So, Beta testers A question

You think wrath is fleshed out enough to launch within the next 30 days?
If not why,
If so, start spamming the bug report button with Launch wrath now lol

It’s not quite to Blizz’s usual level of polish yet. I just ran into an FoV bug in Howling Fjord and reported it. I’m finding about a bug an hour right now. None of them are show-stoppers. Everybody over here is being very diligent as far as I’ve seen. Be patient! We’re all doing our best to help make sure you get the best version of Wrath you can.

time is money, and my current bnet balance only has enough for a month :stuck_out_tongue: id like this to happen so we get pre-patch bonus / new servers so i can use the time i have left doing that and let it drop till wrath launch xD. heck ask blizz for a key and throw me 1 <3 lmao

no.
The beta has so many bugs, there’s no way it will launch in 30 days.
Would be surprised if it happend for sure.

There is still a lot missing from the game and a lot of quests bugged, a lot of mechanics not working properly there might be a chance we see a mid August prepatch but we would need to see a huge number of bug fixes for that and we haven’t even started testing addons/api nor raids

Having been on many betas this seems quite close to being able to launch in 30 days to me. Yes there’s bugs. There is always a lot of bugs - that remarkably get fixed in the last few weeks. On the betas I’ve been on it has been very buggy for weeks with long reported bugs not being fixed and then a final update patch appears and it is almost totally bug free. That being said I don’t think we are launching in 30 days - server mergers don’t happen until Aug 9th - so I imagine new servers and levelling bonus soon after that with pre-patch a fortnight later and launch 4 weeks later - which at the earliest would be close to the end of September.

If you are stressed over losing one month of bnet balance, maybe wasting time on a game isn’t for you.

No way.
was in a rush so that was just a typo.

Theorized release date is September 13th, 20th, or 27th for Wrath with Pre-Patch on our around August 16th and the 50% XP buff 1-2 weeks prior (August 2nd or August 9th).

Wrath is in no way ready with how many bugs are still in the beta and raids haven’t been tested yet either.

Theorized… by whom?

The answer is no, Wrath won’t be ready in a month. Wrath Classic is rumored to launch in September (2 months) with Prepatch in August (in a month).

We’ll have to see how this week’s build progresses.

So far I’ve still have seen several major bugs on talents (Some Ret paladin judgements not returning mana, Arms Warrior unable to Overpower, bugged pets for Unholy DK). Lots of major things.

No Addon support yet, also another big one.

UI bugs left and right.

Script errors on major events (such as the DK starting Zone end event, Light’s hope chapel NPCs being able to attack during RP and kill everyone while Tirion Speaks).

I would say 100% not ready, will it be ready in a month? possibly. We’ll see how the build this week goes.

By a lot of people? By looking at TBC Beta, which lasted 56 days. March 23rd, 2021-May 18th, 2021 (Pre-Patch) with TBC being released 2 weeks later on June 1st.

Wrath Beta released June 22nd/23rd, 56 days after that is August 17th/18th (Pre-Patch). Blizzard stated they wanted a longer Pre-Patch of 3-6 weeks, so 3-6 weeks after August 17th/18th is in the September 13th-27th timeframe I mentioned.

Ahh. Maybe Wrath’s beta will last longer as it seems to need more iterations. I’m working as fast as I can though! All of these in the past half hour:

This beta feels a lot “worse” in terms of the amount of basic fundamentals that are broken. I would not use BCC beta timeline as a guide.

Here’s a non-exhaustive list of issues:

  • We don’t even have a functioning Icecrown yet.
  • Opening tradeskill windows for Alchemy/Inscription currently cause the game to have a critical error.
  • There are random disconnects that roll characters back 5 minutes that occur when: accepting quests, turning in quests, changing zones, zeppelin/boats, getting on flightpaths, going into/leaving dungeons, learning spells from the trainer, etc.
  • There’s been zero raid testing to speak of.
  • A lot of different resource nodes simply do not work.
  • Wintergrasp is non-functioning.
  • Certain items do not have the stats they say they have (ex: the healing mace from the Ampitheater says it has 13mp/5 but that stat is not actually applied at all)
  • There are several broken quests in each zone that prevent progress on certain quest chains
  • Engineering cloak enchants do not override previous enchants, so you can effectively have a doubly enchanted cloak
  • Fundamental class abilities that simply do not work or work intermittently (ex: Paladin’s Righteous Fury seems to not generate much extra threat if any at all)

At this point BCC Beta was a fit and finish state of affairs. Thus far Wrath has been a true beta in which everyone is discovering bugs.

It also kind of has to release in September.

4th quarter is already packed, they need a big launch in Q3.

Also remember, our beta client is generally weeks behind the internal one.

While I agree that there are a TON of bugs that need to be fixed, early not even 1 month into the Beta and still over 2 months out of that timeframe that was theorized. Maybe September 13th is a little bold, which for myself now that something came up, I’m hoping it’s the 20th or 27th lol.

I think using the TBC beta as a foundation is acceptable, but it would be nice to actually HEAR from Blizzard regarding these issues and how they’re addressing them, if they’re addressing them at all…especially if they really want Wrath to release in September.
