Your reading comprehension, or rather lack off, is a marvel to behold.
OMG WAIT, UR TRENG?!? TRENG IS ALSO TRENG??? WTF!!!??!
jk you’ll always be dread in my heart
Varian’s death was better, because what Blizz is doing with Jin right now is pure damage control. Because King Chin had a replacement prepared long before his death, no matter how many issues people have with Anduin. He was given a heroic moment that showed him valiantly striving against impossible odds, and an meaningful end. Then we had a nice funeral for him later, with an entire section of the city redone for him.
Vol’jin, the Warrior, Priest, Monk hybrid who’s regeneration was so potent he survived having his throat slit by a blade coated in poison meant to mitigate it, was gutted by trash mob. After being allowed to do jack all with his Warchief title, in a quest that was already treating Sylvanas as Warchief before Jin even hit the ground. Then followed this up by making his death all about Sylvanas, and having “da spirits” compel Jin to overlook both he and his patron’s deep contempt for Windrunner. To propel her to the Warchief spot, which she clearly was only meant to be in to settup BfA. Oh … and it took two years for Blizz to make his half-baked B-Ranker replacement Rokhan finally go “meh, guess I’ll lead mon”.
If you weren’t so sad and flailing so hard Morgh, I’d respond with a serious post, but you flip flop so hard, pancakes are jealous.
I read and comprehend your post fine. Not my fault you say one thing when you really mean 10 different other things. Be more concise with your posts.
Come on, I know you can do better than this. Just a little effort dear. Just a little, I have faith in you
Requested to quote post this for Kyalin.
I will say, I do appreciate Alynsa’s post.
And yeah, I don’t know how to fix this issue either - except that I will say that I find it rather gross to have the Horde make amends, and that this would be the resolution we’re looking for. I just don’t think in those terms. This is a rivalry and I do not get my satisfaction from having the other team pat me on the head after they just blew me out on my own turf saying “there there, let me kiss your cut to make it feel better”. I don’t want Horde players feeling sorry for me. I want my team to get back on that field, kick some serious tail, and reclaim the ability to be respected again. Do I worry about numbers and civilians? Not really - Blizzard left more than enough wiggle room in Elegy to state pretty clearly that the Night Elves aren’t just gone , and that their military on paper should be able to wage a joint campaign with the Draenei and the Worgen to retake Ashenvale. (Also - before someone says “the entire Horde”, do consider terrain, and do consider that a global faction only can concentrate all of its efforts on one spot when the writers go out of their way to ignore its global interests, and the realities of guarding a global coalition. I don’t like it when Blizzard ignores logistics, I especially don’t like it when it happens here)
The challenge shows up in how you portray the Horde side of this, and I’ve heard arguments from both sides. On one side, no one wants to play through a loss (WoT should teach us that), and there’s a feeling that future content to resolve Teldrassil will remind Horde players of Teldrassil. I try to recontextualize this as Horde players defending settlers or other civilians from atrocities, but I have a hard time striking the right note with that. Another argument says that they shouldn’t be involved at all , which to me smells of the Worgen story - where they missed a lot of great moments. I don’t feel like I get a consistent answer on this and would love some feedback. I think we can agree though that this can’t just be fixed in a book. Nor can the issues plaguing the Forsaken (and I bring this up because I don’t feel that it would be right to bring in this fix without fixing the Forsaken at the same time. We can’t just leave them in the gutter that Blizzard put them in - they deserve great content too).
Yeah I was very dissapointed with how the Winter Queen ‘treated’ our pal Bwonsamdi. The part at the beginning with his ‘boss’ was ok. I think they should just ‘remove’ the nelf Wild God and place it in another chapter not having to do with trolls. Maybe even alter Bwonsamdi/the Winter Queen’s dialogue so it sounds less hostile. I know that might require rerecording lines tho
As for the Other Side, I expected a beautiful midnight jungle where the souls of past troll leaders party and hunt . There could be a pine tree forest, a desert and even a frozen tundra, all representing the diffrent troll tribes. And at the center of this would be a huge golden temple (several sizes larger than Dazar’alor) where Bwonsamdi greets new arrivals on his throne, and spends time with troll women.
What did get instead? A damn central hub for the worlds of the people Bwonsamdi made deals with
Gonna have to strong disagree with you here, my picnic partner. The Night Fae quests are just… Another utter and complete misunderstanding of what the Teldrassil Issue even is by the devs.
Had Teldrassil been burned down and the night elf souls went to Ardenweald or Bastion or where ever, it’d still be a big issue. So saving those souls from the Maw? It’s not even touching on the actual problem, but highlighting a further crapping-on of the night elves; not only did their people get genocided, but they also got sent to mega-Hell. Even in the afterlife, they’re getting slapped around because Sylvanas has a thing to do. Saving them from mega-Hell is just easing the newly added wrinkle to the problem. Not even fixing, just easing. Because we aren’t saving every soul; some got turned into a soul-monster-dog-thing, so there’s that too.
