So I have a problem that I can only vaguely mention…And it’s 9 days, out of the blue and all I got was a blank email and blizzard legit just doesn’t have customer service.
I virtually never talk in-game, so I cant imagine what I could have said or done to deserve anything, and again I just got a blank email and no responses for why I am suddenly in trouble. I am confused and already considering just shutting off my account finally.
You get people in the forums reporting people and abusing the flagging system just because you disagree with them, no matter how you word it…nothing gets done.
You clearly have people abusing the in-game reporting system as well because I was doing M+ all day yesterday, so I can’t imagine having time to say anything report worthy.
Why do I keep getting in trouble, getting no explaination, and then almost every time you back off the punishment because you realise the reports were false and were not reviewed by literally any real human being. Five times in a row now I have been dished out some kind of punishment for actually nothing, only to have blizzard undo it because they realied they were wrong.
So did I do something this time for real? OR is this yet another false alarm over somebody mad because somebody dared disagree with them?
Can’t say I want to keep playing a game where the very people I am supposed to play with are my worst enemy.
I see why so many people just flat out don’t have chat on and don’t interact outside of their guilds…You don’t even have to do anything wrong for you to do something wrong.
I already did that, and nothing. I just want to know what was even said or done by me. I was mostly afk and doing M+ all day yesterday, standing around outside the STonevault still trying to get a necklace lol.
Pretty sure it’s just another example of somebody abusing the reporting system.
I’ll just say this…the things I get reported for are literally childish. I made a post once saying “I am the Magic Conch, ask me anything and I will reveal the truth”.
That’s it. Literally, verbatim.
3 day suspension that got undone the same day because somebody looked at it only once I put in a ticket twice.
They seem to be quick to dole out automated justice, but are slow to review any actual problems.
IT just said I was in trouble, thanks and regards from blizzard…if you want to appeal, etc, etc.
This is the seventh blank email I have gotten, and for sure three times I have been falsely reported. The last time was supposed to be a week long thing, but I appealed and somebody actually reviewed what I said and realised it wasn’t a violation and that clearly people were juste abusing the system.
So thank you, and hopefully I can hear about it from a GM.
yeah. and I am trying to figure out what happened in-game. That’s why I am confused because I was just doing M+ and talked for a few minutes.
I think it’s just somebody who didn’t like me and got their friends, yet again, to group up and report me.
I have seen it from past guild members, I have seen it from other guilds…it’s just a think people do because they all know the reports aren’t reviewed until things like this happen.
And if blizzard thought I said something wrong, its best to show me what I said to show me where I could do better.
Just taking away my home out of the blue with no real explanation…can’t say I learned anything other than the fact that I don’t want to be a part of that lol.
I do appreciate the help. Even if I did say something and don’t remember it, I just want to know what even happened.
That’s it.
It is extraordinarily unlikely that it was based on anything you said today. It takes a bit of time to investigate reports, it wouldn’t be based on something happening in a dungeon while you are currently inside it.
Also, this isn’t how it works. If you got an account action, a GM had reviewed logs and issued that action. Automatic responses are only temporary silence for chat reports.
I will say this. I went basically 15 years without really ever getting in trouble.
Suddenly, just this year, I seem to keep getting flagged over the most minor of comments. Even after being nice sometimes, it’s wild the kinds of accusations people will make just to try and troll.
Don’t get me wrong. I have been banned before. I deserved it. In my defense it was me drying to defend my entire guild from a multiboxxer who pretended to be a whole guild by themselves. They had 27 accounts as I found out. They were a known criminal even.
They stalked us and all sorts of things like doxxing.
Took two years of my guild reporting them on the daily, and the FBI, to get Blizzard to do something.
So I don’t have much faith in the service overall.
AGain, its why I am more thinking it’s just some kids who don’t understand that people can just have a conversation and that people are free to disagree. I see that a lot lately too. Trying to just talk about wow and somehow everybody wants to troll or bring up politics and then say some heinous crap…nothing.
But then I have seen posts just asking about your favourite vendor food get taken down.
I will leave it at that until I can find more info from the people at blizzard.
AGain, if I did actually say something, thats cool. I messed up.
But I doubt I did. 15 years and suddenly I have problems? Methinks not.
Yes, because other players are tired of the toxicity in-game. There is also the ease of reporting. In the past, you had to open a general ticket, put in all the information, and then you couldn’t open another ticket until that one was addressed…at which time you had to stop what you were doing and talk to the GM, just for them to say “we can’t tell you what happened, but we’ll investigate”.
Now, it’s three clicks and you’re done. People are not going to tolerate toxic and abusive chat anymore, so you need to learn how to play the game nice.
No. You were told above why it was: profanity (and politics, probably in the LFG channel which is NOT why the LFG channel exists).
I am asking for proof.
Being told that you alledgedly broke a rule isn’t the same thing as them showing up with proof of it.
I don’t recall doing or saying anything that would violate any tos or eula, so I ask questions.
Just saying “You did a bad” isn’t helpful and won’t teach anybody anything because they don’t even know what they did…
lol yeah. so somebody disagreed with me because I joined in on a discussion.
Sorry, but there is nothing in there that says we can’t talk about politics, and frankly nobody was using bad words for once.
But again, that doesn’t teach me anything, its just a broad strokes.
Not helpful, not very honest, and it’s more that a handful of people didn’t agree with me while they were also talking about politics.
the difference, is that I have the ability to be okay with people disagreeing with me.
I don’t turn around and report them just for disagreeing with me.
Which is what they are doing, and that alone is a violation of the rules of flagging and reporting.
So again, an abuse of the reporting system. Thus my curiosity and appeal.
And also a bit of the "well if I am getting in trouble for talking politics in chat, then why isn’t literally all of the other 30+ people in chat also banned?
You can’t mete out justice randomly. Either everybody in the chat was bad, or none of them were. You can’t have both. And profanity is barely even noteworthy.
Hell, half the npc use bad words…I don’t see you making them take time off lol.
There’s nothing in there that says that this game is about IRL politics either. This game is about World of Warcraft. Not Elections of the United StateCraft.
When participating in communication of any kind (chat, voice communication, group finder), you are responsible for how you express yourself. You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others.
Hate speech and discriminatory language is inappropriate, as is any obscene or disruptive language. Threatening or harassing another player is always unacceptable, regardless of language used. Violating any of these expectations will result in account restrictions. More serious and repeated violations will result in greater restrictions.
They’re not. A GM actioned your account, nobody abused or mass-reported you.
Ultimately, you got your answer here, and seem to recall where/when the infringing action took place. If you wish to appeal, you can do that through tickets, which you’ve begun.
Yeah, this would be why you’d get action - if you have to bypass the word filter on the forums, it is going against the rules. No, using shorten or misspelling of words is against the rules, too.
