The vote kick system worked great because I always joined the rdf with friends. I’d ask in guild if anyone wanted to do dungeon x and a couple guildies would join. We’d join rdf to fill out the last couple of slots. If we got a bad player we’d kick them. If someone tried to abuse the system I and my friends would vote no. It’s easy to get rid of toxic players with the kick system and easy to stop people abusing it if you’re playing with a couple of friends
How did you use the rdf? Did you join solo or did you join with friends and just use it to fill out the group? If you joined solo I have to ask why? Didn’t you have any friends to play with? You should have made some friends by the time rdf came out in wrath. If you were too antisocial to make friends or join a good guild by then that seems like a you problem. Not a problem with the rdf tool
“if you have enough friends to not even need dungeon finder the vote kick system is great!” just 3 man the dungeon… they are that easy. Thats what me and my friends do right now if we dont have a full guild group. Probably a lot of people doing what we do, thats why the people who want rdf want it so bad, they dont have friends.
Again I have to ask if you’re lying or stupid? I never had enough friends that I could always find a full group for every low level dungeon for everyone of my alts.
Did you really use the rdf? Did you join it solo or with friends to just fill out the group? If you joined it solo I have to ask, didn’t you have any friends?
Then why do you care if it’s added? You wouldn’t use it anyway. You just 3 man it with guildies. Why would you want to force everyone to play the same way you do? Do you have narcissistic control issues?
What was the problem with lfr? You clearly know more about it than I because I never used it. I was in a good guild and we just continued to do the normal and heroic raids. Why would anyone in a good guild do an easier raid with lower quality loot? Were you in a good guild? At what point did your guild leader tell you the guild was no longer going to do the normal raids because everyone can just do raids with lfr?
I prefer not to have an easy outlet for dopamine gains it turns people into husks and makes them less dependent on others. Litterally destroys the fabric of social interaction: Favor trading.
I do you a favor, you do me a favor, thats how people bond. Removing the need for favors removes the need for a social fabric in the first place.
Overtime you got rewards that did help you with you “higher tiers”.
In fact there was a few LFR items (mainly trinkets) that were considered better than the last tiers bis mythic trinkets. Even some set bonuses was worth going for the early set bonus.
Pro tip wrath and RDF didnt come out at the same time either.
But thats a crap argument.
RDF was in the game when ICC was in the game the raid everyone wanted to do. Then came cata…with RDF being thoughout the whole expansion…and the numbers dropped after the new expansion honeymoon.
Its because there is no delayed gains for the casuals with RDF. They all got their bis heroic gear and never played again. if they could even complete a heroic dungeon in cata.
God that was funny. Going from AOE everything in wrath to ppl crying cause if you didnt cc or make sure something didnt run to another pack you would wipe.
sometimes i wish greg wouldve kept the cata dungeons the way they were on release.
Yeah, I’m totally ignorant about lfr. I never used it. We just did guild runs on the normal and heroic raids. I was never in a hard core guild and we never cared about min/maxing or Bis because we weren’t trying to speed run the raids. We did fine just doing the raids for fun. It’s not like you have to min/max to complete the raids. If you were in a hard core guild that forced you to do lfr for some items that seems like a you problem. Either accept what the hard core guild forces you to do or join a casual guild.
Can say for myself that it didn’t ruin the experience of wotlk classic for me. It made me decide to never actually play it. I had really wanted to, but the moment I found out there’s not going to be a RDF I decided it was not worth my time.
RDF is a wrath feature and as such should be in wrath classic. And as blizzard has been going with the last patch of each expansion RDF being in from the start would be entirely consistent with classic design.
Who cares? I had a dozen alts. I didn’t have time to raid with all of them. I raided with one or two and just did dungeons with the rest of my alts. Why does it bother you that some people made alts to just do dungeons?
LFR was fine for what it was, a quick mindless raid stomp that maybe let you fill in some pieces of gear that were missing. My guild used to do it during drunken screw around guild night and we almost certainly contributed to PL being added
What it wasn’t was a replacement for what they screwed up in Cata by merging the raid lockouts and difficulties. Which destroyed a lot of pug/casual raiding that was going on for people who didn’t necessarily want completely brain dead mode.
In other words the damage was already done before they added LFR and LFR certainly didn’t fix it. Flex raiding might have at that point.
