So, can I just skip bastion and go to the next zone?

It does seem a little unreasonable. Still on Blizzard though bc they force you to finish their 4th grade story writing effort. Never before have we hit level cap and been forced to finish their masterpiece of RP walking through zones hearing a boring story that puts you to sleep. Of course, the way it’s always worked wasn’t broken, so Ion fixt it…to waste time.

You are going to do the quest. But I can give you an option that will let you maintain some small amount of pride. Do you want to skip the quest on this character? OK:

Level another character to 60. Complete the entire main story line on the other character, including this quest.

Now on this guy, go to the fatescribe, choose threads of fate, then pick a covenant, unlocking the ability to refuse to do the next part of the main quest that you object to (that you are still forced to do after 60).

Now you can RP about how on that guy you’re “sticking it to the man” and doing things your way.

So… what your saying is, that I hated WoD, and think it was worse than every single expansion that came after it, and your acting like it’s something out of the ordinary that I’m playing WoW after that expansion…?

What was the point of this comment? What does my dislike of WoD (Which I spent most of the expansion unsubbed and not playing due to the sheer amount of issues with it) have to do with the thread at hand?

Only thing I can think of is your just purposely trying to derail it and make this a completely different thread.

I like Bastion. It’s the only zone that I could see spending the whole expansion in. Ardenweald is nice, but perma night. It’s basically Shadowmoon Valley all over again. The other two are just too dreary to serve as a home base.

Repeatedly creating the same ticket will get you suspended eventually. Be careful.

I came to the forums to see if anyone had found a way around the on-rail style questing, and if it was possible to get around it by outleveling the zone, or going through a different questline.

Yes, oh dear, how dare I not want to partake in a literal cult-mentality reinforcing quest, in which I personally object to, and find abhorrent. Clearly not wanting to support and reinforce cult-like mannerism and attitudes marks me as someone with a mental disorder.

Further, this again, is not and unprecedented issue. Player outcry has made blizzard add skipping options to questlines before that were part of the main storyline. All they would need to do is flag this quest is a side quest, not a main story quest, or give a text blurb to skip it.

In the end, I came here looking for an answer to a question, got said question, then decided to attempt another avenue of approaching the issue. Your attempted psyche evaluation is unnecessary, nor is it productive in the already finished conversation.

I do wonder how many times over OP could have completed the quest and be on his way by now.

And I chose not to, because I don’t want to. Your point?

The whole point is I don’t want to reinforce this cult mentality, nor do the quest that enforces it. I have zero interest in being part part of bastion, I don’t care about their storylines and quests, and do not support what they want me to do in the quest, and would rather seek alternative means to get around it.

Would just doing it and being done with it be easier? Yes, but that’s completely besides the point, because I don’t want to, and I don’t want to be forced to do so.

Literally unpersoning someone, and stripping away every ounce of individuality they have and acting like individuality is a bad this is not cool in my book, and will never be cool in my book, and I refuse to participate in this cult tripe.

Tough luck. Blizzard isn’t going to change their quests just for you. You literally could have been max level by now but instead you want to whine on the forums.

Stop doing the side quests and only do the ones with a shield symbol [main quest line] to get through it faster, but if this is your first time though, you have to complete each main quest line before you can go to the next, If you have already completed all the main quest lines on another character, then, you can go to oribos and take the shortcut but then you do NO main quest lines in any area, and only world quests, side quests, and covenant quests.

You will hold Activisions hand and walk through every little bit of their masterpiece zone you ungreatful OP. How dare you try to play this game in your own way.

If it’s a side quest it can skipped. If it’s part of the main story line and it’s your 1st time through, it can’t be skipped. There is no out leveling a zone skip. The main story line leads you into the next zone and is part of learning about Shadowlands. Sometimes you have to do things you don’t like to progress.

Threads of Fate is there if he wants to play his own way on alts. You should always have to go through the story first time through.

I shall have to address this interloper with Lord Kotick. We can’t have people just IGNORING our lavish content. What do they think this is? Open world?

If you’re that bothered by having to go through the story in a video game then maybe games aren’t for you.

Once you complete the campaign quest there, yeah you can move on. You don’t need to do everything.

Thanks. I wouldn’t know what to do without you and Activision telling me how to have fun.

Here’s a suggestion: Do the full campaign on an alternate character who you RP as someone who would do that quest, and then switch back to your main and use Threads of Fate to avoid having to do that quest on your main.

We lost flying so we could appreciate the art assets. Now, we’re being forced to appreciate the story, as well.
