I’m level 53. I’ve done enough Bastion, the entire zone is pretty awful, I’ve found myself completely checking out, ignoring quest text, npc dialogue, skipping walking cut scenes if I can, everything.
Now I’m at the purity temple, and honestly I have zero interest in doing this quest, I just want to leave bastion to rot.
Is there a way to just skip it all? Can I just leave at a certain level?
Edit: Found a work around that worked for me. Sucks that blizzard decided to go the terrible FF14 route with main storyline questing and railroading, wouldn’t be the first terrible thing they tried to copy from a worse MMO.

I’m pretty sure you have to get to the quest that sends you to the next zone. At least on your main character. Once you get to your second character I believe you can skip whatever you want

If it’s your first character than you must complete the campaign in the zone to go to another. If not you can change to the thread of fate and level wherever you want.

sorry, OP, but it’s on rails.
it sucks, i don’t know why and i don’t agree but…it’s on rails.
edit: one of the few things I did not like about this expansion, next to the Ember Court. But it goes by fast, really.
edit edit: levels don’t really play a role in this also…leveling is all kinds of afterthought.

I’d rather open a ticket and attempt to get a DM to skip the entire questline for me, than do this quest.

debatably, you could go sandbox and grind to 60, then dungeons and raids should all be open.
i don’t think anyone tried. i’m semi-curious myself.
You have to complete the zone campaign to be able to go to maldraxxus… You can’t go if you don’t finish it.

Nope, you can’t choose a covenant unless you have finished all 4 campaigns.

okay. but you can skip that too.
let’s think bigger. let’s say he starts killing … angels. he levels up. they level up. he still gets xp. he eventually dings 60.
no covenant but dungeons are open. groups can summon. either by stone or by warlock portal. LFD will work. he’d be a mini doubleagent.

Or read the entire quest, and follow the story. The quests are written at the fourth grade level, after all.
I’ve read the quest, I know what it wants me to do.
And I refuse. I will simply open a ticket to have it skipped, or attempt to. I’d much rather wait 24 hours.
Then you didn’t read it from top to bottom.
Don’t waste your time. If it’s your first character you won’t skip.

Not if you’re going through the first time. You must complete the main campaign of Bastion before you can move on, and the same is the case for all zones. Shadowlands leveling is incredibly narratively driven. Even if you hit 60 in zone 3, you must finish the main campaign through the fourth zone as well.

I read it from top to bottom.
I know what it wants me to do, and I don’t care to complete the quest for this cult BS.
I’ll spend the time doing so. I’d rather spend my time in this way, than do that quest.
So instead of doing a quest you’re going to wait 24+ hours (holiday) and THEN do the quest anyways? Or when they tell you no will you just unsub, quit, stop giving blizzard your money, etc

I’ll just submit another one.
I personally believe I am far more stubborn, and I’ll spend my time gathering herbs and doing other things I can manage, and see if I can get around it.
It’s an RPG. I’m not doing that quest, I will find a way around it, and would much rather spend time finding a way around it, than doing it.

it’s a themepark RPG. and the ‘intro’ is the longest ever this time. I wish you succeed - but i don’t believe you will.
Until you finish the story in all four zones you will be locked out of anything endgame wise. No dungeons, no raids, no PvP. I am in a WoW group on Facebook and someone is experiencing the same issue they don’t want to do the quests. But they are now 60 and can’t queue for dungeons, do WQ, PvP or raid. Blizzard will tell you that you will have to do the quest to progress.
