of the reasons why players got bored. It provided so much ease that it changed the mindset of a lot of players into thinking that everything should just be handed to them like candies and they should put any effort into anything and just get rewarded.
Please do dig a little deeper into your research before posting false statements.
Fact is majority of players do not want RDF otherwise classic wouldve been dead at launch. Blizzard knows this thats why they chose not to implement it. Blizzard knows its customer base more than you lazy kids. If they dont, then they WoW wouldve died already. The fact that WoW is still strong up to this day is because they know not to listen to the vocal minorities in the forums
