So Ardenweald story is as much troll as night elf?

You don’t have to worry at all then, I mean, Azeroth won’t look Elvish.

Hey man, Trippy FeyWild Fungus lands are the best in any fantasy setting. They always retain the more bizarre aspects of the rest of that world. Fun weird is fun weird!

I believe that Night Elves and Elven shape in general comes from Elune.

Not because “night elves are supposed to be special”, but because it is what makes more sense in theme. Cenarius, Dryada and Keepers of the grove all have their upper body the exact same shape and colors as Night Elves, and since Cenarius has his origins tied to Elune somehow, it just makes sense.

If Azeroth is a Titan, she will look like a human, all titans does, well, to be exact, in lore, humans look like titans and not titans look like humans.

Not sure if it’s canon or not, but I believe the night elven form was part of what attracted Elune’s attention to them; because they looked like her, or some shenanigan.

'Course, that could also be something totally from my brain, but I’m at least 50% sure I remember reading it somewhere.

I was certain that elune blessed the dark trolls with her shape or something when they settled around the well, I might also be misremembering though.

This is why I wish we knew what Thiernax and Qadarin looked like in life. To compare them to Night Elves, and see if there are any similarities.

Maybe we will get to see them in their original forms eventually

A flashback style cinematic showing them fighting off old god forces on their planet would’ve been awesome.

They’re my favorite couple in game now though :gift_heart:

Ardenweald is a Night Elf zone. It uses Night elf sound track during the part of its quest.

Yes. Because remixing three whole words from Nightsong clearly makes the entire zone Night Elven and invalidates the original scores of literally every other place within the zone (including four entire tracks of loa-themed music). It’s so very clearly not just a framing device, meant to make you juxtapose the cinematic of Ysera’s rebirth to the cinematic of her death.

Currently the nightfae campaign has shown a lot of drust themes.

So far we had to go to twilight highlands for the Ysera stuff, and now to Drustvar for well, drust stuff.

I’m not denying the appeal of the zone for night elves, but they’re making the questline very diversified.

Using the excuse that Ardenweald is a Night Elf zone because of its music is the most ridiculous reason. Felwood has the same music as Eastern Plaguelands but Felwood isn’t an undead zone. Having actually played through Ardenweald somewhat recently, the Drust makes me think it’s a Kul Tiran zone and is probably perfect for a Kul Tiran druid to play through. Ardenweald is pretty much a sequel to Drustvar. If the zones were compared to a movie franchise, it’d be like the MCU, where the zone is a Thor movie with Captain America getting involved near the end.

This is super disingenuous. Only one PC race in this game is strongly associate with HUGE Fey Wild Like Forests. Only one PC race has deep emotional connections to Ysera, a character who even revisits some of those connections in the main narrative. The color pallet is more vibrant sure, being Ard is a genuine Fey Wild, but its still very much the NE color pallet. And the Fey Residents are reflective of a lot of the Fey Allies of the NEs. Like, it is very clear that this zone was designed with the NEs in mind to some degree.

The Drust being an INVADING antagonist to the zone does not make it more of a Drust/Kul Tiras themed zone anymore than Mueh’zala makes it a troll based one. You also don’t see rolling plains; high steppes; breezy highlands; tropical rainforests; arid deserts; or even lush aquatic biomes that are associated with the other Nature Tuned races. Its JUST a big a fey-wild forest. A pretty one, with charming denizens, but no other PC race has any connections to that sort of environment.

They didn’t even stop themself by just making the zone to look like night elf zone.Even the people are just a other version of dryad/keeper of the grove.

Yet some people find that drust shouldn’t even be part of the zone or that death is represented enough at it is. The drust are what a death nature zone should be. Yet for some reason, every part of the zone that fit more the ‘‘death’’ theme is evil place that threat the Ardenweal and we must kill them…

If you don’t choose them as a covenant, you don’t see the Night Elf story either. Ysera is only Night Elf aligned as far as the Night Elves are aligned with the Cenarion Circle, an organization which contains trolls.

Also, Ardenweald is an afterlife which happens to get a lot of Night Elves because of their cultural beliefs but can get any race, while De Other Side is SPECIFICALLY for trolls, and the dungeon has literally 0 lead-up for anyone who isn’t Horde or Night Fae.

Human warriors, at least the player character ones, get honored as Valarjar by Odyn, which means once they die they will go to the halls of Valor and become one of those huge golden Vykrul warriors and get to eat, drink and fight for all time.

How is my post disingenuous? How a zone looks isn’t all that makes it a specific type of zone. Ysera isn’t a part of the narrative outside of a wildseed until the end and no one knows it’s Ysera until then. Looks and sounds seem like shallow reasons. It’s about substance.

That wildseed is like haft of the levelling questline… And we knew that it had something to do with night elf as soon as we saw her ‘‘dream’’ with her night elf friend being tag as ‘‘friend’’.

And yet the ‘‘substance’’ which is all about night elf fantasy zone, with night elf character, using night elf song theme and even using dryad/keeper looking npc is what you call ‘‘swallow’’ reason…

We see her dream when we know it’s Ysera.

It’s about a place of nature being attacked by the Drust, with neutral characters, with a Night Elf song being used in one part.

And the song only plays when we’re escorting Yseras’ wild seed to the Heart of the Forest and again when the Winter Queen revives Ysera. It’s not like it’s playing throughout the whole zone on a loop.

Ardenweald has Night elf THEMES, doesn’t make it a night elf specific zone, which most people seem to agree on.