The stuff with Tyrande isn’t tidying up Teldrassil either; Tyrande losing her Night Warrior schtick isn’t touching the issue of Teldrassil at all, because going Night Warrior isn’t a sole direct response to Teldrassil. Tyrande went night warrior when, layered on top of Teldrassil, the Alliance wouldn’t even help her people reclaim Darkshore, and she’d just had enough. And, even if Tyrande’s cool with the PC for helping de-night warrior her after this arc ends, that’s just between her and the PC.
Just my feelings on the matter.
I honestly didn’t mind this and I thought it fitting of someone in her position, of a person who constantly has the deal with the schemes and games Bwom is known for, you can understand after a while it grates on ones nerves and you simply don’t have the patience nor care to deal with them after a while.
Oh I don’t deny that he was wasted. But one still has a story left to explore, and it’s not Varian. In the long term, Vol’jin came out on top. Especially considering Varian’s replacement…
Here’s concise for you
I would be elated if you bothered to remember this time, so I don’t have to repeat myself for the tenth time, because you accuse me of wanting something I don’t care for every time this topic is dredged up.
He sure as hell hasn’t, yet.
Did I hallucinate his questline in bfa, then?
Having a questline (where the Horde must sacrifice a Horde character to get a character who was killed by a nameless mob resurrected) =/= coming out on top.
I mean, she isn’t exactly loosing them, the current chapter has us hunting for other Night Warriors, so they can spread the power around evenly.
As far as the dealing with the teldrassil goes? What do you want blizz to do? People cried that tyrande didn’t kill Nanthanos during BfA, so she kills him during the SL pre patch, of course this naturally wasn’t good enough, the excuse he’s in the maw now, which is where he would have been if he died during BfA.
People complained that the Night Elf souls got sent to super hell, so we go out of our way to save them, this is of course not good enough either.
You noticing the pattern my sweet Alynsa?
You seem to believe that the Horde has ever had the luxury of “positive exploration” that the Alliance has had. And yes, Jin is still exploring his story, thank GOD! However, this is somewhat mitigated by the fact that the entire thing has been gated behind so much garbage few will be able to experience it. Between two expansions it was locked behind Mythics, Several Raids, and now a Covenant System. For what probably amounts to “maybe” 2 hours worth of actual story content. Its … sort of absurd tbh, and there better be tangible payoff in SLs here that can be felt outside of the Nightfey Covvie.
And don’t take this as me being upset that it seems like someone at Blizz MIGHT have remembered Sen’jin’s prophecy after a very public outcry at Jin’s garbage death; and has set Jin on a path to achieve it. And don’t take me recognizing Rokhan as a underdeveloped B-Ranker as me disliking him in his current role. This is me complaining that this should have never been allowed to happen, and it certainly shouldn’t have taken this long to get what bare bones “fixes” we’ve actually gotten. Varian died a hero to his people, and had a solid beginning, middle, and end to his story. He had a replacement ready and waiting for his time to go. What he was not allowed was a “Continue+”, but Jin REQUIRED it with how much his death was trash.
Preach it.
Honestly? No idea. Actually, no, I want them to hire a better writing team and focus on actually writing a cohesive story with a real resolution.
But I’m assuming you meant what do I realistically want them to do, so that’s off the table.
Realistically, I want them to understand that Tyrande was never a giant tree in the ocean. She’s an elf lady. Helping fix Tyrande from blowing up does not equate to one burned tree. Saving one life is not blood payment for however many were killed on the tree. Rescuing souls from mega-Hell that our actions or inactions caused to be sent to mega-Hell is just fixing that problem, the “sending them to mega-Hell” problem. It’s not a blanket resolution for the crime of burning the tree down.
It’s like if I burned down your house then crashed your car, then caused your significant other to go crazy, we’re not gonna be square if I fix most of your car and help your SO get on the right meds. You’re still homeless with a half-fixed car and a medicated SO.
hugs You’re my fav little gob fan, I ever tell you that? I always reading your posts
How dare you
That black and red spikey toilet lid is SACRED
I can only speak for myself, but I want them to drop it. Three years of drowning the entire narrative in night elven content is more than enough to make up for it, and that isn’t even counting how almost every single expansion has a night elf zone and the night elves won every. single. zone. nelf. players. participated. inside. of. kalimdor. during Cataclysm.
It’s time for new stories. Regrow the World Stump then literally never ever ever mention it ever again.
I get where your coming from and I agree with what your saying. It’s just, realistically we both know the things that SHOULD and normally would happen aren’t going to.
I guess I’m content that they’re even dealing with it at all and that’s sad
