So after 8.3 Are we done with the Old God nonsense?

“No god rules forever, void creature.” - Probably Kurdran Wildhammer or something

Not true, they can just be manifested again.

Shadowlands will grant your wish, save for the tier set bonuses unless they decide the bring those back.

Except we’re told in 8.3 to disregard Il’gynoth’s prophecies because the point is just to drive people crazy.

The Old Gods are one of my favorite parts of WoW lore but, I’ll admit that the way Blizz has handled it in BFA, has me just wanting to be done with them.

neither do we

there will be another civil war in the horde the countless sylvanas loyalists and those loyal to galywix who is still loyal to her are either hiding their true loyalty which one of the whispers of illgynoth in the upcoming raid hints or are in hiding or the tiny few who are being paraded in chains around org, know this like the previous whispers of illgynoth the ones about the sylvanas loyalists will come true as his whispers have always come true, I will quote his new one from the upcoming raid " the cunning ones kneel before six masters, but serve only one." the six are the horde leaders thrall, rohkan, Lillian voss, baine bloodhood, lorthemar and gazlowe. the one we loyalists the cunning ones as we are called serve is sylvanas windrunner. we will serve her blizzard knows this and they plan on keeping this a factor in the game but may not act on this plot for an expansion or 2

But some of them have come true.

The whole Void Lords thing sounds so generic and dull it’s better if they just forget about them. Look at Starcraft 2 and their Void Lords mess, no thanks imo.

Her heart is a crater…and we have filled it

They didn’t call the Xel’naga Void Lords they called them Xel’naga… The Xel’naga who created the Protoss were Eldritch Abominations even before being connected to the Void.

The Old Gods incidentally are Zerg Hives in all but name following Chronicle(the Silithid even look like Zerglings in their updated Model).

You cannot kill that which does not live. The Old Gods are not dead, nor are they alive. If you cannot find the appeal or intimidation of the Old Gods, then you clearly do not understand the beauty of their madness.

No they haven’t.

All it’s doing is blabbering out a bunch of nonsense and numbo jumbo, that’s vague enough that it could imply just about anything.

It’s a well known scam tactic used by those whom are “Gifted” out of game. They don’t have to actually hit everything, because despite the numerous times they are wrong, the correct vague phrases will register in the victims mind more often than the misses, and due to the way human brains work, we’ll overly attribute the successes to proving something.

Old god “Prophecies” are nothing more than gobbledy-nonsense they spout out to try to plant the seeds of doubt in you, none of them actually make any sense, people are just forcing these sayings into having meaning on their own and then using that as a reason to try to explain how the others -must- mean something we just don’t know what yet.

It’s fake. End of story.

That’s probably the dumbest thing I’ve heard someone say in regards to these cult-worshipped tumors.

There is no “beauty of their madness” its just plain stupidity.

Need I say more?

Apparently not, if that’s all you’ve got.

Ill just say this. Sane people are boring. To truly understand madness, one must not only be mad, but accept it. The world is ripe with entertainment for those that see things in ways outside of the ordinary.

Insanity is a boring, and overdone trope that thinks it’s deeper than it actually is.

I would argue otherwise. Psychology is one of the deepest topics a human can study because of how vastly different each individual thinks based on their life experiences and background. Insanity is just another branch of psychology, and many people that are psychotic are not serial killers or anything. They understand how people think better than the general populace in order to blend in with society because they understand that standing out in that sort of way would make them look dangerous and put their lives or lifestyle at risk.

Insanity is much more than just people who are bat guano crazy. And if you honestly believe that people doing things or thinking out of the ordinary is boring, Id have to say you live a very sheltered and boring life yourself. Or perhaps you view it as boring because it isnt out of the ordinary for you because you are just the same, and you are hiding from that truth.

Or, It’s a completely overdone trope that has been completely done to death in recent media, and no longer holds any artistic merit to me?

Pretty straight forward really. The Insanity trope is dull, played out, non-imaginative, and is usually used as a quick stupid way to explain someone acting suddenly out of character.

You give it way more credit that it deserves.

But of course, if people disagree with you, then either they’re insane or sheltered. Not that they have completely different tastes in media than you.

I didn’t say that you were wrong for liking it, I didn’t claim you had issues growing up, or had mental issues for liking it, I’m just pointing out it’s an overdone trope, that thinks that it’s far “deeper” than it actually is.

You are more than welcome to enjoy it, but I’m going to continue to see it as uninspired and lazy.

For me it’s hard to tell, I think of the reason I am starting to see overdone stories and tropes might not just be because humanity is running out of ideas, it could also be because of my age to be honest…there comes a point where you just read so many stories that you can see where things are all going after a while…

I mean let’s be honest, most stories are a similar thing, good guys vs bad guys, only these days its become more 50/50 whether or not the bad guy is going to get some kind of redemption story or not.
