They definitely won’t close the project, they’ll re-release cata next. They’re not gonna pass up on all the money they make off the hype train for nostalgia lol. Easy money selling old assets.
Wouldn’t surprise me if they add RDF but make us jump through hoops to use it. Would not surprise me abit. Devs don’t like being told they are wrong.
I can see Pathfinder for RDF. Discover and run every dungeon in the game to unlock it.
RDF would definitely have kept my invested in classic since I could level my alts my way. However, I agree, it’s not why classic is dead, if it even is that, it’s just that the content is easy and the game has become stagnant. Not to mention all the other new releases, including DF.
Thats 3.4.1, which is on ptr.
He is talking about 3.4
explain the year AFTER when RDF was added when subs only continued to increase. it wasnt until a couple months into cata that subs began to drop. i agree the drastic changes in character mechanics contributed to it, it made my paladin tank feel extremely clumsy and clunky to play and i pretty much stopped tanking and switched to dps for a month or so before i just unsubbed. and from what experience i have with it, LFR wasnt a wise choice, just led to arguments. raiding is something in which you need to have very specific people in specific roles. randomly pugging that can be ALOT more difficult for success than a 5 man.
New expansion hype and prep. On top of the lore pull of finally killing the litch king.
Translation: “I’m incapable of realizing people play the game for different reasons, and value different parts of the game.”
Look outside your bubble and maybe you’ll realize what’s important to you isn’t important to others, and vice versa.
By the way RDF was always cross-realm.
I find heroic groups in less than 30 seconds.
Sounds like a skill issue on you .
and theres the elitism. you didnt play with us in vanilla classic so you dont belong here. well heres the other side of that coin, i played vanilla, i played tbc, i played wrath… and so on… heres the thing, i never got a decent guild built or a ton of friends until RDF was introduced. i hated the quiet solo grind and the fight to get into a run pre rdf, ive never been a min maxer or a server firster, i thought it was ridiculous and stupid to put in the time in a VIDEO GAME that required it. im not the guy to play 36 hours straight to get server first grandmaster at anything, im part of the 85%(just a guess) of the player base that actually wants to enjoy the game and not blow through to end game. and part of that enjoyment was the ability to quickly pug a dungeon without worrying whether or not i was going to get a dungeon, knowing i had a guarantee to a dungeon even when it was offpeak times let me relax into farming or questing while i waited. RDF introduced me to hundreds, if not more, of people that i would NEVER have gotten a chance to meet without it. without rdf i was isolated on a server with a limited number of players, and i was fighting to get runs against the same people everyday… and i would guess everyone knows that once you run into someone that has their class nailed, you are always going to choose that guy over a new guy every time. even if they dont show up until after youve built the group and you kick someone because you saw him come on.
rdf made it efficient, made it fair, made it a bit more challenging by giving you the random factor to adapt too in each and every dungeon. rdf didnt need to be babysat or spam in group to get a run, but you COULD spam that group and build your group then que if you wanted too.
Anti-rdfers actually arguing people shouldn’t be leveling alts anymore.
they want everyone gone so they can all be on one server by themselves and feel special while ganking their lowbie friends and all racing to the end. what they dont understand is that they are continuing the slow decline of wow, and when the player numbers drop enough, blizzard will realize its over and shut it all down. already have people leaving and headed back to the private options. ive been invited to leave several times by folks on my realm that are leaving for a particular private option
You should probably take this advice yourself.
Many anti rdf peoplw realize that rdf is important to the pro rdf people. But the problem is there is already dozens of games made to fit your mmorpg lobby based game desires. If you cant stand playing wotlkc becauee it doesnt have rdf, you have other options. Todays “modern” mmorpg almost all of them have a rdf system. We anti rdf are playing an older version of wow, to avoid some of these types of designs and thats part of why classic as a whole was made. Acting like a game you dont enjoy should be changed for you instead of looking into other options is selfish and entitled because you want to change the game in ways that takes away from those that enjoy what it is now. You have many other options. You are free to go to those games. Wotlkc doesnt force you to stay here.
No, thats not the argument but feel free to keep attacking fake arguments that you made up to avoid the actual arguments.
Not to go into detail, but private servers are bustling right now.
Anyway, who cares what forum trolls want. They don’t matter. I look at Classic from Blizzard’s perspective. It’s easy money. It’s a game that’s already been made. They just re-release it, sell a ton of Deluxe Editions, rake in the micro-transactions, and put it in maintenance mode. They’ll keeps going that because…why wouldn’t they? Authenticity, a quantity experience, long-term health mean nothing to them. They cash in at launch. That’s all they care about.
I think there was a degree of legitimate passion from Blizz when Classic launched. Much less so with TBCC. With Wrath and here on out sales and marketing have taken over.
Your right, the pro rdf trolls dont matter. But you have me on ignore because you are to affraid to have an actual discussion, which is how i know you are a troll.
I have no trouble with the current system. In fact i like speaking with people to form groups. Whether or not im the minority, you can keep debating. But im gonna go dungeon level an alt after this post, thanks.
The other factors that led to slower play from the classic group is that Naxx wasnt released in wings to bottleneck the content slightly, it released basically on day one and was on farm by gearscore checkers (for NAXX lmfaooo) and RMT/GDKP runs by week 3-4.
And then the arena season, for another sect of players, has been a complete uncompetitive dumpster fire waste of effort and time because they screwed up the honor grind for the people who couldnt no-life 70-80. No-lifers had full honor gear day one arena from win trading on multi queue WG hours (unintended glitch which tool a week to be fixed) and some people were over 1800 before all the world firsts were claimed for various achievements, let alone enough people actually being level 80 to make the brackets competitive.
TLDR: Naxx came too soon and people forgot how easy it truly was even in 2008, so farming it is basically dome already. They also totally broke arena with an early start for streamers and no-life players who got to 80 in 2-4 days and could burn the brackets down in week 1.
Damn, didn’t know people still did Outland heroics.
His forum avatar is lvl 79, so he is likely 80 and it just hasnt updated on the forums yet. Ive had the forums not update a character for 2 months before, even with logging in and out of the forums and that character.
You have 5 80s you are done leveling alts it sounds like. What alts are you currently leveling and what is their lvl?
Uh did you just assume I’m done leveling alts so you could start an argument?
That’d be called a strawman sir.
