So, can I just skip bastion and go to the next zone?

You can voice your opinion all you want about the game, but at the end of the day blizzard is who determines how the game is played. And if you don’t like it you don’t have to play.

And to OP, I understand your frustration, but its a video game. It has no bearing on irl cults. Kyrians aren’t even portrayed as being right in this scenario. Unfortunately there is no way to skip that quest without leveling another toon first. If this bothers you, then I’d suggest not continuing to play the game as I don’t see them adding a skip to appease a single player. More power to you whichever you choose.

Yep felt the same way. Horrible the first time around feeling completely trapped. Don’t do any side quests and do the main only. You can’t even do end game stuff if you don’t finish.

Lol

This is the answer you were looking for OP. Don’t play games that aren’t fun. They are roping you in with a time sunk fallacy.

FWIW I’ve simply quit playing; just haven’t cancelled my sub yet. I’ve never hated a MMO expac as much as I hate Shadowlands, & halfway through Maldraxxus, I just can’t even, any more.

Happy New Year, everybody.

Oh no, I’m not trying to derail the thread at all.

People have been telling you that there is no way you can skip Bastion, and for you to just suck it up and play, or to unsub.

I’m just telling them that they don’t need to try convincing you anything because you’re going to keep on playing this game regardless.

Btw, it’s “you’re”, not “your”.

I just read all previous 84 responses to this thread. I kept waiting for the OP to finally let on they were just having a bit of fun and trolling us. But…um…I think the OP is serious. I weep for this planet. Also, said at one point he didn’t have a sub but was gifted time, and then a few posts later he said he would ask for a refund. Lie much? Or were you insinuating you were going to ask for a refund from the expansion price? If so, you are out of luck buddy. Just do the quest. You know you’re going to eventually.

This attitude is disturbing and way too common on this forum. Addicts enabling and shaming each other. “Just stick the Shadowlands needle in and let the pain go away. Everyone else is doing it”.

I felt the same though I took a few days break around 52 in bastion. Just couldn’t stomach it much longer. It’s gotten a lot better in maldraxxus.

But the story is written poorly. Perhaps I’m no longer the target market it seems to be catered towards 8-12 year olda

It’s a game. Games have paths. This is not a free for all. Step down from your podium. He will do the quest. Probably already has.

Telling someone they’re going to do a quest eventually because they have no choice if they want to progress is not enabling an addict. This whole situation is blown way out of proportion by the OP.

Their decisions in this situation mean literally nothing, and rather than acknowledge their character’s not actually doing the quest and simply have the headcanon be that their character has nothing to do with this, or could even be frowning in disgust, she would rather send in a ticket on a holiday weekend and try to force Blizzard to appease her.

It’s nonsensical.

If you were leveling in threads of fate yes. If you’re leveling via the campaign you must do the main story stuff in each zone.

I agree with the OP that the on-rails story is terrible & that I wish I could just do whichever zone I want in whatever order, at least once I finish the initial Maw run.

But Blizz didn’t make the expac that way, & there’s no way they’re going to make a change in their product just for one person, & I greatly doubt they’ll change the expansion when they’re mostly happy with it anyway, so in that context, yes, the OP is being ridiculous.

Just wanted to bring this thread back to point out that the OP did in fact do the quest.

Yes. Yes they did. Just like we said they would.

You sure showed him. You can feel better about yourself now. Now put that SL needle back in your arm.

He’d be missing a big part of his class in the form of his cov ability. It isn’t worth it. Yes you probably COULD skip it but I don’t even think he’d get world quests. Or even unlock any of the other zones.

because FF14 has the first job go through the MSQ so ofc Ion and co were like “thats why that game is doing so good!” and now you have to play through the nonsenical story like how do angels know they’re missing memories if their brains has been wiped and uthor is just a guy.

while FF14 has Deep Dungons, daily Roulettes, fates, beast tribes, weekly challenges, guild XP boots, lvl difference xp boosts, all sorts of food xp boosts…also character boosts cost less than half of WoW’s and go on sale a lot more.

wow has none cause they want you to feel the immersion…and engagement time is whats keeping wow afloat so no shortcuts for you.

Nope, no free will allowed in Shadowlands. The reeducation squad will be by shortly to erase your memories.
