there is nothing casual about that schedule
there was a time where the occasional raid BoE was enough to stay on top of it by itself heh.
they didnt like that i guess.
had 1 boe this season so far.
I sell everything in ah i can. Builds up over time. Also get some 1 time bumps with rare mog. Had a stinkrot smasher go last xpac for 250k
Oh i also just dont craft or gem or enchant unless mandatory. Which it never is unless doing high end stuff which im content not doing these days.
For consumables best prof is always alch cause you use flasks more than anything id bet.
Saves a ton of cash
There is. When prices get too high, the items don’t sell. This tends to drive prices down.
EXCEPT… there are few gold sinks and it’s ridiculously easy to buy gold, both illegally and legally. This is a recipe for inflation. It’s not a player-run economy system, it’s the system by design.
Why bother? It can all be deleted by Blizz one day and they just say “Whoops sorry”.
like yeah man why even get out of bed in the morning you are just gonna die anyway.
For example I’m raiding up to first mythic bosses and pushing M+ for the mount each patch. For those I’m spending 200k - 300k. I don’t like running around collecting herbs so what I do? In the first two months of each patch, boe items sales are hot. I’m selling 2 or 3 Heroic boes and that covers me for the patch.
It’s just like anything else in real life, you pay for conveniences that save you time, which is also a commodity.
I like the token system and have been using it to pay my sub and other in games perks for about 7 or 8 months. The prices typically range from 260k gold to 333k right at beginning of xpac. I realize those buying my crafted items at 10k (thats not every sale) probably sold tokens. It keeps the in-game economy going.
I assume the price is set based on demand, and if it ever spirals past 400k I’ll stop doing it and go back to paying the sub. Wow’s got a good thing in the token system for now.
I easily earn just shy of 9k/hour just doing my weeklies. Breaks 10k if I pick every treasure I pass. So as long as you interact with the greater “world”, you’ll be fine. If all you want to do is raid/dungeon/BG log then sure, you’ll have to buy a token.
So that’s like 35 hours for 1 token
Why yes, it is fair because the items were either crafted by other players or dropped from high-end content run by other players. Especially early on, those players were often burning their own gold on mats or consumables to be able to do the things necessary to obtain those items. They weren’t conjured from the ether.
I don’t buy tokens, I just get gold somehow
I literally don’t even know what I do for it, I blew a bunch to get the dinosaur mount and have made back way more than what I’ve spent since then
Situations change from one patch and one expansion to another. Gather in the weeks before a patch launches and sell just afterwards. If you find a patch or expansion where you’re earning a lot, milk it for all you can. I’m still living off my Tailoring and Alchemy gold from Shadowlands and proably will until the next expansion.
Making gold in this game is almost never worth your time unless you’re broke IRL. If you calculate the value of gold to dollars, and dollars to time, purchasing a token is 100% worth it.
Now, if you enjoy farming gold or playing the AH, then by all means…
in classic, I used to gold farm. my warrior farmed scarlet monastery. in TBC, i played my rogue to farm chests and mines, mostly in mana tombs. plus I did some aoe mob grinding with the rogue in kara.
i actually don’t find that I need to farm too much gold to keep up with what I need in retail. I tank m+ and run pretty frequently. I am only getting to ~+7, but I still flask (2star), mana oil (3 star) and personal food. my enchant quality depends on the gear level, but I have no problem saving a bunch of gold with a 2star enchant for non-champion/hero gear.
I do craft a couple of items, but it is usually only a weapon and a trinket to get me started.
world quests, delves, LFG bonus for tanks, mine/herbs. I also just burn my brain out grinding the wolves for leather and drops (not a 2x4 farm, just lil ole me). a little bit here and there keeps me going.
I recently sold a token when it was over 300kg, but mostly dabble in the game content for gold.
I buy a few at the end of each expansion and just let it sit until I need it.
I bought one token once, felt gross, I spent it all on the black market AH. Never again, I’d rather be broke.
I am one of these people lol. I find farming absolutely relaxing and very satisfying! Farming is a lot of fun to me
Various ranks on mats, enchants, pots, etc need to die. It’s not worth it for me to work on professions with their new system. It was bad in DF and it’s even worse now.
I was that person for a long time too but the last handful of years I got over it. Nothing wrong with either approach.
